Maxwell had the look of someone who just realized that a time bomb has been placed on him.

"What?!. " Maxwell exclaimed.

"You can't tell mom, you cant possibly do such. Have you even considered the consequences of doing such?... Mandy for once be thoughtful. "Maxwell scolded her.

"You are right, have never being thoughtful, am a dim wit, a fool, a stupid person. If I wasn't stupid or foolish, I would have known that you were up to something, you scumbag!. "She cried moving closer to hit Maxwell on his chest.

"Am going to tell everyone, the maids, aunt Caroline, mummy, dad... "

"Mandy, you can't do that. This should be between you and I. No other living soul must hear of it and most especially not mom. "Maxwell interrupted her.

"Why can't I? Mandy asks as she bends down to pick what was left of her clothes.

"Mandy sweet heart, you know how her mother is, you know how she is, she won't be able to take it. "Maxwell said almost fidgeting.

"Why can't she? After all... We are just showing love to each other. "Mandy said sarcastically, quoting Maxwell's word

"Yeah, we are showing love to each other but mummy and daddy won't understand it, they wouldn't be able to comprehend it. " Maxwell said in an attempt to convince her.

"Well, am going to explain it in simpler terms so that they can understand, I will be speaking English not an unknown language, so what is there not to understand? ,I am going to tell her!. "She said as matter of fact.

"Mandy, let's be realistic... "

"I don't want to hear anything again, she interrupted and turned to leave.

"She is going to die!... " Maxwell said stopping Mandy's movement.

"What do you mean?. "Mandy asked turning around to face her brother, Maxwell.

"Our mother's condition can't take it, Mandy you may not know but our mother has a very weak heart. She won't be able to take it. She is going to die. "Maxwell explained to Mandy who looked at him with doubting eyes.

"That is a lie, you are making all of this up. "Mandy said shaking her head frantically.

"You can choose to kill our mother or keep this between us, "Maxwell said with an air of arrogance knowing fully well that he already got her.

He finally succeeded in getting in a card and he is so going to play it well.

"You are a very callous person, so wicked, heartless... I wonder why it took so long to see the monster in you. "Mandy said with venom in her speech.

"You may not now but am doing this for your sake. "Mandy didn't want to hear whatever it is that he has to say, so she went out of the room in annoyance.

As soon as Mandy got to her room, she sat down on the floor and began crying again. The pain never gets any better.

She was raped and lost her dignity and it had to be to her brother whom she loved, cared for and most importantly trusted.

Mandy trusted him, Maxwell to always be there for her, to always protect her against all odds.

She saw him as her guardian, her priority, her everything...

One of the maids on hearing Mandy loud sobs, tried to open the door but it was locked. The maid,Lisa tried to open the door but it was all to no avail. She was really scared for her Mandy, she began to wonder if something bad had happened to Mandy.

Lisa was worried, in her eight years of working for the Maximus, she had never seen a tear drop from Mandy's eyes and now for that cheerful, little girl to be crying out loudly... Something bad must have really happened.

"Ma'am, please open the door, Lisa begged from the other side.

Mandy knew there was someone banging her door endlessly and relentlessly but she couldn't decipher whose voice it was. She was so tired from crying from a long time.

Maxwell heard the noise from his room and went out of his room to check out the situation.

He only saw a scared and worried maid, begging Mandy to open the door.

"Why do you want her to open the door?. " Maxwell questioned Lisa.

"I heard her loud sobs and I am worried, something might have happened to her...

"Are you delusional right now? I can't seem to hear anything? So, what are you talking about?... " Maxwell queried rudely.

"Sir, believe me... I heard her crying. "The maid said truthfully.

"Something must have happened,I can't hear anything anymore... "

The maid was still talking but Maxwell rushed to get the spare key to Mandy's room. He felt maybe she committed suicide.

After searching frantically, he finally got the spare key.

He tried opening the door and luckily Mandy didn't insert the key from the other side. The door opened but when they tried to push it open, something was blocking it slightly.

Maxwell and the maid, Lisa peeped and they saw that Mandy was sprawled on the floor wrapped in a blanket.
