C15 Like Glue!

Without exchanging a word, they finally arrived back at the Bai Family Mansion.

By this time, the matriarch was already asleep, and Susu was craning her neck, peering out the window.

"First day of marriage and they're out this late? They're really inseparable, aren't they?" Susu muttered to herself, her tone tinged with slight annoyance.

Her gaze fell on the car that had just pulled into the driveway. Sichen quickly got out, opening the door for Xiaowu. They seemed to be getting along well.

At that moment, Sicong, who was engrossed in his video game nearby, suddenly chimed in, "Come on, Sis, they're newlyweds. They can come back whenever they want. Why are you so worked up?"

"I'm not just being nosy! Don't forget what Mom told us before she left!" Susu retorted through gritted teeth, casting a disapproving look at Sicong, clearly frustrated with his indifference.

"I haven't forgotten... but it's still early. Mom won't be back anytime soon," Sicong replied nonchalantly, his eyes glued to the game screen, not budging an inch.

"I think we've underestimated that woman. She's no simpleton, with her charm and sharp tongue. Big brother doesn't usually deal with women like her; she might just have him wrapped around her finger!"

Just as they were speaking, the sound of the door opening interrupted them.

Susu immediately stopped talking and greeted them with a beaming smile, "Big brother, sister-in-law, you're finally back."

Sichen, noticing Susu's ingratiating smile, responded coolly, "Hmm." Without further acknowledgment, he turned and headed straight to his room.

As Sichen's figure disappeared upstairs, Susu shifted her gaze to Xiaowu, her smile innocent and harmless. "Having a new sister-in-law really changes things. Big brother used to call if he was coming home late, but now he doesn't even bother."

Her tone was dripping with sarcasm, but she quickly turned away and sat back on the couch, munching on some nuts.

Xiaowu wasn't bothered. She smiled faintly and replied, "What are you saying, sister? Are we expected to stay home all the time just because we're married?"

"That's not what I meant. I'm just worried that from now on, he'll only listen to you, and the rest of us, even Grandma, might as well be outsiders."

Though Susu said this, Xiaowu understood her true concern. Susu feared that genuine affection might develop between Xiaowu and Sichen.

So Xiaowu played along, saying, "How could that be? Sichen is so gentle and kind to me, and even more so to his family. Sister, you're overthinking it."

After she finished speaking, she wasted no time and quickly headed to her room on the second floor.

Susu was visibly upset. She angrily slammed the walnut she was holding onto the coffee table and said, "Does she really think she's part of this family? Who does she think she is?"

Just then, Sicong finished a round of his game, looked up coldly, and said, "Why are you letting her get to you? Do you really believe everything she says? I don't think our brother treats her any better than us. And have you forgotten why he insisted on marrying her in the first place?"
