C11 The Mistake Here
The finance officer walked over and quietly explained, "It's because of a design error that sales were poor. It's just a small mistake, and we can recover next quarter."
"Where's the report from last October?" Lishan set down the report she was holding and looked coolly at the finance officer.
The finance officer paused, glancing at the department manager as if seeking his opinion.
The department manager was also taken aback. They had assumed Lishan was just a young girl and didn't expect her to ask for financial reports. What was she trying to prove? What did she even understand?
"Sorry, Miss Qiao, last year's financial report has already been submitted to the finance director. We need the general manager's approval before we can show it to you," the department manager said quietly, wiping his brow.
Lishan nodded and tossed the financial report onto the desk. "Alright, I understand. You can get back to work."
With that, she turned her attention back to the documents in her hand.
After a while, feeling a bit thirsty, she got up and headed to the nearby break room. As she was about to pour herself some water, she overheard a hushed conversation nearby.
"Hey, did you hear? The new intern actually gave the manager a hard time. Talk about fearless."
"Yeah, so what? Sooner or later, the manager will get back at her. Everyone knows about the manager skimming company money, but we all just turn a blind eye. Who dares to speak up?"
"Do you think that girl has some connections? The department manager seems to pay her a lot of attention."
"Who cares? It's not like it affects us!"
Lishan lowered her eyes and stepped aside to avoid two employees walking by, gripping her teacup a little tighter. It seemed this company had quite a few freeloaders. She was determined to root them all out.
Back in her office, Lishan quickly handled her tasks, going through the bills one by one, and didn't leave the building until late. As the sun set, the sky was replaced by a beautiful array of stars.
Lishan was debating whether to call a cab or have her driver pick her up when a sleek blue Porsche pulled up in front of her. The window rolled down slowly, revealing a sharp, cool face. "Get in."
Tianche?! What was he doing here?
Seeing him, Lishan instinctively wanted to flee, but Tianche's cold voice stopped her. "Are you a turtle or something, running away every time you see me?"
"Sorry, I was just looking for my car," Lishan replied with a wide smile that didn't quite reach her eyes.
A flicker of something unreadable passed through Tianche's gaze. "Your car won't be picking you up today. I've already informed your father that I'll be taking you home myself."
"Hey, you’re not catching feelings just because of last night, are you?" Lishan teased with a hint of sarcasm. "I’m into younger guys, not someone like you."
Feelings? Older guy?
Lishan's words hit him hard, igniting a fire of anger within him. This woman really had a knack for pushing his buttons, managing to rile him up twice in one day. Impressive, very impressive.
Tianche swung open the car door, his expression icy as he approached Lishan. He grabbed her firmly, pulling her closer, his breath warm against her face.
