C2 The Marriage Partner Was Very Good
The luxurious CEO office.
A tall, distinguished man stood by the floor-to-ceiling window, overlooking the entire city. His custom-tailored black suit accentuated his commanding presence.
Standing at six feet one inch, his aura extended far beyond the room. Even from behind, he exuded an undeniable charisma.
He was Xice, the enigmatic tycoon of the city and the true power behind Zuo's Group. Known for his low profile, he rarely appeared in public, and outside of elite circles and a few close friends, his name was virtually unknown.
Lian Qi, holding a tablet with both hands, respectfully handed it to Xice. "Sir, here is the information on the person you asked about."
Xice turned, his indifferent gaze briefly scanning the photo of Yueyue on the tablet. He said coldly, "Read it."
These trivial matters were not worth his precious time.
Lian Qi began, "Yueyue, 27 years old, graduated from the city university, currently a manager at a renovation company. Her parents are ordinary workers, and she is the eldest of three children. Her sister Panpan is missing, and her brother Jiabao is lazy and indulgent..."
"That's enough."
Zach raised his hand to interrupt Lian's report. "I'm not interested in her family background. Just tell me about her character."
If she's the kind of woman who clings and won't let go, he's not interested. He can't stand high-maintenance women.
Lian confidently replied, "Boss, you can trust her character. I've done my homework. She's a strong, independent woman with a solid reputation in the renovation industry."
Zach instructed coldly, "Inform her to meet me tomorrow to get the marriage license. Also, draft an agreement and tell her you're my attorney."
Lian nodded, "Got it, I'll take care of it."
Even though tomorrow is the second day of the holiday, and the marriage office is supposed to be closed, if the boss wants something done, it gets done.
...
The next day, with a mix of anxiety and anticipation, Yueyue arrived at the marriage office.
Technically, it was a holiday, but surprisingly, the office was open.
She got there early and was hesitating at the entrance when she noticed a gray Volvo pull up.
A tall man in all black, wearing sunglasses and a mask, stepped out.
Yueyue couldn't help but admire him. He looked incredibly handsome.
Even though she couldn't see his features, his silhouette suggested he was quite good-looking. Not everyone has that kind of presence, but this guy clearly had the clean-cut, sharp vibe of a top-tier professional.
The man was undeniably handsome, but his aura was a bit chilly, making anyone in his path feel a shiver.
Wooh Yueyue thought to herself, wondering what the man she was about to marry would look like. It would be a lie to say she wasn't a little curious—after all, this was her first marriage, even if it was just on paper.
Though it was a fake marriage, the paperwork was real.
If her "husband" turned out to be somewhat good-looking, she’d feel a bit better. But if he was unattractive and not her type, it would be a bit of a downer.
Wooh Yueyue sighed deeply. Oh well, she thought, no matter what he looks like, she’d just have to accept it. She didn’t have any other options right now.
It was rare to find someone willing to enter a fake marriage with her.
In a daze, the aloof man approached her and asked in a cold voice, "Are you Wooh Yueyue?"
"Yes, and you are?"
Wooh Yueyue lifted her confused eyes to the man towering over her, drawn in by his deep, magnetic voice.
"Let's go inside and get the paperwork done."
With that, the man strode into the office with long steps.
Wooh Yueyue stood there for a few seconds, stunned. Could this cold man really be her intended husband? No way, right? He was a bit beyond what she had expected.
Seeing that Wooh Yueyue hadn’t followed him, the man turned back and looked at her. "Why are you just standing there? Are you daydreaming?"
Zuo Xice has always been quite confident in his looks; girls often find themselves momentarily stunned when they see him, and this girl named Yueyue was no exception. Ah, women are such visual creatures.
