C248 Human Public Enemy(part I)

The sounds of gunfire in the Colosseum were like raindrops. The phone calls of the Roman police station were nearly destroyed by the residents. Some of the busybodies even recorded and posted a video on the internet. All of a sudden, the whole of Italy, even of Europe, was in an uproar.

The police chief of the city police, George, was on his way to the Colosseum, wiping the cold sweat from his forehead. He had just received calls from several senior Italian government officials, all of whom, without exception, expressed great concern about the situation at the Colosseum and demanded that he take care of it.

"Mobilize all the police force in the police station to go to the beast battle arena and surround him. Even if a fly flies out, I'll ask!" Chief George called his squad leader, Badorio, and shouted.

After giving instructions to his subordinates, Chief George quickly dialed the number of the local Roman garrison. According to the citizens' reactions, the intensity of the gunfire at the Colosseum could be called a small-scale battle. The situation there could not be maintained by ordinary police officers like them!

Furthermore, the Colosseum was an ancient structure that had existed for thousands of years. If he did not handle this matter well and cause panic among the people, he might not be able to keep the black veil on his head!

Originally a very common stormy day in Italy, it caused the whole of Rome to tremble. Rome was a tourist city, and the citizens' welfare was extremely high. They had long gotten used to a peaceful life, and today, there were suddenly gunshots in the city, as well as countless sirens, causing the people of Rome to panic. Some of them even thought that the third world war had begun!

Chief George stared out the window, bewildered. The driver could see that his master was thinking about the Colosseum, so he drove like the wind to the Colosseum.

After getting off the car, George noticed that the atmosphere around the Colosseum was strange. The policemen who had arrived earlier were extremely pale, some of them even holding onto the lamppost on the street while retching.

"You are policemen, not women! What kind of scene can frighten you people to such a state! " Chief George frowned and reprimanded his subordinates.

Captain Badorio shook his head, walked up to Chief George and grabbed his arm. He lowered his voice and said, "Chief … Seeing that we've been friends for so many years, let me remind you that you must not go in! "

Chief George, who was also a street cop, had ascended to the throne during the time of the Mafia, and was already used to the blood and gore, so how could he listen to Badorio's words? With a cold snort, he pushed through the crowd and walked into the colosseum.

Bartholomew sighed and followed George. However, when he arrived at the front door of the colosseum, he refused to go inside no matter what.

Chief George turned around to look at Bardorio and coldly scolded him, "Bardorio, the two of us have been through a bloody battle since the days of the Mafia. How come you have become so timid now?!"

Bartorio shook his head and did not say anything. Seeing this, Chief George did not insist and walked alone into the colosseum. As soon as he entered the arena, a pungent smell rushed into Chief George's nose. The smell was so pungent that Chief George hastily took out a handkerchief and stuck it in his nose, stopping him from spitting out the fast food he had just eaten.

"Just this little bit of flavor is not enough to ruin me!" Bureau chief George gave a cold snort and walked into the Colosseum with his head raised. After taking a few steps forward, he felt his feet slip. Lowering his head, he found himself standing in front of a dead body.

The blood from the corpses had been washed onto the road by the heavy rain, and the stone steps were soaked through. This was nothing. Most importantly, beside the corpse was a head that was emitting a foul odor. Pale meat stubble was exposed in the air.

With just a single glance, Bureau chief George felt his heart clench into a knot. He no longer cared about how he looked when he was scolding people outside the Colosseum. He turned around and ran out of the Colosseum, vomiting heavily as he ran.

Even though he was used to witnessing the bloody methods of the mafia, he was still unable to bear the sight before him. Only now did he understand why his old friend looked that way when he heard he was going into the beast fighting arena, and why those policemen looked so pale.

"George, puke! You'll get used to puking soon!" Bartorio saw that George was holding his mouth as he ran out. He smiled and walked behind George, patting him on the back. Looking around, he whispered, "You've seen what's going on inside. Do you think this is something that can be done by a human?"

Chief George looked at Bardorio with an incomparably trembling face. After wiping his mouth, he lowered his voice and said, "There are no ghosts or gods in this world. This matter is definitely done by a human!"

"Let's hope it's a man so we can arrest him!" Bardorio scratched his head and frowned, "Actually, I hope it was the Demons who did this. That way, I won't have to follow the army in later!"

Hearing Badorio's words, Chief George felt as if he were looking at the corpses lying on the floor again. His face turned pale, he clutched the telephone pole and vomited again, but his stomach was already empty and he could only retch out some stomach juice and yellow-green bile.

The army had arrived much faster than George had expected. Moreover, these people had a much better reaction than the policemen who had never seen a bloody scene before. Under the command of their leaders, the soldiers didn't take too long to place the corpses in the center of the Colosseum.

Looking at the corpses lying on the ground, everyone only had one thought in mind, and that was that the one who did that was definitely not a human, but a devil!

Some of them had their heads chopped off, while others had their body riddled with bullets. The most tragic part was that the ribs on their chest had been completely smashed apart and the sharp bone penetrated through their lungs and heart. Afterwards, their lives slowly disappeared …

"Do you think the person who killed them is still alive?" After a long while, Bardorio suddenly spoke to the people around him in a soft voice.

After a moment of silence, the medical examiner who was in charge of inspecting the trajectory softly spoke, "According to the signs of the battle and the trajectory display, that person should still be alive! And he might even be alive very well, because he didn't lose a single warhead at the scene, so we can be sure that he wasn't shot! "

The crowd looked on in bewilderment. They didn't know what kind of people were capable of doing such a crazy thing, and what kind of people were able to get rid of such a large group of heavily armed mercenaries without suffering any injuries at all!

Demon, this must be a demon, no one other than the devil could do such a thing! Everyone had the same thought in their minds!

The heavy rain was still pouring down non-stop. Blood had already soaked every inch of the colosseum under the pouring rain. The smell of blood was spreading in front of everyone's noses and their hearts were clenching. They did not know how to deal with the situation in front of them!

Chief George's expression was extremely unsightly. He had discovered such a thing in his jurisdiction, and the commotion had reached such a point that there was no way for him to hide what he had just seen. If he couldn't find the culprit, he might not be able to keep this black gauze hat anymore!

"Make your preparations. There's no way to hide this. Let's think about how we're going to explain this to the president and the public!" Chief George took off his hat, placed it on his chest, and lowered his head as he spoke.

There was complete silence. No one spoke. No one knew how to explain this matter! Could it be that he was telling the people that he had taken care of a group of mercenaries with ferocious firepower and even Gatlin? How could the people of Italy believe such a thing as this, which only happens in the midst of American lone heroes!

Just when Chief George felt that the situation was out of his control, he suddenly heard a clamor from outside the Colosseum. Immediately after, two policemen rushed in and whispered into his ear, "His Holiness is here!"

When Chief George heard the words' Pope ', his eyes shone brightly, as if he was a drowning man grabbing onto the last straw of the water. However, there was still a trace of doubt in his heart. Even though the events in the Colosseum were too tragic, the Pope, who rarely appeared in Rome, was not so abnormal this time!

But the Pope was the Bishop of Rome, the Bishop of the Roman Province, and the Bishop of the West; he was also the Vatican's monarch and the successor of Saint Peter and the representative of Christ. Even the President wouldn't dare to slight such a powerful figure, let alone a small Roman police chief. Bureau chief George did not dare to hesitate any longer and rushed towards the door!
