C5 The Number One Playboy in the Capital(part II)
Originally, Su Yu'an held onto a sliver of hope, but seeing Su Zhaolin's attitude, it was clear he was truly a spoiled brat.
"You've misunderstood, brother," Su Yu'an managed a weak smile.
"Misunderstood? I knew it! You're not the type of girl who judges by appearances!" Su Zhaolin lay back down, crossing his legs again. If it were any warmer, he'd probably have a little fan going, too.
"But brother, I think I might have to marry him," Su Yu'an sighed.
"What?" Su Zhaolin sat up again, staring at Su Yu'an. "Didn't you just say I misunderstood? Why are you suddenly talking about marrying him?"
Su Yu'an had no choice but to explain the situation, looking at Su Zhaolin with a pitiful expression.
Su Zhaolin, who treated Su Yu'an like his own sister, jumped up and shouted, "They've already messed up their own lives, and now they're dragging you into it?"
"Exactly, but keep your voice down. There's no proof, and if someone overhears, they'll come after you."
Even though Su Yu'an said this, her eyes had already turned cold.
"I'm fine on my own, I don't need them. Worst case, I just won't come back," Su Zhaolin said, frowning. He knew there was probably no way out of this, so he reluctantly added, "Honestly, Jiang Qiyun isn't all that bad."
"Is it really not that bad?"
Su Yu'an looked at Su Zhaolin again, wondering just how bad it could be.
"At least the name is pretty decent, right?" Su Zhaolin, feeling guilty under Su Yu'an's gaze, tried to justify, "And, uh, yeah, his biggest asset is his face. If you called him the second most handsome man in the city, no one would dare claim the first spot."
Su Yu'an: ...
Didn't you just say I'm not that shallow, only caring about looks?
"Brother, looks aren't everything."
In her previous life, Su Yu'an was a marriage counselor, well aware that if a man is truly awful, no matter how handsome, he'd still be repulsive.
"Looks do matter! For instance, if you had two butchers, one extremely handsome and the other very ugly, whose meat would you buy?" Su Zhaolin asked, glancing at Su Yu'an.
Su Yu'an was speechless. Is that even a fair comparison?
Su Zhaolin, however, felt he'd made a particularly apt analogy and smugly added, "So spot-on! Who knew I had a bit of talent?"
Su Yu'an: ...
He really knows how to toot his own horn!
"Brother, why did you call him 'Little Tyrant' just now?" Su Yu'an asked again.
"Jiang Qiyun is called 'Little Tyrant' because he's skilled in martial arts!" Su Zhaolin said with pride, "In the whole city, among all the young men, not many can beat him."
"Really that impressive?" Su Yu'an's delicate eyebrows furrowed slightly.
Faced with such overwhelming strength, it was clear this situation needed a more thorough plan.
Noticing Su Yu'an's unease, Su Zhaolin quickly reassured her, "But don't worry, little sister, he doesn't hit women. Besides, you have your big brother here."
Su Yu'an felt touched by his words, but one glance at Su Zhaolin's skinny frame, a result of childhood malnutrition, and she knew better than to rely on him.
"Oh, right, little sister, if you marry Jiang Qiyun, wouldn't that make me his brother-in-law?"
It was only now that Su Zhaolin realized this possibility, and he couldn't help but feel a bit excited, almost eager to rush out and find Jiang Qiyun.
With that, Su Yu'an had no more questions. After all, given Su Zhaolin's status, he was likely just a sidekick.
