C2 Tie Him Up!

With a loud thud, Xia Xiaowu accidentally pushed the drunken Bai Sichen too hard, causing him to fall back against the headboard. His head hit the nightstand, and he collapsed without a sound.

Xia Xiaowu froze for a moment before gently nudging him. "Hey!"

There was no response.

"Could he be... dead?" she wondered, taking a sharp breath. She instinctively reached for the light switch but hesitated. She remembered the rumors about Young Master Bai's supposedly hideous face. Seeing it in the middle of the night might scare her to death.

Better not...

In the darkness, she fumbled around, her hand brushing against something.

What was that? It felt bumpy and uneven. Could it be...

She quickly withdrew her hand, wiping it on her clothes in disgust. Oh my gosh, she had just touched a disfigured face...

Calming herself, she was relieved to find he was still breathing. As long as he wasn't dead, it was fine!

Xia Xiaowu figured he wouldn't wake up anytime soon, so she decided to make a makeshift bed on the floor for the night. But then she thought, what if he woke up in the middle of the night and insisted on consummating the marriage?

With that thought, an idea sparked in her mind.

In the darkness, she fumbled around, tying his hands and feet securely before finally drifting off to sleep with peace of mind.

...

Morning sunlight flooded the room, casting a warm glow over the bright red decorations that gave the space a festive feel. Xia Xiaowu stretched, feeling an unusual stiffness in her neck—could it be a crick? Slowly, she got up, realizing she had been sleeping on the floor. Instinctively, she glanced at the bed and gasped in shock. The man she had tied up there last night was gone!

Did he untie himself? Xia Xiaowu quickly pulled back the covers; her clothes from yesterday were still on, untouched. Did he find her unworthy of his attention, or was he simply incapable? Puzzled, Xia Xiaowu frowned. Either way, the wedding night had passed safely, and there would be plenty of time to uncover the truth later. With that thought, she got up and went to freshen up.

In the bathroom, Xia Xiaowu stared at her reflection for a long moment, lost in thought. "This was all a mistake from the start, but don't worry. I'll make sure the Xia family rises again, and when that happens, I'll return everything to you," she promised her reflection, quickly splashing water on her face. Naturally beautiful, her skin was flawless, needing no makeup to enhance it.

Xia Xiaowu gazed at her flawless skin in the mirror, practicing her smile. She had to make it convincing, more convincing...

With steady steps, Xia Xiaowu walked to the door of the room. Without a moment's hesitation, she swiftly opened it.

The next second, a pair of curious eyes met Xia Xiaowu's gaze.

"The second Miss of the Xia family, who was pampered all her life, is up early? I thought you'd sleep in until noon," remarked the girl, Bai Susu, the half-sister of Bai Sichen. Xia Xiaowu had met her at the wedding yesterday.

Despite the harmless smile Bai Susu always wore, she actually looked down on women like Xia Xiaowu.

Xia Xiaowu smiled gently and replied, "As the eldest daughter-in-law of the Bai family, if I can't even manage to wake up early, how can I live up to this role? Besides, I don't recall you being up earlier than me, dear sister-in-law."

Bai Susu was momentarily taken aback. What a sharp tongue. Rumor had it that the second Miss Xia was spoiled from a young age, indulged by her parents, uneducated, and lived a lavish lifestyle, yet she was undeniably beautiful.

Bai Susu had witnessed her beauty yesterday, but today, without any makeup, Xia Xiaowu looked even more stunning, sparking a pang of jealousy in Bai Susu.

I thought she was just a naive goofball, but it turns out she's a sharp-tongued she-wolf. Could the rumors have been wrong?
