C9 Uncle It's You

"Since the general manager isn't here, I'll make the decision in their place. Do you have any issues with that?" Lishan said coolly, glancing sideways.

Manager Li didn't dare say more and quickly turned to escort Jinxi and Tian'ai out.

Seeing Lishan's unyielding expression, Jinxi felt an urge to confront her. "Don't get cocky, you witch!" he spat before leaving, glaring at Lishan. "You'll pay for this, along with yesterday's incident!"

Pay for it? Along with yesterday's?

Lishan's smile grew even brighter, as if she'd heard a joke. "What goes around comes around. Karma will catch up eventually."

Being given a second chance at life meant she was karma's instrument!

Jinxi's expression shifted, and he shot her another fierce look before leaving with Tian'ai.

As soon as they were out the door, Lishan felt a sharp pain in her lower abdomen, something trickling down her leg.

Damn, could it be her period?

She couldn't be that unlucky, could she?

Clutching her stomach, she rushed to the restroom, and upon removing her pants, the sight of crimson confirmed her suspicion.

Great, her period was always unpredictable, and this time it hit with a vengeance. Thankfully, she'd learned from past experiences and kept a pack of pads in her bag for emergencies like this.

After changing her sanitary pad, she pushed the door open and was startled to see a familiar figure with his back to her, using the restroom.

Tianche!?

What was he doing here!?

Lishan was so shocked that she locked herself back in the stall, pinching her leg to make sure she wasn't dreaming.

It hurt.

This was real!

So why was she in the men's restroom?

Everything was a mess.

As her mind raced, there was a sudden knock on the door. "Miss Qiao, I didn't expect you to have a special habit of sneaking into men's restrooms."

The words "special habit" hit Lishan like a ton of bricks.

She had been so focused on her stomachache that she hadn't even looked at the restroom sign!

"If you don't come out soon, there might be a lot of people coming in during break time, and then you really won't be able to explain yourself," Tianche said coolly, reminding her of the urgency.

Lishan froze, conflicted, and finally whispered, "Could you not tell anyone?"

"Come out," Tianche replied curtly. When the door didn't move, he waited a moment before turning and leaving the restroom.

Listening to Tianche's footsteps fade away, Lishan finally breathed a sigh of relief.

She quietly opened the stall door, peeked out, and just as she stepped out of the men's restroom, she looked up to see Tianche standing at the entrance, hands in his pockets, watching her with a cold gaze.

Her heart skipped a beat, and she almost retreated again.

Seeing her trying to back away, Tianche quickly stepped forward and grabbed her arm firmly. "Thinking of going back in? Hmm?"

"No, no, I don't want to. Let me go." Lishan pleaded, trying to push his arm away, only to find his grip unyielding.

"Let go? After everything last night, you think you can just walk away?" Tianche turned, pinning her against the glass, his hand resting by her ear as he whispered softly.

His cool breath brushed her face, tickling her slightly.

His words and gaze were filled with a teasing intimacy, drawing them closer. His lips seemed ready to meet her softness at any moment.

Lishan's eyes widened as she stared at the man with the cool demeanor in front of her, her mind going blank.

"Shanshan, you stirred things up with me, so now you have to take responsibility," Tianche murmured, looking into her incredulous eyes.

Responsibility?

It was the first time she'd heard a man say a woman needed to take responsibility for him.

But did that mean last night, she was with him...

"Uncle, last night, was it you?"
