C14 A Golddigging Woman!

In the afternoon, neither of them had classes, so Xia Shirann headed to the tea shop around two. This meant they could take their time eating and have a longer chat.

After spending a short time with Yang Mo, Xia Shirann felt a quiet sense of relief. Honestly, when she first saw Yang Mo in the restroom with the mifepristone, if it hadn't been for the sudden flashback to her own past struggles, she wouldn't have gotten involved. Trading your secret for someone else's is foolish because you never know when it might be used against you.

Thankfully, Xia Shirann believed Yang Mo wasn't the kind of person to betray her trust. Despite her chaotic life, Yang Mo was sensitive and genuine, without any hidden agendas.

"In a couple of days, it's the school anniversary. What is your class planning?" Yang Mo asked, blinking. The two girls started discussing school events.

Only then did Xia Shirann remember the anniversary. She shook her head, "I have no idea. Stuff like that usually doesn't involve me."

She didn't have many friends and wasn't keen on standing out, so she was almost invisible in her class. Whenever there were school or class activities, she was always just part of the audience.

Yang Mo sighed, "Our class is putting on a dance, and I'm the dance instructor."

Shirann furrowed her brow. "Huh? What about your health..." She calculated the dates and couldn't help but worry. "And the school anniversary is right when you're supposed to take your medication. Will you be able to manage?"

"I'm not going on stage," Yang Mo replied. "I'm just the coach, helping them rehearse the dance. They'll be performing during the anniversary, and I'll be in the audience."

"That's a bit of a relief," Shirann's tense expression softened slightly. "But you still need to take care of yourself these days. Don't overdo it."

"I know!"

Shirann thought for a moment before responding to Yang Mo's earlier question. "I think our class is doing a play. I heard Shiyan mention it once."

"Ugh, her," Yang Mo said with a hint of disdain. "She's just a gold digger trying to claw her way into high society."

Shirann raised an eyebrow but didn't comment.

Shiyan was considered a glamorous figure at school, but compared to Yang Mo, she seemed more approachable, which gave her a much better reputation. The reason Shirann thought Shiyan's friendliness was an act was because this so-called goddess, adored by many boys, was always confrontational around her.

Thinking about it gave Shirann a headache. She just wanted to focus on her studies and grad school, not get entangled with the famous rich kid from the sports department, Hann.

Xia Shirann often found herself at the receiving end of Gao Shiyan's bullying, all because she had her eyes on Hsiao Hann, the guy Shirann liked. So far, Shiyan's attacks were limited to verbal insults, and Shirann, not wanting to stir up trouble, chose to rise above it and ignore her.

Yang Mo, however, was relentless in her chatter about Shiyan, describing her as shameless and a "drama queen." She'd recount how Shiyan would crash any party she could, whether it was a birthday bash or a social gathering, and how she often ended up embarrassing herself at these events.

Listening to Yang Mo's animated stories, Shirann couldn't help but smile at the awkward yet amusing situations she described, almost as if she were listening to a captivating tale.
