C18 You Look so Good

Sheng Yan turned around and saw it was Sheng Xiaoyun again. Her shadow, Zhong Xiaoxiao, was right behind her.

Xiaoyun had plenty of clothes at home, yet she always seemed to want whatever Sheng Yan had her eye on. In the past, she had taken Sheng Yan's designs and even her boyfriend. Now, she wanted the evening gown Sheng Yan had picked out?

In this new life, Sheng Yan was determined to stand her ground. She took a deep breath and said coldly to the store clerk, "I'll take this dress."

Xiaoxiao sneered, "Can you even afford it? This gown costs nearly ten thousand dollars. It might wipe out your entire monthly allowance."

Sheng Yan pulled out her card. "Go ahead and charge it."

"I'll pay double," Xiaoyun said with an apologetic smile. "Yan, anything I want, I'll get, no matter the cost. You're my sister, can't you let me have this? I've already offered double. Unless you can pay more than I can?"

Though Xiaoyun officially only had a ten-thousand-dollar allowance, her brothers spoiled her. All she had to do was ask, and they'd give her whatever she wanted. Even if Sheng Yan had some money now, her frugal nature would likely stop her from spending so much.

Xiaoyun was a VIP customer, and the store clerk didn't want to upset her. Firmly, the clerk told Sheng Yan, "Miss Sheng wants this dress. Please take it off quickly."

Sheng Yan's eyes were cold. "I was here first."

There was something eerie about her gaze, deep and chilling, like a bottomless well. The store clerk was intimidated and didn't dare argue further.

Zhong Xiaoxiao sneered, "Sheng Yan, why make things difficult for a clerk? Just take it off already. You belong in bargain bin clothes, not something as elegant as this dress."

Others in the store chimed in, "Hey, the young lady is offering double for the dress. If you really want it, offer more."

"If you can't afford it, take it off before you ruin it."

A few customers gathered around, eager to watch the scene unfold.

Zhong Xiaoxiao raised her voice, "Everyone, come see! Sheng Yan grew up in the countryside and now thinks she's a princess just because she's back in Sifang City. Wearing cheap clothes and daring to compete with Xiaoyun."

Sheng Xiaoyun was a well-known socialite in Sifang City, recognized by many.

Mrs. Wang, eager to curry favor with Sheng Xiaoyun, chimed in, "Xiaoyun looks so elegant in that blue gown. Sheng Yan, your style doesn't match this dress at all. Be sensible and don't cause trouble."

Zhong Xiaoxiao continued, "Sheng Yan is just a country bumpkin. Even if she's back with the Sheng family, she's still a fake. She can't compare to Xiaoyun."

Others chimed in with agreement. Sheng Xiaoyun basked in the compliments, her vanity thoroughly satisfied. She cast a haughty glance at Sheng Yan, hoping her gaze would make her back down. Everyone was pointing and whispering about Sheng Yan, who suddenly found it all quite pointless. Winning a dress wouldn't aid her plans for revenge, and she was tired of arguing with these foolish, jealous women. She had more important matters to attend to.

Just as Sheng Yan was about to return to the fitting room to change out of the dress, she heard someone say, "Four times the price, I'll buy it for her." The voice was magnetic and elegant, with an undeniable authority that made hearts skip a beat just by listening.

Turning around, Sheng Yan saw Tan Ye leaning casually against the doorframe. His eyebrows were sharply arched, and a cold smile played on his lips. Just standing there, he looked like a perfect landscape painting. Sheng Yan was taken aback, not expecting to run into Tan Ye here.

Tan Ye approached her and stopped right in front of her. "You look great dressed like this." He leaned in suddenly, his crisp scent dominating her senses. Sheng Yan's heart skipped a beat uncontrollably. This man had a dangerously captivating charm that could easily ensnare anyone. A very dangerous person indeed!

Sheng Yan couldn't help but take a few steps back, putting some distance between them.
