C1

My name is Ren Wen, my major in university is art.

After graduation, I had a lot of classmates who either went to be teachers or nibbled at home. Because it's not that easy to find a job in this industry. And I chose this industry, more because of my family.

My family moved into the village about my grandfather's generation.

Grandfather is a painter, and so is my father. When the news reached my generation, Grandfather's heart jumped and he asked me to go to school to learn painting just so that I could pass on my family's skills to others.

We don't paint things, we only paint people, and we paint dead people.

Grandfather said that we are the only branch left in the Soul Painting Master's faction.

Soul painter, as the name implied, drew souls.

Many people died with unwillingness in their hearts. Some people died because they didn't want to leave this world and wanted to stay behind.

There are rules of the mortal world and the Underworld also has rules of the Underworld. If one doesn't enter the Underworld after death, there will be a yin servant coming to catch ghosts.

Some evil spirits were powerful enough to avoid the Yin Deities and stay in the mortal world. However, these evil spirits were usually left behind to take revenge or harm others. They would attract Daoists or others to tame them.

However, if a soul had been drawn by a Soul Painter, it would be able to avoid the Yin Master, avoid the Daoist Priest, and remain in the world of mortals.

Grandfather told me again and again that we can't draw souls of vengeful spirits and evil spirits, and we can't use such tricks to do things that would harm the heavens and the earth.

Although admonition is admonition, taboo is taboo. When the family business was about to fall into my hands, something happened and changed my fate in this life …

In college, I talked about a boyfriend called Liu Chen. He treated me very well.

We soon got together, and I lived with him without telling anyone in the house that we were renting a house outside of school.

We even agreed to get married right after college.

Once his friend got married, he drank too much, and when he went to answer the phone, he fell down the stairs and died.

I was in a state of total collapse, unable to accept his death.

So I used my family's Soul Drawing Arts to draw his soul.

This matter had become my greatest secret. I never dared to bring it up with my family.

Since then, his ghost has been with me in the dead of night.

After graduating from college, my grandfather and father immediately asked me to come home.

When I got home, I realized that my grandfather was almost on his deathbed.

After that, I pitied him for three days and he died.

But before he died, he passed on the paintbrush that the Soul Painter had passed on from generation to generation to me. He didn't give it to my father.

Grandfather was in a state of joy and mourning. After dealing with the white matter, the family returned to normal. I took over Grandfather's job, and my father acted as my assistant.

Every now and then, someone would come knocking and beg us to draw their soul, but my father would pick out the identity of the deceased and the cause of death before choosing whether or not to take over the business.

My dad told me that if I draw the wrong soul, it won't just be a matter of provoking evil spirits, but also evil spirits. So we can't touch the taboo.

It happened near the middle of autumn, and one morning we stopped a Maserati outside our house. A woman came to our door and begged us to paint her soul, saying that if we could help her keep her fiancé, she would pay any price, not just money.

On the door of my house hung red ropes and copper coins. When she entered the house, the ropes broke and the copper coins fell onto the ground.

I was sure that her fiance would be angry after he died, so I didn't think that I should accept this kind of business.

As for my father, he rejected her request. He didn't even listen to her talk about her fiancé's death, he just said that he wouldn't draw souls for resentful ghosts and evil spirits.

After that, the woman knelt in front of my house all night, and my father did not relent.

But this was a great shock to me. I had experienced with my own eyes the despair of the departure of a loved one, and I felt a special sympathy for that woman.

So the next morning, when my dad asked me to go to the door to rush someone else, I secretly gave that woman my phone number and told her to call me alone.

After she left, we talked on the phone. Then that day, I made an excuse saying that I was going to the city to meet my friend, so I went to find this woman.

Her family was indeed rich. When I got to the address she mentioned, I realized that this was a villa complex, and buying a house here would not only require tens of millions, but also involve connections.

After I entered her house, she took me to her room on the second floor.

There was nothing on the wall but wedding photos, and there was a large refrigerator in the corner of the room. She opened the refrigerator door, and I saw the body inside.

The woman told me that she didn't want her fiancé's body to be cremated, and she didn't want it to rot, so she stayed by her side.

I was moved and I didn't think she was scary.

Then I asked her for an object she would carry with her, and I began to prepare the spirit.

If they wanted to keep the souls of the dead, not only did they need the ghosts themselves, they also needed the help of someone close to them.

Their souls needed to be kept in an item and be carried around by their loved ones in order to keep them alive. Otherwise, as time went by, their souls would be destroyed.

The woman gave me a pocket watch, and I took a lock of the corpse's hair, a little fingertip blood, and mixed it with ashes and put it in the paint.

Finally I sketched a picture of the man on a piece of paper, folded it up, and put it in my pocket watch.

After the soul painting was over, I warned the woman that her fiancé actually had a bit of resentment. I must do my best to help him deal with those undesirable things before he was born, and then I must not let my pocket watch come into contact with those objects with heavy yang energy, and not hand them over to anyone else. Otherwise, it would cause her fiancé to be shocked to the core and turn him into a malicious ghost.

She assured me that she would keep it safe, and even knelt down to thank me for everything I had done.

When he finally left the house, the sky had already started to turn dark.

I had already made an excuse to my father to stay at a nearby hotel without rushing home.

After arriving at the hotel, I took out a small makeup kit from my bosom and placed it on the bedside before changing into a new set of clothes to take a bath.

The temperature in the room dropped slightly. When I was bathing, I could always feel a pair of hands gently caressing my body.

Even the hands were on my chest, and then I felt the cold lips on my earlobes.

My whole body started to feel sore and numb. Then, I snorted lightly and said no.

That feeling had disappeared …

After leaving the bathroom wrapped in a towel, I lay down on the bed and opened my makeup kit.

Inside the makeup box was a photo of my boyfriend, Liu Chen. The one who touched me was his ghost, and in the years since his death, it had become a part of our relationship.

However, the living and the ghost can't sleep together. Otherwise, the ghost will absorb the essence of the living, and he will only touch me, and won't do anything else.

The lights in the room snapped off, and once again I felt hands on my waist, pulling me into my arms. Then I heard Liu Chen's voice, a little erratic, say, "I miss you so much."

I bit my lip and said softly, Me too.

Then, Liu Chen sighed and said, "I didn't dare to come out when I was at home. Otherwise, I would have been found out."

I whispered to Liu Chen that it would be fine in a while, and I found an excuse to stay apart from my father.

Liu Chen didn't say anything, but I felt his hand gently massaging my body. I bit my lips as the numbness in my body became stronger. In the end, I snorted and said no.

However, he didn't stop. I even felt the towel on my body being pulled off. Then, a black shadow flipped over and pressed down on my body.

He lowered his head and kissed my breast. Ree, I subconsciously hold his waist, and he gently opens my legs …

At some point, there was a layer of green mist in the room. My body felt sore from all the teasing, but my heart was panicking.

As the moonlight shone through the window, I could vaguely make out the ghostly figure on his body. Liu Chen's face had a layer of green lingering around it as he said in a strange voice, "Once, once okay? I really want to take care of you. I will do my best to not damage your manliness."
