C13 He Told Me to Beat Her Up!

After school at noon, Shirann tossed the broken bracelet into the trash and headed to the hot pot restaurant where she had planned to meet Yang Mo.

In a small private room, they chatted while eating. Yang Mo shared a lot about her family, mentioning that they were indeed wealthy, but all the attention was focused on her brother. From her parents, she only ever received money, never any affection.

Regarding the child she was carrying, Yang Mo gave a bitter smile and said, "My social circle is a mess, and the guys are all playboys. The baby isn't my current boyfriend's; it's my ex's. Honestly, out of all the boyfriends I've had, I invested the most in my ex."

Shirann chewed her food slowly. They came from different backgrounds and had different experiences, so naturally, their worldviews differed. While she couldn't fully understand Yang Mo's chaotic relationships, she was a good listener.

Then, Yang Mo's eyes brightened as she turned the conversation to Shirann: "What about you? When did you have your abortion, and why?"

Shirann swallowed her vegetables and smiled gently, "A few years ago, when I was young and naive. I had a boyfriend and made some poor choices..."

As she spoke, Shirann was momentarily transported back to that summer four years ago. Even though her wounds had healed, there was still a subtle sadness in her eyes when she recalled the event.

"The child was unexpected; he wasn't supposed to come..."

Yang Mo nodded with deep understanding. "Even though I've been in many relationships, this is my first time being pregnant..."

As she spoke, Yang Mo couldn't help but gently touch her still-flat stomach, her eyes welling up. "It's really strange. He's not even formed yet, but it feels like I can sense his presence."

Xia Shirann silently glanced at Yang Mo's small gesture and murmured, "Hmm." Four summers ago, she had experienced the same actions and feelings.

"Did your boyfriend at the time know about it? Was it his idea for you to end it?" Yang Mo pressed.

Xia Shirann's eyes dimmed. "He didn't know."

After a pause, she added, "He disappeared."

"Disappeared?" Yang Mo frowned. "What a jerk! How irresponsible can you get?"

After venting her anger, Yang Mo seemed to think of something and sighed in defeat. "Ugh, are all men like this? My ex didn't vanish, but... he told me to end it."

As she spoke, Yang Mo bit her lip in pain, unwilling to accept it. "Even if he hadn't said it, I knew... I couldn't keep the baby. But his first reaction was to tell me to end it... Hearing those words from him was so cruel, really cruel... so cruel!"

Yang Mo clenched her fist and slammed it on the table, tears streaming down her face. The steam from the hot pot rose slowly, the spicy aroma filling the entire room and whetting the appetite. However, the two girls sitting by the hot pot looked sorrowful, lost in memories they wished they could forget.

After a long silence, Xia Shirann took a deep breath, picked up a fish ball, and placed it in Yang Mo's bowl. "Alright, let's not dwell on it anymore. My troubles are behind me, and what's most important for you now is to take care of your health. Don't let anything linger."

"Yeah, I know," Yang Mo nodded, quietly eating the fish ball.
