C13 We Are Going!

Jiang Xinyue was deep in thought when suddenly everything went black, and she collapsed to the ground. In a daze, she vaguely heard people calling her name, but she was too weak to open her eyes.

"Xinyue, Xinyue, what's wrong? Wake up!" Fu Shaoan was standing nearby when he noticed something was off with his sister-in-law. Just as he was about to check on her, she fainted right in front of him.

He immediately called for an ambulance. The guests at the Fu family gathering heard about the incident and quickly expressed their concern for Fu Zhongtang's granddaughter-in-law.

Hai Xia was a bit displeased. On the day of the Fu family banquet, the daughter-in-law couldn't hold it together. She hadn't even done any work and yet fainted. People might think she had been overworked, and some might even gossip that the Fu family mistreated her. Such a fragile person—who knows when she'll be able to give them a grandchild.

Fu Shaochen rushed over as soon as he heard about Jiang Xinyue's collapse. Her face was pale, her lips colorless, and she looked utterly exhausted. Shaochen couldn't help but feel anxious—how could she suddenly faint like this?

He accompanied her in the ambulance to the hospital.

"Are you the patient's husband?" the doctor asked Fu Shaochen to get more information.

"Yes," Shaochen quickly replied.

"Does the patient have any medical conditions? Are there any drug allergies? What's the patient's blood type?" The doctor's questions came rapid-fire, like a barrage of bullets.

But Shaochen thought for a long time and couldn't answer a single one.

"Not a single thing? You're not doing a great job as a husband, are you?" The doctor shot him a sharp look, wondering how some men manage to get married without knowing anything about their wives.

"Doctor, is she okay? Is it serious?" Shaochen asked, a mix of worry and panic in his voice, fearing something might be wrong.

"Now you care? It's a bit late for that!" The doctor said as he wheeled Xinyue into the examination room to determine the cause of her fainting.

Xinyue slowly came to, realizing she was in a hospital.

The doctor beside her noticed she was awake and quickly asked if she felt any discomfort.

"The blood test results are in. You have a bit of anemia, and your hCG levels are quite high. Are you pregnant?"

Hearing the doctor's question, Xinyue quickly pleaded, "Doctor, please, can you not tell my husband about the pregnancy? Can you help me keep it a secret?"

The doctor was taken aback. "Why?"

Pregnancy is usually joyful news, bringing hope to a family. Many people long for this moment, so why would this woman want to hide it from her husband?

"My husband is seeing someone else, and I want a divorce. But if he finds out I'm pregnant, he'll make me get rid of the baby. Please, help me keep it a secret!" Xinyue pleaded tearfully.

The doctor, a woman in her forties with a daughter around Xinyue's age, couldn't help but feel a pang of sympathy. How did she end up marrying such a man? He seemed respectable on the outside but was rotten within. Truly, appearances can be deceiving.

The fact that the man knew nothing about his wife explained a lot. She thought to herself that when her daughter chooses a partner, she must be careful not to end up with someone like him.

"Doesn't your family know how he's treating you?" the doctor asked, genuinely concerned for Xinyue.

"My parents passed away in a car accident years ago. I'm all alone now," Xinyue replied with a bitter smile. If her parents were still around, they wouldn't let Shaochen treat her this way.

Unfortunately...

She sighed, realizing she could only rely on herself now.

"I'm sorry for bringing up such a painful topic. I'll help you keep your secret, don't worry," the doctor assured her, taken aback by the young woman's tragic circumstances—losing her parents so young and ending up with such an unreliable man.

She'll definitely do her best to help her!
