C9 I Don't Want to Marry You(last part)
“I mean, I...” Jiang Qiyun started to explain, then turned to look at Jiang Ann, “I really don’t like women.”
“If you don’t like women, then how did the little young master come to be?” Jiang Ann, Qiyun’s attendant, looked frustrated. Even if he didn’t want to marry the third miss of the Su family, he shouldn’t say such things about himself, or no one would dare to marry him in the future.
“That was just a misunderstanding,” Jiang Qiyun suddenly said sharply, then gave Jiang Ann a kick.
“Little young master?” Su Yu'an and Danzhu said in unison.
“Yes, I have a son. He’s four years old!” Jiang Qiyun lifted his chin, appearing completely unruffled.
“You don’t like women, so how do you have a son?” Su Yu'an’s curiosity was piqued.
“I was drunk,” Jiang Qiyun explained.
Drunk? A drunk man isn’t usually... Besides, does being drunk make a man interested in women?
Su Yu'an shook her head, deciding not to dwell on it. This was beyond her understanding.
For a moment, Su Yu'an felt troubled. If she couldn’t marry Jiang Qiyun, she’d have to contend with the first branch of the Su family. But the difference in their strengths was too great, and the odds weren’t in her favor.
“Does the third miss have a problem?” Jiang Qiyun wasn’t genuinely concerned about Su Yu'an; he just figured that if he solved her problem, she’d stop bothering him.
Su Yu'an turned her gaze to Jiang Qiyun and stepped forward, asking, "Second Young Master Jiang, do you plan on never getting married?"
"Of course!"
Su Yu'an pressed further, "Would your father, the Marquis, agree with that?"
Jiang Qiyun suddenly felt like he was being hunted, taking a step back and silently shaking his head. There was no way his father would agree; if his dad knew about this idea, he'd probably beat him senseless.
"What if there was someone willing to marry you, who wouldn't demand a wedding night, wouldn't push you to be ambitious, and would even cover for you with anyone you fancy? Would you marry someone like that?" Su Yu'an asked softly, with a smile.
"I don't have anyone like that."
"Not now, but maybe in the future," Su Yu'an argued, trying to strengthen her negotiating position. "When feelings come, you can't stop them."
"I told you, I don't like women," Jiang Qiyun replied, wondering if this Third Miss Su was a bit off her rocker.
"Do you not like men either?"
"Just because I don't like women doesn't mean I like men," Jiang Qiyun glared at Su Yu'an. "You can call me a playboy, but you can't say I like men!"
"Oh, sorry," Su Yu'an forced a smile.
"Why are you so willing to marry me? Do you have some hidden ailment?" Jiang Qiyun looked at Su Yu'an suspiciously, thinking it was a real shame.
Su Yu'an could tell from Jiang Qiyun's look that he had already concluded there was something wrong with him.
"I have my reasons!" Su Yu'an said irritably. "I can tell you, but you can't let it slip."
If word got out, Su Yu'an wouldn't mind much, but it would make things tougher for Su Zhiliang and Mrs. Soong in the family.
Jiang Qiyun crossed his arms, looking unimpressed. "Say it or don't."
Su Yu'an didn't want to say it, but his life was on the line. He signaled Danzhu to send Jiang Ann away, then revealed the First Branch's plans to Jiang Qiyun and bluntly said, "I don't want to enter the palace."
Jiang Qiyun stroked his chin and snapped his fingers. "I believe you. Deal, but I have conditions!"
Su Yu'an nodded. "Of course, I have conditions too!"
