C12 It Was Just an Accident

Suddenly being so close made Lishan uncomfortable. She struggled to break free from his grip, but he held her arm tightly, leaving her with no strength to resist. "Uncle, we're in public. It's not appropriate for a man and a woman to be so close."

"You just called me old-fashioned, but it seems you're the one stuck in the past. So what if it's not appropriate? Last night, we got to know each other quite 'intimately,'" Tianche leaned in, his lips just millimeters from hers.

If she opened her mouth, they would touch. Lishan's body went rigid, fearing his kiss might land. She stared at the man in front of her, who was grinning like a sly fox, suppressing the urge to punch him.

"Last night, we were practically inseparable..." Tianche's lips brushed against her cheek in a fleeting kiss that still managed to make her blush.

Damn it. This man was taking liberties with her again, and he seemed to enjoy it!

Lishan glared at him, her voice low and firm. "Uncle, don't push your luck!"

"Isn't pushing your luck exactly what we should be doing? Besides, we've already done plenty of things that push boundaries. Feeling shy now seems a bit late, don't you think?" Tianche hooked her chin with one hand, forcing her to look at him, while his other hand held hers behind her back.

With an awkward posture, she found herself looking at him.

"Uncle, yesterday was just an accident. I didn't expect it, but it turns out I'm more sensitive than I thought," Lishan said, fearing his kiss might land. She was even more afraid that people passing by, including her colleagues or someone who knew her uncle, might recognize them. That would be truly terrifying.

"Get in the car, and I'll let you off the hook for now," Tianche pressed on. "If you choose to resist, I don't mind doing this right here..."

"Alright, alright! I'll get in the car. Stop threatening me, you win," Lishan said, hating being threatened. In her past life, she had been threatened to death by Jinxi, and now Tianche was doing the same. Had she wronged the Chi family somehow? Why couldn't they just leave her alone?

With a sense of resignation, Lishan planned to get in the car, but Tianche insisted on seating her in the front passenger seat, pushing her down until she was settled.

"I don't want to sit here; it's too dangerous."

"Am I the danger, or do you think my driving skills are so bad we'll crash?" Tianche asked coldly, casting a sharp glance her way.

Lishan smirked. "Seems like you have some self-awareness."

"Are you afraid of me?"

"Not really, I wouldn't say afraid," she replied. It was just that getting tangled up with him would only hold her back.

Tianche gave her a long, piercing look, his eyes cold enough to chill her to the bone. That icy stare sent shivers down her spine. Without saying a word, he shifted his gaze to the road ahead.

The car smoothly pulled up in front of the Qiao family’s villa. As she stepped out, Tianche's phone rang.

"Ma'am, Shanshan has been safely dropped off... No trouble at all, it was on my way..."

Tianche was calling her mom "ma'am"?!

Qiao Lishan stared at Tianche in shock. Since when did he get so familiar with her mom? Could it be that her mom found out she didn’t come home last night? Oh no, she hadn’t explained anything to her mom yet.
