C63 Truth Revealed

Freya’s pov

I was hearing things or perhaps my ears has gotten dysfunctional. What was I hearing?

“Wh..at.. What?” I lost my balance and stumbled onto the chair for support. My hand supported my head and tried to even my breathing and even my heart that was about to jump out from my ribcage any time soon.

They quickly came to my side, “are you okay? Freya,” someone called, I didn't know whom, I didn't care.

“Get her water,” a voice urged, the pair of hands that once held me suddenly let go.

“What's your name?” I managed to ask my stalker. I should at least learn his name. I deserved that much.

“I'm Williams,” he replied. Ha! I almost laughed at that, Williams was not a fair name for a stalker. He should have something more sophisticated, something befitting for a stalker.

“Here,” water was offered to me, I grabbed it with shaky hands and brought it to my lips. The tip of the cup made contact with my lips and I drank like it was the only purest thing within and around me at the moment.

Setting the cup down, I turned to my stal….umm Williams and Racheal.

“So— my father is, ummm, Alpha?” my voice was a little breathless. They nodded in agreement and I leaned back into the couch and tilted my head.

“So that….,” I sat up again, “so that..it means, I'm.. I'm an alpha’s daughter, I'm an alpha blood,” I searched their eyes for any part of it that would tell me that all this was a lie, but not even a glint did I spot.

“How did you know?” My questions were directed at Rachael.

“Your necklace and when I was around you I felt that power radiate off of you, to make me submit and respect you,” she posed.

“Why..and you didn't, why didn't you say anything, all this while I was searching for my father and you knew the entire time but you didn't say a thing,” I stared at her.

She sat upright and squared her shoulder, “you are not the best listener, Frey, I tried, I really tried to tell you but you never ask of no one but yourself. I gave you so many hint but you would not take notice and so I let it go,” this wasn't the time of retrospection, the deed had been done, it didn't help me and most definitely got me nowhere, so I'd love she quit telling me how much of an asshole i was and answer my damn question.

“Tha… tell me,” I interrupted myself because that was just one of the numerous times that I didn't listen and proved right to her words.

“Remember that time when Jude came to inspect you, that you asked if I knew the name Demitri, yes. I specifically told you and I quote, ‘it’s not like I know him personally, just if you’re new to the Waterfall pack his name brought the chill and no one spoke of him.’ I tried to make you see that I was new multiple times but you wouldn't budge, I tried to tell you in words but I was scared,” she was sorry and took my hand, “I'm sorry for leaving you in the dark but I didn't know how to tell you, I didn't know if you'd believe me.”

“And why did you work with him,” I was still terrified and scared of my new origin, but I was coming to terms with it, much faster than I would have apprehended.

Williams… that still felt weird, nonetheless, Racheal and he shared a glance.

Another of this again? How many secrets I'm I locked out of?

“Can we trust you?” he held my gaze much more than usual and then there came that cloud of something enormous and big hovering in the horizon.

“What! you gotta be kidding,” I laughed out, “I should be asking you that,” I stated incredulously. If anyone should be asking for trust, it would be me not him!

“We are serious Freya, can we?” Racheal supported, holding equal stare.

“You guys are not—-,”

“This is serious Freya, once you know this, everything, everything you stand for and have known would change. This would change everything,” her orbs searched mine patiently for an answer. I shut up from my position and stared at each one of their faces. There was not a single gleam to it, nothing. They both wore serious expressions, waiting patiently for my reply. The whole court was at my table, I had the ultimate say, and just an answer of yes and no held so much power. My words weighed so much weight and gravity to it and I didn't know how to react to that.

All of a sudden I didn't want to know, I wanted to be oblivious, silent, and ignorant. The weight my words held every passing second made me want to cower back in fear. And I was many things but a coward.

Taking one deep and long shaky breath, my eyes opened and I braced myself for what was to come as the words left my mouth, “yes.”

“Yes?” they repeated.

“Yes, everything, I want to know everything,” I spoke with eyes shut.

“Once we say this, there’s no going back,” they warned.

Clenched fist, deep breaths, eyes shut and teeth gritted I muttered, “bring it all on, I'm ready for it all.”

“Very well then, you are gonna have to sit down for this,” those were her words as they both came to my side and guided me to an empty seat.

They took their place beside me and also braced themselves. Should I reconsider now? I thought .

“We…,” her words faded out and she adjusted on her position and took a deep breath. When she was sure that she had herself under control, she resumed, “we wanted to get you back, it was a plan to get out of here,” she paused and inspected me.

I had myself under control and I heard her words, I didn't want to deviate from the main course because of questions that could wait. So I sat still and turned her words repeatedly in my head.

“To get you out of the Waterfall pack—”

“Why? I couldn't help myself.

“We found members of our pack after it was destroyed, survivors who were in bad conditions, severely injured and we gathered at one place—-”

My thoughts intruded, ‘survivors, pack, destroyed, bad conditions,’

“We didn't want to be caught, so we hid over the past years and found another just like us and made he leader of us. Tobias,” Williams breathed in, “we planned to get you back when we heard words that you were alive. Our alpha was alive but then you were already married to Artemis, and moved down to the Waterfall pack where I followed you and met Rachael. She questioned me and when I knew she wasn't a part of this pack, I told her who I was, so we planned to retrieve you and get you out of here and to your people. That was why I started following you and I told our leader about discovering our true Alpha. we garnered a plan to protect you and reveal the truth but the court arrived and everything was changing, you were becoming part of them. Rachael asked me to steer off, saying that we should let you be, but I refused and came to the event where I was almost caught. Earlier I received an invitation to the event, that was how I got in.”

“Who gave you the invitation?” Rachael asked for me.

“I don't know, but he or she knew where I always hung out and dropped it by. He asked me to do my job. I guess we could deduce that he thought I was after you to kill you,”

“Jude,” both I and Rachael spoke. He was the one, he tried to have me killed just like he killed my father. I remembered Williams' statement when he said he wasn't going to hurt me and the weird connection I felt with him. Everything had a reason and the dots were connecting just fine.

“It makes sense, but seeing his plan did not go through he came up with another plan,” Williams thought what he could possibly be gaining from it this time around.

“What would he gain?” we all asked out loud. No one had an answer to either of them.

“Where was I when the pack…my pack was being destroyed?” I looked at them for answer, they both swallowed and said, “that we don't know, but we are glad you weren't there, your father was exceptionally smart, he must have seen the war coming from his rival and taken you away,” William suspected, it occurred he didn't know how I survived. Both he and Racheal, how did they both meet in one pack.

“Wait! Why were you here? You said you were new to the waterfall pack, did that mean that waterfall bought the survivors in the….,” I realized I didn't know the name of my original pack, “in my father’s pack?”

There was this memory that was threatening to spill forth but every time I thought hard on it, it vanished.

“What was the name of my pack?” I asked

“The Snow moon pack,” William replied with a downcasted look.

That name rang a bell. There came the memory again but it was suddenly gone like usual.

“So..did Artemis buy you?” I remembered how that human spoke of Artemis saving her, did my mate save them… oh he's so sweet.

“Did he save you by buying you as his servant?” I was all smiley and giddy.

Tears welled up in Racheal's eyes and she snatched her hand from William’s grip that I hadn't noticed at first.

“He was the reason I became a servant, I wasn't bought, I was dragged down here!” she cracked with fresh hot tears.

“What? I don't understand,” I looked at both of them inquisitively.

She brushed the tears from her eyes and shut up from the sofa, “he destroyed the pack! Our pack! He made us homeless and rogue!” She lashed out, her emotions and anger of all the years of being suppressed spilling forth.

“I—I don't understand what you are saying?” I reached forth for her arm but she yanked her arms away and pulled back.

“Off course you won't, you are in love with him! He killed your father! Alpha Demitri, destroyed the Snow Moon pack and my parents and siblings, grazing to ground all that we had built and using it for his own selfish interest.” her eyes held so much anger but I on the other hand was losing my sanity.

“No no no no!” I yelled, “you are lying!” I accused.

She chuckled as tears sprouted, “oh yes yes yes love he did, he has a book where he records everything, your father honoured to be in the pages of the book. He destroyed the pack and your father and our family's life. Did you know what he built with that land after destroying every life on it?”

“No no, don't say anything,” I plucked my fingers into my ears as tears welled up in my eyes and I heaved to balance my mind.

She snatched my hand from my ears, “he used it to build the multi-billion dollar group that you now belonged to.”
