C11 Lo Li Hates Me

"Wow, it smells amazing, Xiao Zhu. Is this your chef? The noodles look delicious," Feng Wuqing asked curiously.

Xiao Zhu paused for a moment, glanced at Lo Li, and after a brief hesitation, replied, "Yes, it's the chef I brought from home. They're one of us."

Lo Li paused, unsure why Xiao Zhu said that, but quickly lowered her head, set down her bowl, and turned to leave with her plate.

"Your Highness, if you find Princess Mingyue, what do you plan to do with her?" Xiao Zhu suddenly asked.

Ximu Longchen pondered for a moment. "If she's willing to hand over the item, I can ensure she lives comfortably for the rest of her life. But becoming the Crown Prince Consort is out of the question."

Feng Wuqing couldn't help but roll his eyes at this. "Marry her off to the guard dog at your estate, perhaps?"

Ximu Longchen snorted. "Even marrying Weiwu would be an honor for her."

"If she refuses to hand it over, we'll take the item and eliminate her."

Neither Feng Wuqing nor Xiao Zhu found anything wrong with Ximu Longchen's response, as the prince was known for being cold-hearted and ruthless in achieving his goals. To him, people in the world were simply divided into two categories: those who mattered and those who didn't.

If someone isn't one of us, they're just irrelevant. And if they're irrelevant, why should it matter to him whether they live or die? Marrying into the Crown Prince's household is just giving her a place, a way to survive.

But when Lo Li heard this, every word pierced her heart.

Princess Mingyue? That's her, isn't it?

Your Highness? The only one who could be called that is Crown Prince Ximu Longchen from Ximu. So, he's in Yancheng.

Well, Ximu Longchen, you came to Yancheng and just watched as your fiancée was bullied and sent to the Myriad Flower Tower. Not only did you not rescue her, but you also want her to marry a mere servant in the Crown Prince's household.

Lo Li took a deep breath, already holding a grudge against this Crown Prince Ximu Longchen.

Lo Li had barely reached the kitchen when Xiao Leng came running in on his little legs.

"Lo Li, my brother wants to know if there are any more noodles in the kitchen. He'd like two more bowls."

Lo Li nodded, glad she had made extra. She kept just a small bowl for herself and let Xiao Leng take the rest.

However, after Xiao Leng left, an uneasy feeling settled in her heart, as if something bad was about to happen.

She quickly finished her noodles, then hurriedly fetched a basin of water, tinkering with it under the dim light.

In the front yard, Xiao Leng came over carrying a tray with three large bowls. The three men and a young boy devoured everything like a whirlwind.

“Wow, this is delicious! Even better than what the cook makes at home. Hey, Xiao Zhu, when did you get such an amazing cook?” Feng Wuqing asked, wiping his mouth with satisfaction.

Xiao Zhu hesitated for a moment, then knelt on the ground. “Your Highness, please forgive me for deceiving you. Lo Li isn’t a cook I brought from home; he’s a post-mortem examiner I just hired.”

“No way! You actually deceived His Highness over a post-mortem examiner?” Feng Wuqing was utterly shocked.

Xiao Zhu gave a wry smile. “I’m new here, without money or connections. Running an office isn’t easy. I finally managed to hire a post-mortem examiner who doesn’t ask for much and has some skills. I was afraid you’d be angry and have him killed. I swear on my life, Lo Li is definitely not a spy.”
