C10 Chapter ten

LOTUS'S POV

My playing session with my son is cut short by a notification of a text. I'm surprised because only my parents have my new number.

Unknown:you must report for work tomorrow morning at Ricci winery at 7:30AM sharp,I will not forgive any tardiness.

Who could this be? How the hell did Luciano get my number? Anyway I save his number as rude sexy Italian, I sit on my bed and imagine working in the same place as Luciano. I'm sure they will choke each other. Speaking of choking,I wonder if Luciano is into such,I shake my head in an attempt to get rid of the unholy thought.

I make my way to the walk-in closet where my son is arranging my shoes.

Since I'm starting to work. I might as well prepare what I'll wear.I want to make a good first impression for my coworkers.I don't know how I'll handle it, it's been so long since I've worked.

I go through my clothes and I see Liam's curious face. He must think I'm rearranging after he put so much effort into helping me.

I pick a modest plain black dress,I don't want people thinking why work if I can afford all the designer. I picked a Gucci belt to go with it and some white pumps.

"Liam mommy is going to work tomorrow and you, my dear baby, will be having a tour of your new school",I say as I lift him. He's getting pretty heavy,my baby has grown. I remember when Nick and I brought him home when he was just a few pounds.

"School, argggggg grandpa said all this will be mine so why should I go to school?",he complains I can't help but peek at his cheeks for how cute he looks.

"Because you will need education to be able to take care of everything your sister grandpa will give you, and you have to work hard for your own dreams, don't you have a dream Liam?"Katherine says as she walks into the closet.

He thinks hard and says"I want to have muscles like Luciano and have a nice car and work in an office like daddy".

I tell him to go find his grandpa.

" What about you Katherine, do you have a dream?"I say as I wrap my hand around her shoulder and walk her to the couch in my room.

"Yes my dear I was thinking of opening a small cafe",she says and I can see how her face lights up as she tells me about it. My heart stops beating as she tells me she'll name it the Lotus cafe.

"Wow Katherine I'm so honored ,I don't know what to say ",I hug her and tell her about my new job.

We then talk about Luciano and I can't help but blush. "I know that look I've only seen you look this way when you first got married with Nick".

" You think so Katherine?I don't know if he'd be interested in a single mother". Who would want to go out with a single mother? Maybe I'm reading everything wrong and he's not even interested in me.

I touch my stomach and a warm feeling spreads in my heart,my babies deserve all the love in the world. I don't want Liam going through the distress he went through with Nick again.

No man can love another man's kids as his own so I'll just be the mother and father my kids need.

We head out to the kitchen,where mom is baking some cinnamon rolls and my stomach rumbles. And this makes Katherine and I laugh.

My laughter ceases when we enter the kitchen and find Dad and Luciano having some cinnamon rolls.

"Don't you have a home Mr Ricci?",I don't know what gets into me to make me say that but I can't help it.

Liam then walks in and says"Luciano my mom and Katherine were talking about you ,mom said that you'll be sexy,I heard them", oh my gawd Liam.

Luciano picks him up and tickles him"oh yeah is that so?",my baby says yes in between laughs.

I'm so embarrassed so I just clear my throat and put some cinnamon rolls on a plate. Everyone then bursts out laughing and I just continue to stuff my face.

I don't notice Luciano who stands behind me,he leans in and whispers"you think I'm sexy huh",I almost choke and he hands me a glass of juice.

"No I don't, Liam misheard me , that's all ",I say and look anywhere but him.

" Ooh all this sexy tension between these two is getting me all worked up",my mom says and pretends to fan herself.

Leave it to Mom to always try to embarrass me"mom really? I'm not even his type anyways",I get up to get more cinnamon rolls. I've already eaten four and Luciano is looking at me like I'm the most amusing thing ever.

"Don't worry mommy, you're my type",oh my,where is my child getting all this from.

"You're my type as well Lotus", Enzo says and gets the last cinnamon roll on my plate. I don't know why but I feel as though someone I love has just died.

I look at him as tears roll down my face and I see him panic. Everyone notices and is asking what's wrong.

"He,he has eaten my last roll and I really wanted to eat it ,I was saving it best for last",I sniffed. My mother offers to give me another but I just want the one Enzo has eaten.

"Look what you did you idiot, Lotus don't cry look here is my roll you can eat mine , don't cry okay", Luciano said and offered me his roll.

I take it and take a bite."Thank you" I say and my baby Liam offers me a tissue,I kiss his forehead and he gives me a hug.

"Don't I get a kiss as well Bella signora?"Luciano asks and this makes everyone laugh.
