C5 GRACE CRIES

Cynthia walks closer to Alfred accompanied by a brown skin man who seemed to be poor and helpless. You could see his lean body under the nice dress he wore.

"Hi babe," Cynthia muttered at getting to him, giving him a hug as he hugged her back, gazing that the lean man who stood beside her staring at them.

"And who is this guy?" He questions as Cynthia turns to the man.

"His name is Mendel babe, I saw him on the street and he was looking for some cash to feed so I hired him for a role,” Cynthia responded with a smile.

Alfred was confused of what she was saying and wanted a clearer explanation of what she meant

“What role are you talking about dear?” Alfred Asked.

“I told you I have a genuine plan which is going to walkout just fine. Mendel is already informed a lot about Grace already, the only thing remaining is for him to do as plan,” Cynthia said

We have the presence of the Journalist here and we will have to feed them with some information, where is Grace?” She concluded.

Alfred though confused of what she was saying had to reply “Grace is upstairs and does not want to come down,”

"Why? I thought she was preparing the whole day," Cynthia asked.

"She is just furious and does not want to come down due to what he said to her,”

"Why would you get angry with her? I told you no matter what; don't get angry at her for today. You need to find a way to bring her down. I have led my plans for too long. It will be shameful if our plans are defeated," she said angrily as Alfred walks closer to her-shoulder her as she pushes him away.

"Really? Are you seeing the cameras? They are looking for stories to publish, don't give them any sooner," Cynthia added.

"What do I care, sooner, everyone would know about us," Alfred responded sarcastically as they both laughed.

"You should wear this; you can hear me from whichever distance," Cynthia said handing him a Bluetooth device. Alfred gets it fixing it on his ear, still imagining what Cynthia had cooked for Grace.

"What are your plans?" He asked but rather than a reply, she kept mute sighting someone from afar. Alfred turns to see who Cynthia was gazing at with such fury.

"Alfred Jerome," the unknown came called out to him walking closer. Alfred smiled at the sight walking towards the person and hugging him.

He was still surprised why Cynthia would not be happy to see his best friend Parry who is known to be opened minded.

Together with Parry was his wife Mrs Roselyn popularly called Mrs manful.

"Mr and Mrs Parry Manful," he said hugging Parry and giving Roselyn a perk on the chin.

"How are you, my love?" Roselyn responded.

"You both look cute," Alfred said spinning Roselyn.

"Hey, dude, not my wife, spins yours," parry said, as the three of them laughed.

"Mrs Manful," Cynthia hypocritically called out.

"Hey, Cynthia, I didn't see you there," Roselyn responded.

"Really!” Cynthia exclaimed but Rosalyn ignored her turning to Alfred.

"Where is Grace?” she asked.

"She is upstairs, she has refused to come down," Alfred responded as Roselyn turns to walk upstairs but remembers he did not give Cynthia any response.

"Today is the celebration of a Jerome. It is only a member of the family I notice.” After she uttered these words, she went upstairs to meet Grace, leaving her husband, Alfred and Cynthia to discuss.

Alfred knew for sure Cynthia wasn't happy with that response, but couldn't help her at the moment. Cynthia in return feeling helpless, walked away accompanied by Mendel.

Those lines that proceeded out of Roselyn's mouth goaded her a lot, but she couldn't say anything there.

"She is right, I’m not a Jerome! I mean, for now, but when I become one, I'll teach her a lesson," she thought to herself.

"Grace," Roselyn called out, opening the door. When entering, she saw Mrs Travis sitting with Grace.

"Mrs Travis!" she screamed immediately in admiration of her dress. "You look, beautiful ma'am," she added, turning to Grace who sat on the bed looking pale and her eyelids swollen.

Mrs Travis had to leave knowing that Roselyn was just the right person to come in as Grace refused to tell her anything.

"What is wrong Grace, tell me immediately?” Roselyn asked,

Grace tried her best to keep it to herself but couldn’t help. As it is said, a problem shared is a problem half solved.

"It's Alfred, I think he is up to something and whatever it is, it wouldn't be good," she hissed, breaking into tears. Roselyn for sure knew there was something up somewhere but as her husband instructed, she has to say nothing to Grace.

"It's okay dear, we are going to figure that out, just dress up let us go down," Roselyn said, trying to cheer her up.

"I don't know what to wear. I do not want to be humiliated," Grace replied.

"I'll help you with that, just go freshen up while I choose a dress for you, you can’t be sitting here crying. I do not want any shame coming to you.

You are the first daughter-in-law of this house and staying away from the party will only give you a bad name,” Roselyn said as Grace agreed to it rushing into the bathroom and getting a quick bath.

Grace coming out of the bathroom found Roselyn standing close to her wardrobe with her eye widen by what she saw.

"You have all these nice dresses, and you still don't know what to wear? Outrageous," Roselyn in great disbelief said.

"My father-in-law bought them for me, I don't think I'll look good in them," Grace responded as Roselyn stared at how weird she thought.

"Let's try this; it will fit your skin," Roselyn said, pulling a cloth out of the wardrobe.

Alfred could not help it, he knew how bad Cynthia felt by what Roselyn said and for sure, she had said that to annoy Cynthia.

Alfred stairs towards the direction Cynthia headed but could not see a tress of her so he excused Parry so as to go in search of her.

"Excuse me, man, I need to talk to Cynthia," Alfred said to Parry.

"Are you still going on with that plan?" Parry asked so as to confirm but Alfred turning to him was furious.

"Is there any problem with that?" he responded.

"No man," he said noticing Alfred's mood swing. He knew for sure it was his wife’s response that was hurting them both but could not help.

“I just think today isn't the best day for this. It was mom's birthday; it would be an embarrassment for her and also the entire family. They are cameras everywhere; do you want to call the attention of everyone?" Parry asked.

"Grace is like a snitch who will never leave without an embarrassment. She is stubborn and would not let me be. All I want is a way she will get out of my life for good and if you really care for her, why don’t you marry her instead,” Alfred said noticing how hash is sounded and how annoyed Parry was getting had to say something to claim him down.

“I have been feeling embarrassed from the day we got married, I have never taken her for meetings, never taking her out nor do anything fun being that she is a local and low class girl. If you do not mind, I would like to take my leave,” Alfred added.

At his leave, Parry pulls out his phone, putting a call to his wife who did not hesitate responding.

"How is Grace?" he asked at response.

"She is fine, and he?” she responded.

"Alfred still once Grace out of the mansion despite my effort in making him recognize today as a very bad day for that but he choices today so Grace would never want to come back,”

"What? Where is he?" Roselyn asked.

"He is with Cynthia, they are discussing right and I can spot them close to the laundry room,”

"Try going closer to them, and try listening," Roselyn said ending the call.

"Who was that?" Grace asked.

"My husband, we had a business to attend," Roselyn said waving aware further questions and helping Grace Zip her gown.

"You look good, my words are not enough to explain the goddess you look like," Roselyn praised staring at Grace in admiration.
