C8 Bad Skills

Lishan's expression shifted as she glanced at the silhouette of the man showering in the bathroom. She quickly threw off the covers, hastily slipped on a shirt, and tore a piece of paper from the notepad nearby, scribbling down a string of numbers with flair.

After a moment's thought, she added a note: "Great skills, didn't feel a thing all night. This number is also my payment app ID. Add me and I'll send you a tip."

Finished, she tore off the note and quietly slipped out of the room.

Luckily, finding a ride near the hotel wasn't difficult. Ignoring the driver's curious glance, she returned to her family home, had the housekeeper pay the fare, and immediately changed her clothes.

Just as she was about to head to school, her phone rang unexpectedly. The screen displayed an unfamiliar number. She frowned, guessing it was the stranger calling, and decided not to answer. She was nearly late for work and planned to deal with it once she got to the office.

She dashed out the door, completely unaware of the car slowly trailing behind her.

"Boss, should we follow her?"

"No need," Tianche replied coldly, watching Lishan's retreating figure. Memories of her enchanting presence from the previous night flashed through his mind, igniting a fire within him.

If she wanted to run, he would let her. But one day, he would have her in his grasp, unable to escape. Their story was far from over.

On the other side, as Lishan ran, she couldn't shake the feeling of a burning gaze fixed on her back. When she stopped and turned around, there was nothing there. Was it just her imagination?

Furrowing her brow, Lishan quickly made her way to Qiao's. Over the years, Qiao's had become a leading name in the jewelry business in the city. Although her father, Qiao Hua, had encouraged her to study jewelry design, she chose to follow Jinxi into business and trade. This meant she had to work twice as hard to learn about jewelry.

As soon as she arrived at Qiao's, she spotted a familiar figure. Two people stood close together, discussing something with the manager. Lishan intended to bypass them and head straight to her department, but Tian'ai noticed her and greeted her warmly.

"Lishan? What are you doing here?"

"This is my family's business. I'm here to learn the ropes. What about you?" Lishan replied with a smile, realizing she couldn't avoid the encounter.

"Jinxi and I came by to see your father. We want him to help us pick the purest gem as a gift for the Chi family's patriarch's birthday banquet," Tian'ai said, her smile perfectly poised, with happiness radiating from her eyes.

Chi Jinxi cooperatively wrapped his arm around her shoulders, and the two exchanged a smile, sparks of romance crackling in the air. These two always seemed ready to put her in her place.

Lishan let out a cold laugh internally, casting a dismissive glance at them. "My dad's on a business trip today. If you want the diamond, you'll have to come back in a few days."

At the mention of a delay, Chi Jinxi immediately grew anxious. "A few days? Your father promised I'd have it today! Can't the Qiao family keep their word?"

"Do you even know how much a pure gemstone costs? Our family can't afford to just give one away. You might want to try elsewhere," Lishan replied sharply.

"Lishan, don't push your luck. We're doing you a favor by wanting your family's gemstone. Don't get too full of yourself!" Chi Jinxi's face darkened, his voice rising with disdain.

Ha, look at him, acting like he's got the upper hand. Anyone would think she owed him millions.

Lishan's fingers tightened slightly as she sneered, "I've already said, our family won't be giving away any gemstones. If you want one, look elsewhere. Mr. Li, please show them out!"

Manager Li immediately put on a sour expression. "Miss Qiao, this..."
