C1 I Came to Deliver Takeout!

"Rann, once you finish this delivery, you can clock out. Stay safe on the road," the slightly chubby owner of the bubble tea shop said with a warm smile as he placed the drinks in the bike's basket.

"Got it!" Xia Shirann nodded, fastening her helmet before hopping on the scooter. "I'm off!"

With a twist of the throttle, the scooter merged into the bustling traffic.

Xia Shirann was a junior in college. On weekends, when her classes were lighter, she and her friend Ruoye worked at the "Sweet Bliss" bubble tea shop. The owner was kind enough to lend them the delivery scooter, saving them from being crammed like sardines on the crowded subway.

Today, Ruoye was feeling under the weather with a cold and fever, so she took the day off. Shirann planned to pick up some medicine and Ruoye's favorite snacks on her way back to their apartment after completing this delivery.

After riding through a couple of streets, Shirann stopped at a corner to check the delivery address. She was having trouble remembering it.

"Let me see... the address is..." she muttered to herself, glancing at her phone for the order details.

2100 St. Lin International Hotel on Flower Road. It must be that ultra-luxurious, grand hotel! The hotel's impressive golden entrance was surrounded by neatly trimmed greenery, with an angel fountain standing proudly in the center.

Rann pondered silently. Sometimes she would pass by that place, but only ever glanced inside from the outside. If it weren't for delivering food, she might never set foot in such a place in her lifetime.

Thinking about it, Rann felt a bit of anticipation, eager to catch a glimpse of the luxury where the wealthy stayed. But when she arrived at the St. Lin Hotel, carrying the delivery, she didn't even reach the lobby doors before a security guard stopped her.

The guard looked her over, his tone unfriendly: "Delivering food? Everyone entering or leaving here must register their identity, and entering the hotel requires a gold card. Even guests' family members or partners need a secondary card."

"I'm just here to deliver food. I don't have any gold or secondary card..." Rann muttered softly, then handed the bag of milk tea to the guard. "Could you please take it in for the guest?"

The guard didn't even reach for it. "Sorry, this hotel doesn't allow any outside food or drinks."

Rann's eyes widened in disbelief. What? They wouldn't let her in, nor would they help deliver it. How unreasonable.

Frustrated, Rann took out her phone to call the guest, asking them to come down and pick it up themselves. The call connected, and a refined female voice answered, "Hello, this is the front desk of St. Lin International Hotel on Flower Road. How may I assist you?"

Rann was completely baffled.

Seriously? This clueless customer left a phone number, but it was for the front desk?

"Uh, I'm looking for..." Rann muttered as she quickly scanned the order slip on the takeout bag.

What was the room number again? Her mind had gone blank, and she couldn't remember it.

Just then, a well-dressed person approached her with a friendly smile and said, "Are you delivering for the guest in room 2100? Please follow me."

Huh?

Feeling a bit confused, Rann followed the guide inside.

As she walked behind him, she thought to herself, even though this guy is in a work uniform, he carries himself with an air that suggests he's not just any worker—probably a manager at least!

Speaking of which, who is this mysterious person in room 2100 who ordered Taro Ball and Leaf Jelly and Grape Snow Bubble? It all seemed so intriguing.

Rann's curiosity grew, especially since those two drinks were her absolute favorites!
