C56 In search of my stalker

Freya’s Pov

Three pairs of eyes turned to me, “who are you, Freya?” they asked the million-dollar questions that were roaming my mind.

Who am I?

Even I, didn't have the answer to that.

I stood perplexed as I absorbed the variety of eyes that glued on me for an answer that even I didn't have the slightest clue to.

“I think you might be wrong, even if Artemis hadn't marked me yet, we have been doing it and maybe my wolf has gotten used to being referred to as Luna. It must've gotten to her,” I explained my theory, trying to convince not just them but myself.

It had to be.

That was the only logical explanation.

So it got to be it if not I’d be a freak.

“Oh yeah yeah,” they said in unison, bouncing their heads in agreement.

“You guys! That makes sense, yeah that’s totally it,” Racheal confirmed a little too much.

“It explains why she started acting funny right after her inauguration,” she added to my theory, giving more points as to why I suddenly exploded with power so raw that even I couldn’t fathom.

Again the point didn’t stick, it didn’t add up and I knew that that couldn’t have been the logical reason behind it, it was something more, it had to be but if really there was something more, that would support the notion of me being a freak.

“That doesn’t sound logically or mentally right. We can’t even explain that theory,” Loretta reasoned out. Argh, why was she smart? I thought she was stupid. Really when I needed her to be like one of those plastic girls with no wit.

“I mean how do we explain that because——“

A sudden thud lands on Loretta’s head. A slap from Rachael, “What! Do you have a better explanation? Let’s stick to that theory and who made you the professor of werewolf hierarchy and power,” Racheal called out, coming to my rescue, “drop it already, does she look like she has a better explanation to herself or either of us,” she said closing every means of starting any argument at all.

High five girl.

Loretta was quiet for a bit before she muttered a not so convinced “okay.”

“Okay, well I’m still heading outside,” I declared.

“What?!” They yelled in unison and returned their gaze to me.

Merona stepped into a defensive mood but when she saw the look on my face she resolved to, “All alright, but I’m coming with you,” she declared.

“What? No, you can’t,” I told her, but that only made the others gang up behind her taking a supporting stance.

“No you can’t, I want to go alone,” I insisted but they were more stubborn.

Merona crossed her arms over her chest and leaned back slightly, “well it doesn’t look like you have much of an option there,” she pointed out.

“It’s either you stay back in here or we follow you outside,” Racheal popped in, pushing her body back a teeny bit.

“I absolutely agree with them, Artemis would have us thrown in the dungeon and torture us till death if a single hair on your body should be missing,” Loretta added.

Great, they were working together against me. Although the last part did make me blush.

Yey!! Who thought this day would ever come.

I plastered a fake smile and was about to speak when Merona beat me to it, “we are not moving, even with your freakish power that god knows the multiple theory behind it,” she said with a very serious expression.

A chuckle slipped out when I saw the tinge of fear passing through her eyes.

“What?” she asked a bit nervously.

“Nothing, I don't have much of a choice there, so let's get moving,” I announced.

“Good,” Racheal breathed out an air we were sure she wasn't aware of holding.

“No not you,” Merona said, crossing her hand in front of Racheal to block her.

“What? You are kidding,” Racheal spoke in a way that said you couldn't be serious.

“I'm serious,” she nodded her head at Rachel.

I almost blushed at a very protective and possessive Merona. She really did care for Rachael.

“I'm going and that's final,” Rachael let known. She wasn't backing down.

“It's dangerous, her stalker might be out to draw blood and I don't want you getting hurt,” Merona said in a sad tone, she reached for Rachael’s arm and explained, “you could get severely injured and I would not forgive myself if that happened,” she said staring deep into Racheal’s soul.

“I'm sorry Mer, I know you are looking out for me but I can take care of myself,” Rachael said and withdrew from her grasp.

“Rach—-”

“Oh please, if you are done playing ‘I love you and care for you and oh I don't want you to get hurt,’ could you meet us outside. I'm drained,” Rachael intruded impatiently, cutting their romantic moment short, although she did have a point.

If we let them, they were going to continue in circles.

“I'm going Mer,” Racheal said in a finalized tone and started to the door.

Merona groaned and muttered something like, “you both will be the end of me,” and ran after a walking Racheal.

We chuckled and followed them out. Just as we shut the door behind us, Merona turned to me and said, “stay close to me.”

I scoffed and retorted, “you wish, I'm going after him not lingering at your back like some scared child.”

She groaned again and face palmed herself.

“Stop acting like the only grown-up here, I'm sure everyone can handle themselves just perfectly well without you,” Loretta bit out, brushing past her, she stopped suddenly and just as Merona was about to defend herself Loretta cut in yet again, “which way are we taking,” she asked exasperated.

“I'm following my intuition to my stalker, you can,” the words faded out as I looked at everyone of them, before I shrugged and stated, “do whatever the hell you want or follow my lead,” which I had hoped they would really not.

“Let's spread out,” Rachael suggested and I was forced to not kiss the girl right here and now.

“How do we know what her stalker looks like,” Merona made a point. Making me want to slap her.

“You guys it's one a.m. in the morning, I'm supposed to be cuddled up on my bed but here I am staking the halls and searching for a freak,” Loretta wailed out, and the rest of us gaped at her speechless.

“This is not good for my skin,” she complained and we all shut her up with, “you can stay back!!” we yelled in agreement.

A fake sob emitted from her throat as she caressed her face whimpering, “I can't.”

I rolled my eyes and walked out of the circle that we had unknowingly formed.

“Wait for me!” they yelled at me but I didn't stop, I wanted to lose them.

“Catch up then,” I yelled from my shoulder.

‘Where are you freak?’ I said to myself as I stood at the intersection of two halls adjoining.

My brain was blank as my legs moved like they had a mind of their own, they carried me down a hall. Weirdly enough I felt a pull, my legs tugged at me.

I must be the craziest girl to have a connection with my stalker.

The chirping of voices and not so discreet noise, resounded through the spacious golden halls as the girls made their presence known.

The walls just ran down with no hiding spot. As the girls voices increased with curiosity as to where I was, I stood perplexed and confused as to where to run to or hide.

Presently there was no secret spot, no hidden sight, nowhere to conceal myself.

I inwardly cringed in frustration, ‘who builds such lengthy halls with no at least one spot for hiding, what if an ambush was to happen!’

While having my inner tantrum, the girls voices drew nigh.

I darted my gaze around trying to find a secret spot.

Fuck me!

The voice of guards approaching from opposite halls froze me in a confused dilemma.

‘Shit! Where do I hide!!’ I grabbed a fistful of my hair and groaned in perplexity.

In my frustrated form, a silhouette caught my attention and I started chasing right when I laid eyes on it. All my senses were senseless as I lunged towards my victim.

He opened a door and entered inside. I wasn't going to stop at nothing because suddenly my drive was fueled as I pushed forward.

Artemis' voice rang from beyond and I fastened my steps, quickly I opened the door and shut it behind me.

‘I guess he didn't mind locking the door behind him.’

‘That would have made them suspicious though.’ I realized his reason for not shutting it but now it allowed me entrance.

I squinted my eyes multiple times trying to adjust it into the dark room.

I knew he was here, the hair at the back of my neck stood pointed in confirmation.

My stalker was here, the rush and adrenaline gathering at one spot in my body, waiting to break out.

As my eyes squinted and got acclimated to the dark room, my eyes were able to spot dark outlines and shapes. And a peculiar shape caught my eyes, he was by the window, leg on the window threshold as he studied me.

“I caught him!!” I shouted out impulsively, in a single moment he had his hand over my mouth. I struggled as I muffled incoherent words in his grasp.

“I know the truth about your father,” he said quickly, hands still lidded over my mouth as my mouth dropped even in his hold.
