C89 Rachel wants Merona back

Freya's Pov

I and Merona were doing the usual rounding, my date was close, and I didn't want anything to get in the way, so jogging was the usual every morning to keep me fit for the baby’s arrival.

“Merona!” we heard Rachael call and we both swirled round to face her running form.

“Is she running to me?” asked Merona in disbelief.

Still looking to run with Rachael, I answered, “I believe so.”

She stooped to catch her breath, “I have to tell you something,” she said panting.

“Okay, what is it?” Merona asked going to her side.

Rachael maintained her position, “Merona?” she called in a manner that suggested if she was churning she wanted to say over in her head.

This made Merona tensed, what was she going to say. Rachael stood to her feet, just as Merona was about to ask her what she lips connected with Merona’s.

She went rigid, then tried to pull away, Rachael quickly took hold of her and drew her back deepening the kiss.

I felt like I was intruding however I was curious to see how this one ends.

“I love you,” I heard and I went still.

“What?” Merona gasped and pulled back.

“Don't ask me how and why? I won't be able to explain,” Rachael warned Merona.

“What? I should not ask you to explain? Fuck that, I will, you avoid me for days like I was some epidemic, then run up to me and say you love me, but don't want me to ask why? Rachael you know me, I fucking will, so why?” Merona asked.

It was getting touchy, I needed to move but my legs did not have the will to.

“If you want to know so bad then screw you?” Rachael muttered aggravating Merona.

“Why? Why are you like this? Merona asked in a broken tone.

“Why?” Rachael chuckled, “I pleaded with you to come but you refused, do you know how that made me feel? Do you!” Racheal demanded.

“I said I was sorry a thousand times but you wouldn’t accept my apology, but you would forgive Freya,” she stated.

“Hey! How did I get into this mess,” I asked but no one paid attention.

“And let’s not forget how you stood by her side when you knew who she was mating with, and she has forgiven you but you won’t forgive me? You are selfish,” Merona accused.

I wanted to disagree but she was right, Racheal was selfish because she wasn’t the only one hurting, Merona was also and she had acted fine despite everything.

“I lost my mate Merona, to your alpha,” said Racheal.

“And it’s my fault? How?” Merona inquired.

“Did you wish I was the one that died? Instead of Leilani?”

“What?” Racheal gasped

“Why? Because it seems that way, it seems as though you wanted me gone,” Merona said harshly.

Racheal became furious, “don’t you ever say that?” She warned.

“I needed you the most after her death, I needed you but you were too busy hanging with Freya,” she pointed a finger at a shocked Merona. And once again they involved me in what I was completely innocent about.

“Because I thought you needed space, I didn’t want to intrude,” Merona’s hand flew up in exasperation.

“No I needed you, I wanted you, I’ve always wanted you,” Racheal poked her on her chest.

“What?” Merona gasped

“What? What did I say?” Rachael feigned ignorance.

“Oh don't play that game with me, we both heard what you said,” she turned to me, “you heard it too right?” she asked me and I nodded.

Merona took her hand and Rachael cast me a look of help, but I smirked and blew her a kiss.

“Repeat what you said please,” Merona practically begged, her gaze boring hole into Rachael’s own.

“Mer—-” she began but Merona cut in, “please Rachael, repeat what you said.”

“I said I want you, fuck this!” Rachael cursed as though she was making up her mind, “I love you, I fucking want you!” she confessed.

“That's why I was so——” her words were interrupted by a fierce kiss from Merona.

As if like an afterthought, she pulled back, “you are not using me to get over her,” Merona asked hesitantly with fear in her demeanour.

Rachael smiled, “I adore your doubt, it makes you look cute,” she giggled and Merona rolled her eyes.

“Of course it's you, it's always been you,” Rachael said with a smile.

Merona moved by joy, leaped Rachael up into her arms and kissed her so deep, “did you hear that, she said It has always been me.”

I rolled my eyes and laughed at the joy that emitted from them.

“Okay, you guys are making me jealous, it's my cue to go insearch of my mate,” I said and giggled away.

I was going to meet with Tobias when I saw the fire blaring from the trees, without much thought I ran in the direction where Rachael and Merona were.

“Rachael! Merona!” I yelled on top of my lungs,

“Rachael!” I called again as I ran towards the direction I was sure they were.

“What's the problem?” they asked and held me.

“Fire, fire in the woods,” I breathed out.

“What do you mean fire!” Merona demanded, hands already wrapped around Rachael in a protective manner.

“The woods are on fire. Oh my gosh, I have to go, Tobias,” I said in realization.

“Let's go together,” Merona said, immediately, Rachael caught her arm, “you are not running into fire,” she said.

“I'm not,” Merona assured her.

“Promise me,” Rachael willed her, worry written on in her face.

Merona leaned in and pressed a kiss on her forehead, “be safe,” and we ran away in the opposite direction.

“Freya be careful, you are with baby,” Merona called out to me.

But I didn't care, all I cared for was Tobias. I wanted to get to him.

“Freya, slow down,” Merona called from behind me.

“I need to get to him, I need to,” I cried out.

We ducked and jumped past trees, just as I was about to move, I'm shoved to the side, my side meeting harshly with the ground.

“Freya!” Merona yelled and rushed to me, in that same speed, a brutal force collided with her sending her thrashing to the ground.

Just as I was standing up to get to her, a chill ran down my spine as I took the person that stood in front of me.

“Artemis,” I whispered, afraid that if I voiced it out way too much he may actually be the one standing in front with my mate nowhere around.

“Freya!” Merona yelled and ran to me but she's captured before she could make it to me.

“Please don't hurt her,” I begged. Tears Welled up in my eyes with the thought of having to lose someone again. Rachael would be devastated and she would never forgive me.

“Well well,” he sang and stepped up. Someone came up and punched Merona in the stomach and she grunted in pain.

“Let her be,” Merona pleaded, “please don't hurt her, she is with your baby.”

“You shouldn't be worried about her, worry about yourself and being alive,” Artemis spoke and my heart dropped.

“I'll come with you, so please don't hurt her,” I said.

“Oh dear, you are coming with me, will or by force,” he grabbed my chin, “you have disrespected me more than you should, all this ends now.”

I began sobbing, crying at the thought that I would never get to see Tobias again. My head kept swinging to and fro, begging that he would show up.

“Don't bother straining your neck, your mate is not coming,” he confirmed the suspicion and I wanted to faint. My knees buckled and I fell to the ground.

“Let her go!” I heard and both our heads snapped in his direction.

There Tobias stood fuming, nose flaring.
