C5 Friendship

My eyes were widening when they settled on a girl with a haircut that seemed quite familiar to me. Neon green streaks in black hair are striking at a funeral where everything is dark.

I spun around to see Alex chatting with a male. He held my hand tightly throughout. He held it constantly. He turned to face me, and I attempted to smuggle my hands out.

I grinned broadly and replied, "I'll be back," to which he nodded and grinned back. I felt the warmth leave my hands as soon as he released his hold on them. I moved in her direction.

When I yelled her name, she turned around to see who it was.

Sharon yelled, "Hey!" She came hugging me, saying, "What a small world," and I grinned and hugged her back. I had the impression that, despite the fact that we had only met that day, we had known each other forever.

She regarded my outfit and said, "Hey." I backed away.

She winked. "Someone's looking hot." Her gaze swept the throng. "Where's your guy?"

"He—"

We both looked at Victoria when a voice interrupted our talk, giving Sharon a cute smile while she completely disregarded me and said, "Hey, Sharon"

Sharon sounded uninterested as she deadpanned, "Hey." I asked, "What are you doing here?"

Of course I'm going to be here. Coach died, she said.

Sharon yelled, "You hated Coach." "You've always wanted him to pass away, remember?"

Eyes were rolling, Victoria said. Her eyes eventually settled on me, and she growled, "That was just for fun. By the way, tell your friend here to stay away from my guy."

I've spent my entire life dealing with bitches.

This one bitch won't be a problem to deal with.

She tossed her hair off, and I almost laughed as it hit a poor guy's face behind her. "He only likes people like me. I'm beautiful." He solely favours adaptable women in any case.

Victoria frowned, and Sharon yelled, "Bitch, please; I can remove 90% of your 'beauty',, I laughed.

"And," I tacked on. I responded, "It's impressive that you are flexible enough to have your foot in your mouth and your head up your ass all at the same time," and Sharon hooked her arms around mine as we both laughed. Victoria's ears were emitting fire-like smoke.

As soon as she left, Sharon and I gave each other high fives.

I questioned, "You always hated her."

Sharon responded, "I am not a gynaecologist, but I know a cunt when I see one," and I chuckled.

I rolled my eyes and muttered, "I want to high-five her in the face with a brick, covered in spikes and dipped in poison."

Sharon remarked, "She can swim in acid while wearing a straight jacket," and I chuckled.

I warned, "She can choke on her poop."

Sharon exclaimed, "She can go step on a lego!" and I gulped.

"That's just downright cruel."

Sharon responded, "Well, what can I say?" and I once more chuckled. Her laughter abruptly stopped, and I noticed that she was staring back at me.

When I looked back, I saw the ex who had visited the bakery that morning. He was speaking to Alex while wearing a suit. Both of them were grinning about something. So, does Alex know Noah?

Is that, then?

Sharon scowled at Noah, "Yup. That bag of shit himself." Noah abruptly turned to gaze at us, and Sharon's eyes became larger. When Alex's eyes landed on mine, I grinned at him and he grinned back, which warmed my heart.

Noah began to approach us, with Sharon taking a very resolute attitude.

Sharon pulled my arm along with hers as we made our way through the crowd, yelling, Noah was approaching us when I turned around to look behind me and saw him grinning widely. He stood in Sharon's way, blocking her path. "Gotcha!"

"Get the fuck off my face," I said.

I uneasily watched as they both got into another argument. I couldn't help but feel sorry for Noah, as he soon left with a shattered, dejected expression once more. Sharon turned to face me while exhaling forcefully. Although she smiled, I could see she was sad.

I turned around when Sharon inquired, "So, who is your guy?"

I said, "He is not my guy," and she rolled her eyes. The person Noah is conversing with

Sharon's eyes widened, and she prepared to speak when the speaker abruptly stopped her. I immediately walked to Alex as he was seated next to me while everyone else went to their seats to prepare. He grasped my hand and clasped it with his while grinning.

Just a friendly gesture, really.

It's awfully unfriendly.It's awfully unfriendly.

I was the only one who could see how much Alex admired his instructor after the funeral orations got going. How friendly he was to his friends, How much he had cherished his time in high school. As I listened to all the tales, I grinned.

Alex concluded his speech by saying, "I always knew how to play basketball even before I joined the team, but the coach taught me not only how to play it but also how to win it. Thank you, Coach." He reconnected his fingers with mine after I returned his smile.

He hasn't let go of my hand since this morning. I'm letting Alex into my life far too quickly. I must not permit that to occur. Be wary of people Olivia. They won't help you in the long run.

I slipped my hand out of his grasp at that moment and looked away out of concern for his reaction.
