C18 Chapter-18

Sara's POV:

"Wait what? I heard it wrong, right? You are not talking about Dan?"

Carrie's loud voice as usual caught attention of my people around us.

"Shhh... Want to make an announcement?"

"No, i mean you are leaving at Dan's house? Like his mom is your mom's friend. You know each other. You are living together. My my, it's so romantic. Like you and him. Epic! Wonderful!"

"Carrie! Could you please stop this? I think i made a mistake telling you. You are going to tell the whole world."

"Oh, no, no dear your secret is safe with me."

With her two fingers of right hand, she acted like zipping up her lips.

"I won't tell anyone."

"Yeah, but i doubt that. Your voice is loud enough to-"

"Leave this. You know what? I think, you are witnessing a romantic drama in your life. My gosh, I'll be in supporting lead character then."

"Hey, what do you think you are talking about?"

Sometimes, it so weird to see her act like this. What was she really imagining?

"You know what, I've seen many dramas. And this is the first time I'm going to watch a real life drama. Finally. Incredible."

"You are really out of your mind, honey. Want me to take you to doctor?"

Without paying any heed to what i was saying, she continued with her stupid drama things. What was it again? JCT? no, i think it was JKCT dramas? whatever.

"Ever seen a drama named Playful kiss? Story is alot similar like you are facing in your life, female lead staying at male lead's house. Amazing! And you know what, there is a seasonal drama named Fox summer, same story. There are many stories. Like many of them. And end is same. Wow! How romantic is this. He even gave you a ride here. I saw both of you coming from same direction. Also there is a drama named legend of-"

"Wait, like you remember all the names? Every story?"

"Ahm, yeah i guess. I do remember many of them. Otherwise it's a hobby to write the name of dramas in my already watched list. Well your life is so like a drama, i wonder when i am going to meet someone. I don't have any romance in my life. I think thats the reason I've been watching weird dreams. I don't actually remember them all. But the one i had recently was a dream in which i was in a big problem. And you know what, someone saved me. I was looking in his eyes. I don't remember the face but i do remember he got a beard and was very hot. His grip was very tight and he saved me for my problems and i kissed him. I wonder when I'm going to have a real kiss in my life. I'm so carving for it. I want-"

"Huh, Carrie! You said you have something special to tell me? What was it?"

Carrie, her dramas including weird stories and characters and her dream. I knew it she is not going to stop. She is unstoppable. Keeps on speaking. Moreover, she got a big speaker. I don't know but these things are so strange about her. It looks like she is having a perfect life. A life without tensions. Or it's just I am thinking that way. May be she got worse secrets than i have in my life. And is better at pretending. Who knows!

"Oh my! Yeah, i got something really really important. How can i forget? Silly me. You kept talking to me. I almost forgot."

She really said i was i one talking. Oh Carrie! I hope you could grow up. I was hardly smiling at her behavior. She continued.

"So, today is my mom's dad's 25th marriage anniversary. And you are also coming. You have to help me prepare a surprise with me. We'll be off together."

"Ah... I'd love to do that but i have to go to home too. How-"

"You don't need to worry about that. Dan is going there too with Mark, obviously."

It was 8 at night when Carrie's mom dad, came back home together. Me, Carrie, Mark, Daniel and some of their relatives were there. Decorations were done by me and Carrie. Theme colours purple and white, with purple headlights and balloons. Everything was fantastic. Carrie's house was a big one. Just like Daniel's. Having a big yard too. Party was arranged in lounge. Seeing them happy made me a bit emotional. So, after having some introductions and food and drinks, i walked towards yard. It was bright due to full moon. Calm, pure and natural with heart touching scenery and small insects beautiful voices. I sat on a chair and close my eyes. I guessed the drinks from earlier made me a bit sleepy. It was difficult to hold back. I was wondering if i was in right place at that time, i heard his voice.

"Enjoying the scenery? Want to have a drink?"

"Yeah sure. But don't you have to drive?"

"I can handle this much."

With this, he offered one out of two glasses he was holding.

"So, what were you thinking?"

"Nothing, just thinking that is this the right time and place?"

"A right time and place? For what?"

" For me to stay."

"Why bother thinking about that?"

"It's just I'm not sure."

"Sure about what?"

" About anything."

"You know what, you are actually a bit more complicated than i thought. I can read you."

I gazed at him. His eyes were chasing moon and it's light. He was honest today. I don't know why. But this was the first time we were having a real conversation. It felt good.

"Why do you want to read me?"

My question amazed him. He looked into my eyes.

"Because you are you."

"I didn't get it."

"Then let's say you are different."

He smiled and again started looking at the moon. I was surprised at his answer.

"Can i ask something?"

I was still glaring at him that i questioned, with his eyes on the moon.

"Sure."

"How is your stepmom's behavior with you?"

"Ahm... I didn't expect such question. Why are you asking?"

"No, it's just a usual question. Actually my mom told me about the trio group. My mom, your real mom and third one was your step mom. Mom used to told me about your real mom but she never told me about your-. I just asked this question out of curiosity."

"Trio? My stepmom was their friend?"

"Yes, you don't know that?"

I was shocked at this truth. It was bitter. This was the first time i get to know. My stepmom was actually friend with Aunt Ella and my mom? Then why did she hate mom whenever someone talk out her? Friends?

"Are you alright?"

Daniel's voice interrupted my thoughts.

"Ahm... I think we should leave. It's getting late."

I was already disturbed by the reality he told me.

"Okay, no problem. Let's say goodbye them and then we'll leave."

Daniel's POV:

We were in the car now. She was sitting besides me. Was she exhausted? Or disturbed by the thing i told her half an hour ago? I had no idea that it would give her shock. I was just always very curious about her step mom. I did ask mom many times that why don't she talk about her. She always changed the topic. Soon we reached home. She was already asleep. I didn't want to disturb her. So, i decided to lift her up and take her to her room. What if she woke up on the way? Won't it be embarrassing? No, i don't think so. She is sleeping. What else would she expect me to do?

Lifting her up i took her inside the house. She wasn't heavy. I guessed she did diet sometimes. Or whether it was because i worked out often. Well climbing the stairs while lifting her, it was a really big deal. I placed her on her bed, removing her shoes, setting her blanket for her. After this, i just started to glare at her face. She was in deep sleep. Her cheeks were little red, may be because of drink and cold weather. I couldn't skip the scene. She was more beautiful in her sleep.
