C19 Fake!

Sichen took a deep breath, feeling something was off. Just a moment ago, everything seemed easygoing, but now the atmosphere had shifted dramatically.

While he was pondering, Xiaowu frowned and said, "Sichen, you’re not having issues like the rumors suggest, are you?"

Sichen’s expression darkened slightly, and he frowned in annoyance. "You know, questioning a man's abilities in that area is risky, right?"

"I wasn’t doubting you. Our Sichen is definitely the best," Xiaowu replied with a slight smile, though her words seemed to irritate Sichen.

He quickly let go of her, turned away, and sat coldly to the side, muttering, "Fake!"

Meanwhile, outside the door, Susu was pressing her ear against it, trying to catch any sounds from inside.

"Strange, there were noises just now. Why did it suddenly go quiet?" Susu whispered to herself, feeling uneasy. She continued, "Could it really be over so soon? Maybe the rumors are true, and my brother really..."

"What are you sneaking around outside our brother’s room for?"

A hand suddenly landed on Susu’s shoulder, startling her. She quickly covered Sicong’s mouth, who had appeared behind her, and whispered, "Shh!"

She whispered a few words in Sicong's ear, and he asked with a puzzled expression, "Are you sure?"

"Of course, I've been here listening the whole time. How could it be fake?" Susu replied with absolute certainty.

"No wonder our brother never has any women around. Turns out he has his own reasons," Sicong sighed, then added, "Alright, there's nothing more to hear here. Let's go."

Susu nodded silently and said, "Great, I'll call Mom later and tell her all about this."

"Why would you tell Mom about his private matters?" Sicong asked as they walked back to their rooms, discussing quietly, not noticing that Yuh Ya, standing in the corner with the old lady, was watching them.

"Are you clueless?" Susu pinched Sicong and continued, "If our brother can't have children, and the family business is handed over to him, what future do we have?"

Sicong, who never cared much about the family inheritance, couldn't help but raise an eyebrow and said, "Sis, don't look at me like that. I'm not cut out for that!"

"How did I end up with such an unambitious brother? Why don't you think about our future and Mom's? If the family is handed over to our brother, what kind of life will we have?"

Bai Susu shot him a sharp look and continued, "Think about all those women you keep on the side, spending hundreds of thousands a month on their whims. Dad spoils you, but if it were our older brother in charge, do you think you'd still be living this life?"

"I..."

Bai Sicong was silent for a moment. He knew that if he could inherit the family business, his mother and sister would be set for life, and he could continue living as he does now—or even better.

...

The room was quiet, the atmosphere a bit tense. Bai Sichen hadn't spoken a word for a long time. Xia Xiaowu slowly sat up, adjusting her disheveled robe. She knew her tactic had worked. Whether Sichen truly wasn't interested or was just pretending, it was clear he didn't think much of her.
