Meeting people wasn't a big deal for Su Yu'an. Conveniently, Jiang Qiyun had booked a spot at the Green Tea House, which belonged to the Third Branch of the Su family. This gave Su Yu'an a perfect excuse to go.

They arranged to meet at the Green Tea House two days later, with the private room already reserved by Jiang Qiyun. Unexpectedly, when Su Yu'an informed Old Madam Su the next day, Su Yuxi suddenly insisted on tagging along.

"Second Sister, if you want to go out, just go. Why do you need to follow me?" Su Yu'an asked, a hint of amusement in her voice.

"I'm just going out to buy some thread to make a headband for Mother," Su Yuxi replied, glancing at Old Madam Su and Mrs. Lin. "Since Third Sister is also going out, why use two carriages?"

What's wrong with two carriages? The Third Branch's carriage was bought with Mrs. Soong's own money. However, Old Madam Su agreed, "That makes sense. You two sisters can go together, but come back early." With that, she waved everyone off to their tasks.

Su Yu'an knew that Su Yuxi wasn't well-liked, and neither was she. Old Madam Su didn't want to bother with them. Still, Su Yu'an couldn't refuse, as the Third Branch had to maintain their place in the Su family.

Back at the Orchid Snow Residence, Lvqing grumbled, "Miss, do you really have to take Second Miss with you? I can tell she doesn't have good intentions."

Su Yu'an chuckled, "She's set on sticking with me. No matter what I say, she'll find a way to counter it."

Danzhu, a bit worried, added, "So how are you going to meet Second Young Master Jiang tomorrow? You can't possibly take Second Miss with you, right?"

That was certainly out of the question!

Su Yu'an lay back on the couch and picked up a book to flip through. Lvqing and Danzhu exchanged a glance, understanding that their young lady had already made up her mind, so they went about their tasks without further comment.

Early the next morning, Su Yuxi arrived at Orchid Snow Residence, waiting.

"Isn't Third Sister supposed to be going out? Why hasn't she gotten up yet?" Su Yuxi's voice was loud enough to echo through the entire back courtyard.

"Second Miss, you must have eagle eyes. How do you know our young lady isn't up yet before even coming in?" Lvqing, never one to back down, replied even louder.

"Lvqing, why are you shouting so much? You'll scare our young lady," Su Yuxi's maid, Dragonfly, shot Lvqing a glare.

"Dragonfly, listen to you. I'm only raising my voice because Second Miss was so loud. Otherwise, how could I show I'm not being warm enough?" With that, Lvqing ignored Dragonfly and turned to Su Yuxi, "Second Miss, please follow me. Our young lady has been expecting you."

"Did you get up early today? If I had known, I wouldn't have made this trip for nothing," Su Yuxi said with a cheerful smile.

Lvqing almost rolled her eyes, clearly implying that her young lady lacked manners, making her elder sister come all this way. She thought to herself how odd it was for an older sister to hitch a ride on her younger sister's carriage.

But outwardly, Lvqing maintained her smile and said, "How could it be a wasted trip? Today, Bai Ji made some sugar cakes that the Second Miss loves."

At the mention of sugar cakes, Su Yuxi's eyes lit up. "Well, I won't hold back then. I'll definitely have a few more pieces today," she said, feigning warmth.

However, once inside, Su Yuxi was almost taken aback. Seeing the array of delicacies in front of Su Yu'an, she finally understood why Lvqing had mentioned the sugar cakes.
