C53 Jude is my stalker
Freya’s Pov
The words of Jude took over my sanity. I couldn't push it away and it had some eerie aura and feeling to them. His words were like a boomerang, it returned to me every damn time.
Fool, you are dancing on an enemy’s sword.
Fool, you are dancing on an enemy’s sword.
His words were on a loop in my head until I began to feel dizzy. I pressed the flush button and the toilet’s water changed white with a pressured clean water, flushing my urine.
That old fool just wanted a reaction from me. He wanted to scare me off so that I won't join the multi-billion dollar group.
He had to do better with his threat. Who would buy into such rubbish and step down.
But are you not curious? My conscience prompted. Off course I was curious, what better explanation than the replay of words I felt in my head.
I was curious but there was no lead and worse I could be following the wrong train and falling directly into the hands of my enemy.
Opening the toilet door to the women's convenience, I gaited out and went to wash my hands under a running tap. After I had completely washed my hands with soap, I rolled out the tissue and a scream left me.
I rolled out the tissue in terror and saw the same thing. Now I was really scared. They were words scribed with red lipstick and it read:
You are helping the enemy, you are supporting. the enemy, you are dining with the enemy, you are in the wrong place!! Your father would be disappointed.
The words spelt out all through the tissue, as much as I drew out the words continued in a circle.
Fear gripped, I staggered back in shock, my palm lidded over my quivering lips.
What the hell was this?!
Who the hell did this?!
My knees buckled as a new wave of fear swept me, my stalker, he could be in here, in one of the toilets. The shuffling of legs dragged my attention to my heart that was in my stomach. Someone was in here with me.
Run!
Run!
Freya Run!
My mind chanted at me but my legs were somewhat too shocked and frozen to function properly. While my sanity told me one thing which was to sprint for my life, my body and legs were overwhelmed in utter shock to move.
Why couldn't I run, I needed to run for my life.
The Luna died on her Inauguration Day
She didn’t get to enter her office
Luna Freya was marked as the shortest Luna in the community of werewolves.
So many magazine headlines sprung up in my head, if I was to be found dead here, lying in the pool of my own blood. I bet it would surpass any scandal known to the werewolf world.
Run Freya! Run!
You know that moment when you’re too startled to move, your cell and every bit of sanity tells you to run for it but your legs that carry out the momentum were slow and confused and so you stay glued to the ground with a spiraling mind. Yes, that was how I felt.
But the sound of an unlocking door had me snapped from my reverie as I immediately sprint like I was in a marathon to the door. Opening it I stepped out, only to crash into a strong wall.
I hissed out in pain and rubbed my forehead. When I looked up I saw a startled Artemis.
He immediately held me and checked my body for damage as he said along the way, “are you okay? What happened? Why were you running? What took you too long?” He hurled all these questions at me while I focused on steadying my erratic heart and evening my breathing.
Another deep breath.
When I was sure I could speak and voice out words and they wouldn’t just come out as indistinct mumble, I went on to say, Artemis? Artemis,” I asked, touching him. I had to make sure he was the one and not a fragment of my own imagination.
“Yes yes yes, I’m here, what’s the problem,” he asked in a very much worried tone and I hugged him. Sniffing in his scent as it calmed my nerves and racing heart.
There was nothing that could possibly make me hate Artemis. He was my world.
He asked me again, “are you okay?” Checking my body once more for any form of scratch.
I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding, “I’m okay now,” I promised him.
“Why were you in such a hurry?” He asked.
“I saw something in the toilet,” I confessed.
No more secrets. At this point I might get killed and no one would notice my disappearance.
I guarantee The Court would be most happy to get rid of me.
Too bad that wasn’t happening anytime soon.
“What did you see Freya?” He asked like he was talking to an eight year old.
“I saw red.. red..ink.. tissues paper,” my words pretty much did not make sense, but I didn’t think anybody’s words would make sense at this rate. My heart and thoughts were in a complete frenzy.
“Calm down and tell me what you saw,” he said slowly. From my peripheral vision I saw the girls approaching me and his beta and gamma.
Argh!!
It seemed like I was doing the worst thing I hated doing.
Seeking attention and worrying others.
“You called Alpha,” Merona reported.
Artemis snapped his neck and sent her a fiery glare, “why did you neglect your assignment!” He demanded, “you were asked to be around her for a reason,” spoke again furious and I immediately felt my cheeks burn from embarrassment.
“It wasn’t her fault,” I came to her rescue very much, despising the whole idea of reprimanding someone so openly.
“I'm sorry alpha,” Merona apologized with a slight bow to the head.
“What happened?” Racheal was quick to ask.
Everyone looked at me with an anticipated gaze and I knew there was no way out of this.
“While in the toilet, washing my hands, I saw some write up that scared the shit out of me,” I directed them into the toilet, finding the place empty.
Hold on! What?!
Where were all the tissue paper I drew out with all the creepy write up.
Was I hallucinating?
Had I gotten that much crazy.
“What?” Loretta asked spying around just like everyone else including myself.
“There was a stash of tissue papers here, with a write up about ‘enemy,’” I said, turning around and scrutinizing the once tissue room that was not clean of tissue paper.
“I can't find anything here,” Iris said and “I know,” left my mouth hurriedly.
Everyone searched the toilet, opening and closing doors. No one was found and the toilet part disappeared like a cloud.
We heard a creaking sound and we turned back to the window, “the window was left open,” Oslo stated from the small window.
“Over here!” Rachael called out, we were at her side in no time as she pointed to the smeared tissue paper under the sink.
Gotcha!
Some of the write ups were still visible and immediately Artemis was by my side.
Enemy, enemy
That word rang a bell. The only person that had made a phrase with that word was Jude and he was the one I met while coming to the bathroom.
Jude.
The look of hatred he had on me brought the chills.
No no no wait! He couldn't possibly be my stalker, could he?
“The suspect left through the window,” Oslo announced.
“You could have been in real danger, Freya,” Artemis said and I knew my days of freedom and liberty were numbered.
“Jude!” I heard Artemis call under a clenched teeth.
Glad I wasn’t the only one with that notion.
Jude was my stalker.
It all made sense now. Everything clicked like a perfect puzzle.
