C10 Living Together
Xiaomin blushed and whispered, "Got it, I'll bring her in right away."
"Alright, go ahead. Focus on your work and don't get distracted by unnecessary thoughts."
When Yueyue saw the elderly woman enter, she stood up in surprise, "Oh, it's you?"
Wasn't this the same lady who had fallen in front of her car in the basement earlier?
Zhong Lan also looked surprised and clapped her hands in delight, "Oh my, young lady, it's you! Are you Manager Wooh of the company?"
The elderly woman's expression of surprise was completely genuine, with no hint of acting.
"Yes, that's me."
Yueyue smiled, made a cup of tea for the elderly woman, and placed it on the coffee table. She sat beside her and said gently, "I didn't expect we'd meet again so soon."
"Yes, young lady, it seems we were meant to meet."
Zhong Lan stared at Yueyue for a few seconds, then turned to take in her office. The desk was spotless, the office supplies were neatly arranged, and the potted plants on the windowsill were lush and vibrant.
It was clear to the elderly woman that Yueyue had good habits, valuing cleanliness and order. Her grandson, Xice, also liked a tidy home. With shared preferences, they wouldn't clash over lifestyle habits if they lived together.
Yueyue asked, "Grandma, what kind of interior design do you like? European, traditional, or modern chic?"
This question made Grandma Zhong's heart swell with joy. She replied with a warm smile, "I'm not too familiar with the current trends. How about you take some time to visit the house with me, Manager Yueyue? You can give me some advice."
Yueyue readily agreed, "Sure."
"Let's do it tomorrow. Add me on WeChat, and I'll contact you then," Grandma Zhong said, opening her WeChat profile.
"Okay." Yueyue added Grandma Zhong on WeChat.
Grandma Zhong saved Yueyue's contact as "Yueyue" and sent a smiling emoji before standing up to leave. "Manager Yueyue, you get back to work. See you tomorrow."
"Alright, goodbye."
Yueyue walked Grandma Zhong to the door. "Grandma, please don't call me Manager Yueyue. Just call me Yueyue."
"Alright, Yueyue is a lovely name."
Grandma Zhong hurriedly left the Lotus Family Beauty Decoration Company, headed to the underground garage, got into a luxury car, and after a phone call, instructed the driver, "Take me to my grandson's company."
Not long after seeing Grandma Zhong off, Yueyue received a call from her landlord, informing her that she needed to vacate the apartment as it was being reclaimed. She had to move out by tomorrow.
Yueyue anxiously said into the phone, "You should have notified me in advance! Suddenly kicking me out, where am I supposed to find a place to rent? You can't do this!"
The landlord told her to figure it out herself and that she had to move out by tomorrow, or else her belongings would be thrown out. With that, he heartlessly hung up the phone.
Wooh Yueyue sighed in frustration. This was the plight of a renter. She hadn’t signed a lease agreement when she moved in, so when the landlord said go, she had no choice but to leave.
For the past few years, she had been working tirelessly, hoping to give her parents a better life and to buy a small place of her own. Owning a home would finally give her a sense of security.
...
Zhong Lan arrived at the company headquarters and headed straight to the CEO's office on the top floor.
Zuo Xice was busy with work but looked up when he saw his grandmother walk in. He frowned slightly; her visits usually meant trouble. It was either about setting him up with someone or introducing him to some "perfect" girl.
“Grandma, what brings you here?”
“I’m here for something important,” she said eagerly as soon as she walked in. “Xice, you need to contact Wooh Yueyue and have her move into the Capital No.1 Villa tomorrow. You should move in too. I’ve already had the place cleaned, and all the essentials are ready. You can move in right away.”
Zuo Xice put down his work and helped his grandmother to the sofa, frowning. “Grandma, did you forget? I clearly told you yesterday not to interfere in my personal affairs.”
