C86 Tragedy
Freya’s Pov
Rachael was covered in blood, her hands to her body, she was shaking as the blood trickled down.
“Rachael!” I yelled and ran to her, but I was brushed out of the way, shoved out as Merona gripped her, “Rachael, Rachael, are you alright? Look at me, are you?” she looked into her soul, sniffing.
Rachael’s mouth trembled as she tried to form a coherent speech but it was proven impossible. Her head raced as fast as her heart.
“What happened, please talk to me,” Merona begged and engulfed her in a hug.
“Leilani…,” Rachael choked out.
“We have to keep moving, they could be on our tail,” Tobias said from beside me and I nodded in agreement, “Artemis would not stop now,” I said.
“I will kill him!” Rachael snarled and made to run in the direction we were coming out from before Merona caught her.
“Rachael no, no don't,” Merona pleaded as she held her back.
“He deserves it, he fucking does!” she snarled and writhe in Merona’s hold.
“What did he do?” I asked her pressed form against Merona’s body.
“He killed her! He killed Leilani,” she wailed.
“Oh my gosh, Rach..,” I hugged her as Merona stepped back, certain that she was the last thing she needed right now.
I immediately replaced Merona’s position and hugged, “Frey, she died in front of me, she did..,” her words got caught up in her throat. More tears soaked me, a sign that she was crying her lungs out.
“We have to go now!” some set of warriors ran over to us, their chest bare from the shift and fighting.
“They are right Frey, we have to,” Tobias urged me as we began running again. Merona was behind, it seemed as though she was on a different planet.
No one saw this coming, but I had half expected her to be glad, not glad entirely, no one would in this situation but I did imagine her much lighter than her gloomy self now.
She really was a bundle of surprises.
“Freya?” Tobias called me, swirling me around to face him.
“Yes,” I answered and held his gaze.
The wall that I had built strong enough was threatening to shatter, his eyes held so many emotions and it was still like hazy when I remembered how I almost lost him, the thought of staying without him.
The fear, panic, sadness, all those shattered the moment he took my hand in his and sprint with me by his side.
“I know this isn't the time, but did you mean what you said back then?” he asked in uncertainty, his voice held a little bit of panic to them however his eyes looked hopeful.
I took his free hand that was dangling by his side and peered at him, allowing all my fears and panic and love pour into my eyes.
“Tobias, I love you. I Freya Demitri love you,” I declared and though it was a time of fear, everyone was anxious, they all surrounded us and awed us in the midst of their miseries, our miseries.
A small smile, genuine and bright as the sun at its peak took over his face, “I love you Freya Demitri,” he said and hugged me.
His arms enveloped me and for once I imagined everything stop, time in a standstill. I got basked in his smell, they wrapped me like a bubble wrap as we hugged, we felt like we were the only ones in the world, with Artemis and all the chaos behind us.
“Alpha,” a voice called breaking us from our small world. Tobias disengaged from the hug, although never letting go completely.
“What's the problem?” Tobias asked.
“We have a few injured, they need to be treated or it could get worse,” he reported.
“Where is Williams?” immediately that question left Tobias' mouth, I began panicking.
Where was he, I hadn't seen him since the attack? I wasn't the only one curiously waiting for the soldier's reply, it looked like it was taking a whole orbit for him to answer and at that my impatience grew.
“He's among the severely injured people,” the soldier reported, and I felt Tobias go still. His jaw clenched from anger. He was pissed and I felt it resonate through me with the mark on my neck.
“I can help,” I said and gave his arm a little squeeze. His hand came up instinctively to massage mine.
“Let's go, I can help,” I said and urged him towards I suspected he may be.
The warrior led the way and we went, not before handing Rachael to Merona. They were guided to a shelter, there they were, all lying on the ground, bleeding.
My eyes roamed until they fell on a particular chestnut hair.
“Williams!” I yelled and scurried to his side. He grunted as he saw me, “Freya, you are here,” he smiled in between the pain.
“I… I thought he got..yo..u,” he forced out and I immediately hushed him, “Save your strength, you need all of it,” I urged him as I patted his head.
My eyes dropped to the side of his stomach, where he had been stabbed. It was bleeding, blood oozed out, his situation was worse than I thought, not just he, but every one of them.
“Are you alright,” I mentally slapped myself when the question left my mouth. Of course, he wasn't. I grimaced
“It's not as bad as it looks,” he cringed from pain, following his lies.
We needed to take them to the hospital real quick. He was fine not so long ago before Artemis attacked and now here he layed, unable to move an inch.
“I should have gone with him,” I mumbled and sniffed the tears that had unknowingly settled in my eyes.
“No, don't say that,” he said from gritted teeth, the impact of the pain searing. It was maddening.
“No no, this is all my fault, I caused this,” The tears flowed from the revelation of my words, “he killed Leilani, Rachael’s mate,” I croaked out.
“Frey, we could not have sold you out to the tyrant,” he said.
“We need to get all of you to the hospital,” my eyes roamed the bodies on the low grass .
“Where's Tobias,” I stood up looking around.
As I made to leave and search for Tobias, something held me back. I followed a grunting Williams, “please look after him,” he said referring to Tobias, “he's not as strong as he seems,” he muttered from pain.
“That's your job, so you better hold on and do your Job,” I told Williams before I moved out and went in search of my mate.
My feet grew heavy as I walked down, it was like walking down the aisle of crying people, everyone had lost someone today and it was all because of me.
“Where’s the alpha?” I asked the guard watching the disarray of people.
“This way,” the guard directed me to where I spotted Tobias talking with some guards.
“Hurry, get the packs,” he instructed.
“Yes alpha,” they bowed and walked out.
“What happened?” I asked him as he hugged me and swirled me around to the direction we just headed out of.
“To get suppliers and drugs,” he answered and guided us along the path that held the injured pack members.
When we arrived at them, we saw them still, unbelievably still, especially Williams. I got close to see his chest not rising and falling.
“Williams!” I ran and held him.
“Williams!” I shook his body,
“Please no, don't leave me,” I began crying as everyone ran to me.
“What happened to him?” Tobias bent and I was pulled back, by someone unknown.
“Freya give them space,” I heard Merona’s voice.
“Remember you are a Luna,” she whispered and I yelled out, “Williams!”
He couldn't die, please not him. I begged.
