C15 The Pressure from Him
Zuo Xice didn't leave the office until well past 10 PM. Lian Qi drove his own gray Volvo to drop the CEO off at the underground parking lot of Capital No.1 Villa, then walked away on foot.
In Zuo Xice's private garage, even the least expensive cars were Mercedes, BMWs, and Porsches. For now, this ordinary Volvo served as the CEO's disguise. Who would guess that a billionaire CEO would drive such a modest car?
After her shower, Wooh Yueyue changed into a conservative set of long-sleeved pajamas when she suddenly heard someone entering the code outside. She figured it must be Zuo Xice returning. Feeling a bit nervous, she realized it was her first time sharing a space with a stranger.
Zuo Xice opened the door and saw Wooh Yueyue standing in the living room, her hair still damp and clad in pajamas. He felt a bit awkward too. After a few seconds of eye contact, he took a pair of slippers from the shoe cabinet and put them on.
With a polite yet slightly embarrassed smile, Wooh Yueyue broke the silence, "Um, I was just wondering if I could use your kitchen? I usually cook for myself when I have the time."
Zuo Xice replied expressionlessly, "Sure, but make sure to clean up afterward."
"Of course."
This was the third time Wooh Yueyue had met Zuo Xice. Tonight, he finally wasn't wearing sunglasses, yet he still exuded an intimidating aura. He always seemed distant, giving off an intense vibe that made him seem unapproachable—a clear sign that he wasn't the easiest person to get along with.
Wooh Yueyue really disliked this oppressive atmosphere. Work was exhausting enough, and now she had to be even more tense after hours? It was just too much. If it weren't for her current predicament, she wouldn't be sharing a room with someone like this. She took a deep breath and asked, "Mr. Zuo, did you bring your copy of the agreement? I have mine. Let's discuss adding the new terms."
"Sure."
Zuo Xice took his agreement out of his bag and placed it on the coffee table, then looked up at Yueyue from the couch. "Go get yours."
"Okay."
Yueyue quickly went to the guest room to fetch her agreement and placed it next to Zuo Xice's. "Who's going to write?"
"I'll dictate, you write."
Aside from needing to sign off on work-related documents, Zuo Xice had his secretary handle everything else. He certainly wasn't going to bother with something this trivial.
"Fine, I'll write."
Yueyue didn't like Zuo Xice's commanding demeanor, as if he were some big boss. She wasn't his employee, so why should she have to put up with it? But sometimes, you have to go along to get along.
Yueyue obediently grabbed a pen and sat down, letting the pen hover over the blank space on the contract. She looked up at Zuo Xice, waiting for him to start dictating.
Zuo Xice said seriously, "Clause 4: After mutual agreement, both parties will live together for three months. Party A will pay Party B $1,500 each month as compensation. Party B cannot bring anyone into Party A's home. Except for Party A's bedroom, Party B can freely access other areas of the house and use household items, but must clean up afterward. Additionally, there should be no physical contact between the parties."
Wooh Yueyue nodded, "Alright. I also want to add that Party A is not allowed to bring any family members to stay in the house. I won't entertain Party A's family or friends."
"Agreed, write it down."
Wooh Yueyue handwrote the additional agreement in the blank spaces of the two copies of the contract, as requested by both parties. Her handwriting was neat and strong, with the lines perfectly aligned.
Zuo Xice couldn't help but glance at it, then took his copy and went into the master bedroom. He then transferred $1,500 to Wooh Yueyue via a payment app.
Wooh Yueyue accepted the payment without hesitation. Initially, she thought she didn't need to take the money since she was living in someone else's home and didn't have to pay rent, which was already a good deal. But now, considering she had to face Zuo Xice's cold demeanor every day after work and endure the pressure he exuded, she felt the money was justified as a kind of mental compensation.
This kind of relationship is great because both parties have clearly defined benefits. You don't owe me, and I don't owe you.
