C12 Mad Zhang Xiaolong

As Zhang Xiaolong was retracting his hand and letting out a sigh of relief, his senses returning to normal, two men wearing baseball caps squeezed in front of him. One of them reached out toward Mr. Bi, seemingly to check his pulse.

In a flash, Zhang Xiaolong shoved the man aside and, raising his hand, snatched the knife from Mr. Bi's grasp. With a swift thrust, he plunged the blade into the wrist of the other man in a cap.

But Zhang Xiaolong didn't stop there. With lightning speed, he delivered a kick to the stunned man, still holding the knife in his wounded wrist, sending him flying.

The rapid turn of events left everyone, including the girl nearby, in shock.

A collective shiver ran down their spines as they wondered if this seemingly simple man had lost his mind after killing someone. If he were to continue, they feared the situation could escalate dramatically.

Amidst the chaos, the sound of police sirens filled the air, and a patrol car quickly pulled up in front of the bus.

Someone must have discreetly called the authorities, and now, their timely arrival was a godsend.

"What's going on here?" the officers demanded, eyeing Zhang Xiaolong, whose hands were stained with blood.

"Help! This guy's gone mad! He killed Mr. Bi and was about to kill those two!" exclaimed the shaken thugs who had boarded the bus with Mr. Bi, their legs wobbling with fear.

They had been worried that if Zhang Xiaolong sought more victims, they would be first in line, given their association with Mr. Bi.

"He's the one who killed the man," the ticket seller, who had slipped off the bus, chimed in from behind the officers, pointing at Zhang Xiaolong. "The guy just wanted to switch seats with him, but he refused. Then they fought, and he slammed him against the window, killing him..."

"Put your hands up and step off the bus now!" the officers commanded without a moment's hesitation, their guns trained on Zhang Xiaolong.

"It's not what it seems; there's been a huge misunderstanding..." the girl interjected, trying to clarify the situation, but her words fell on deaf ears.

Just then, Zhang Xiaolong made a swift move, darting towards the rear of the bus as swiftly as the wind.

"Freeze, don't move..."

The two officers yelled, fully aware their commands were futile. They hurriedly followed, boarding the bus in pursuit.

At that moment, Zhang Xiaolong hoisted two men wearing duckbill caps and hurled them toward a window.

*Crash!*

The force shattered the window glass, scattering shards everywhere as the two men were flung out of the bus.

"Don't move, or we'll shoot," one of the officers warned again.

They knew all too well the dangers of discharging a firearm on the bus; a slight misstep could lead to unintended casualties. Yet, standing idly by while criminals brawled was even less of an option.

Thankfully, after issuing the warning, they saw the frenzied man slowly raise his hands.

"I didn't kill anyone. Those two were no good—they were the ones trying to kill," Zhang Xiaolong stated with composure.

The officers exchanged glances—one kept his gun trained on Zhang Xiaolong, while the other cautiously approached with handcuffs. He swiftly secured the cuffs, finally allowing themselves to breathe easier.

"You claim you didn't kill anyone. So who did?" they interrogated Zhang Xiaolong sternly after escorting him off the bus.

"He tried to stab me, so I pushed him away," Zhang Xiaolong replied honestly. "But he's not dead. You can check for yourselves if you don't believe me."

The officers turned their gaze to where Mr. Bi lay, bloodied and seemingly lifeless.

"Throw some water on his face, and he'll come to," suggested Zhang Xiaolong once more.

Before the officers could act, the girl with the sunglasses had already dashed back to her seat, grabbed a bottle of mineral water, and drenched Mr. Bi's face with it.

"Cough, cough..."

Mr. Bi, previously presumed dead, coughed and sputtered, shaking his head as he opened his eyes. "Where am I? Where's that girl?"

With a disdainful snort, the girl in sunglasses turned and walked off toward Zhang Xiaolong.

At that moment, her belief in Zhang Xiaolong's words was solidified. Those two men wearing caps were likely up to no good. Otherwise, why would someone who seemed so naive suddenly lash out and start attacking people?

"Hey, don't leave," Mr. Bi, who was clearly smitten with women, struggled to rise from the ground. Suddenly, he cried out and collapsed again. "My arm... my arm is broken. I just remembered, it was that punk who broke my arm..."

The other passengers on the bus couldn't help but look at him with contempt. This thug could forget everything but women, and getting beaten up like this seemed like just desserts.

As the woman with the sunglasses stepped aside from the door, Mr. Bi caught sight of Zhang Xiaolong in handcuffs, flanked by two police officers. After a brief pause, he quickly grasped what had happened. "Officers, I need to report a crime. This man broke my arm. I want to press charges. I want him behind bars!"

The police officers frowned, clearly recognizing that Mr. Bi was no saint, but they still turned their attention to Zhang Xiaolong.

"It's not broken," Zhang Xiaolong said urgently, stepping forward to grasp Mr. Bi's injured arm. "It's just dislocated."

Mr. Bi let out a yelp of pain and inwardly cursed. 'Does your family's dislocations start from the middle of the arm?'

"Stop!"

"Release him!"

The two officers hadn't expected Zhang Xiaolong to act so aggressively right in front of them. They were forced to raise their guns once more. With few people around, if Zhang Xiaolong didn't comply, they would be compelled to shoot.

"Don't panic," Zhang Xiaolong quickly raised his hands in surrender. Even with divine strength, he wouldn't claim to be invulnerable to bullets. "He really just had a dislocation. If you don't believe me, check his hand. It's already fixed."

The officers turned their gaze to Mr. Bi, who was now examining his arm, which he'd claimed was broken just moments before. "Huh, it really is okay?"

Finally reassured, the officers lowered their weapons and glanced back at the two men in caps who had been thrown from the vehicle by Zhang Xiaolong and were still unconscious.

"How do you explain these two individuals?" asked one of the police officers.

"I've already mentioned that I'm not sure why, but they were definitely out to kill him," Zhang Xiaolong said, pointing at Mr. Bi, then turned to the girl with sunglasses. "And her as well."

"They were trying to kill me?" the girl exclaimed in surprise.

"Yes, I noticed they were particularly focused on you when they boarded the vehicle," confirmed Xiaolong with a nod. "You can check for yourselves if you don't believe me. Both individuals have a needle on them laced with poison. A single prick could be life-threatening. If someone were pricked without their knowledge, the danger would be even greater. They could die unnoticed, and by the time they're found, it might be too late for any rescue attempt."

"How come you're so well-informed?" the officers questioned, skeptical once more.

"I saw the needles they were hiding and detected the scent of the poison. I only threw them off because they were attempting to take a hostage and flee," explained Xiaolong.

"Regardless, we need to take them to the station first," the other officer decided after a moment of thought.

"From this point forward, these individuals are under my jurisdiction. You are free to go," a new voice suddenly declared.
