C15 Personal Assistant
After noon, the sky gradually darkened, and the air pressure dropped, creating a muggy feeling on the street.
“Looks like it might rain,” Yang Mo said as she and Xia Shirann stepped out of the hot pot restaurant, glancing at the sky.
“Yeah,” Xia Shirann nodded. “Make sure you don’t stay out too late. You definitely don’t want to get caught in the rain.”
Earlier, Yang Mo had mentioned she was meeting some friends for karaoke, one of whom happened to be her ex-boyfriend’s current girlfriend.
Xia Shirann had remarked, “What a tangled web.”
Yang Mo chuckled, “You too, be careful at work.”
“Will do.”
With that, they parted ways.
Xia Shirann hopped on her scooter and headed to her job. When she arrived at the tea shop, she parked and went inside.
Across the street from the tea shop was a two-story motel. Unbeknownst to Xia Shirann, a camera was pointed at her from a second-floor window, capturing a few quick shots as she appeared.
Half a minute later, Hsu Chiyang received those photos. He stared at his phone, lost in thought. The girl in the photos had her hair in a high ponytail, looking fresh and neat. Even the candid side shots were striking.
But... he was now certain that Xia Shirann had left her bracelet at school.
Was it discarded, or simply forgotten?
Hsu Chiyang pondered silently, then let out a wry smile, knowing it was undoubtedly the former.
Around noon, when it was time for Shirann to get out of school, Chiyang noticed that the little red dot on the map hadn't moved—something was off. The map was detailed down to the street view, every shop and tree. Even the short walk from the classroom to the cafeteria should have shown some movement, but the bracelet's location remained fixed in the classroom.
So, Chiyang arranged for someone to keep an eye near the tea shop, and sure enough, they spotted Shirann heading to her part-time job right on schedule. Chiyang sighed—he had been secretly pleased that morning when Shirann hadn't lost the bracelet, but now he realized he was mistaken. It seemed she just hadn't noticed it before.
Still, Chiyang wasn't too discouraged. After all, his departure four years ago had caused her significant pain, and if he wanted to win her back, he knew it would take some effort.
"Sir, it's time for your meeting with the president of C University," Shisan said, walking in with a suit draped over her arm, her cheerful voice breaking Chiyang's train of thought. Her eyes sparkled with determination. After a morning of feeling down, she had finally found a new goal—embracing and exploring life in a new city.
"Alright," Chiyang replied, reaching to take the suit from Shisan's arms, but she playfully pulled back, leaving him empty-handed.
"Sir, let me help you get dressed!" Shisan declared earnestly. "I'm transitioning from a bodyguard to a quiet, refined personal assistant!"
"Lady-like?" Chiyang's mouth twitched slightly as he glanced at Shisan's short hair, tanned skin, and eyes that, despite her best efforts to appear calm, still seemed fierce. He couldn't see how the word "lady-like" had anything to do with her.
"This is the decision you came to after thinking all morning?" Chiyang asked.
"Yes!" Shisan nodded firmly, shaking the suit jacket with a flourish like a hero's cape before draping it over Chiyang's shoulders.
Chiyang stopped her with a resigned sigh, "I'll do it myself. This jacket needs the right shirt to go with it. You can go now."
"Oh!" Shisan complied immediately, handing the suit to Chiyang before leaving the room.
