C13 The Domineering Female Police Officer!

The two officers turned around, curious to see who dared to challenge their authority with such audacity. But as they faced her, they were momentarily taken aback.

The speaker was a woman—a female police officer, to be precise. Yet, she was so strikingly beautiful that it seemed almost scandalous.

The young woman who had stepped out of the car was quite attractive in her own right, but next to the female officer, she seemed to lack a certain allure. The officer's legs were exceptionally long and elegant, tapering from a full and perfect curve to a sharp, dramatic narrowing at the waist, which then led to a police uniform blouse that looked ready to burst at the seams. This contrast should have been jarring, yet on her, it seemed entirely natural—as if she embodied the very standard of perfection.

Her face was equally stunning, hinting at a mixed heritage with slightly blue eyes and naturally wavy hair...

In essence, the woman's presence was so flawless, it was as if she had been meticulously retouched by a master photo editor, leaving no imperfection to be found.

"Are you still standing there?" the female officer asked with a frosty edge, noticing the two men hadn't moved.

The officers exchanged glances. Under normal circumstances, encountering an unfamiliar individual in uniform warranted an inquiry—it was both their right and duty. But faced with the female officer's commanding and icy demeanor, they found themselves lacking the nerve to question her.

Professional protocol, however, prevented them from simply handing over the individuals in question.

"May I ask who you are?" one officer ventured. "This is our jurisdiction, and we need to take the injured and all suspects back to the station for an investigation..."

The female officer cut him off with an impatient wave of her hand, "You don't need to know who I am. You'll receive notification soon enough."

The officers were not inclined to comply with such an unusual request.

But before they could voice their refusal, one of their phones rang. After a brief conversation, the officer hung up and promptly saluted the female officer, "My apologies, Officer Ye. We will follow your directives as ordered by our superiors."

Officer Ye, a female police officer, didn't bother with small talk with the two individuals. Instead, she approached the two men in duckbill caps who were still unconscious and crouched down to assess their condition, her expression betraying a hint of surprise.

She then strode over to where Zhang Xiaolong stood. Her eyes, reminiscent of cold starlight, scanned him. "Who are you?"

"I'm Zhang Xiaolong, from Clear River Village in Qingyuan County," he responded truthfully.

He used to think Luh Xiaoya was quite beautiful, especially after she had spent two months in Yanjing and had grown even more stunning. However, it wasn't until he met the girl with the sunglasses that he realized there could be someone even more beautiful than Luh Xiaoya.

Now, he had to acknowledge that even someone like him, who wasn't adept at assessing a woman's figure, found himself deeply drawn to the physique of the policewoman before him.

Thankfully, his willpower was intact. He didn't let the sight of a beautiful woman cloud his judgment. After a brief glance, he quickly and deliberately averted his gaze to avoid getting lost in distraction.

"I'm not asking about that," the policewoman said, her voice icy and now tinged with severity. "What is your true identity and profession?"

"I have only one identity," Zhang Xiaolong replied, looking up in surprise. However, upon noticing her striking figure, he quickly averted his eyes, slightly embarrassed. "I'm a student who was recently admitted to Yanjing University, but due to... certain reasons, I'm taking a break and studying at home."

"Are you the College Entrance Examination Top Scorer, Zhang Xiaolong?" the policewoman hadn't even finished speaking when the astonished woman in sunglasses beside her chimed in. "You live in Clear River Village, your name is Zhang Xiaolong, and you were admitted to Yanjing University with the highest score in the national exam. But because of an illness... you didn't enroll and are currently studying at home, right? Your score was 780 points, wasn't it?"

She rattled off the details smoothly, only pausing briefly when she got to the part about his illness. She must have been pondering how he had effortlessly sent someone flying with just a gesture. Could his illness really be a case of being as strong as an ox?

Zhang Xiaolong nodded in confusion, "Yes, how did you know all that?"

"I'm Yang Jingjing. I actually came to Qingyang City specifically to interview you," the girl said with a smile, flashing her press ID. Glancing at the handcuffs on his wrist, she added awkwardly, "I never imagined we'd meet under these circumstances."

Zhang Xiaolong wiped his brow, though there was no sweat, "You're not going to report that this year's College Entrance Examination Top Scorer has dropped out and become a prisoner, are you? That would certainly make headlines!"

Yang Jingjing laughed, "You're quite the comedian. I was under the impression that a top scorer would be more of a nerd!"

"Now's not the time for conversation," the stern female officer interjected, "You need to come with me to the station."

"Alright," Zhang Xiaolong sighed. It looked like his troubles were far from over.

After all, he had nearly killed Mr. Bi, the thug, and had taken down two mysterious assailants with his bare hands. The police would indeed be remiss if they didn't question him.

"Don't worry, I can vouch for you," Yang Jingjing reassured him.

"Indeed, I can attest to this young man's character as well," another voice chimed in as a man stepped out of the car—it was Lee Donghua, the middle-aged man who had defended Zhang Xiaolong earlier. "He's been helping others from the start. His actions were in self-defense. Plus, it's unthinkable that our Qingyang College Entrance Examination Top Scorer would commit murder without cause."

"Mr. Lee Donghua, you're in this car too?" a police officer exclaimed in surprise upon seeing him.

Lee Donghua, recognizing the officer, nodded with a smile, "I was on my way back from my hometown when the car broke down. By chance, I ended up here and witnessed the whole incident. Officer Liu Gaang, I can testify that Zhang Xiaolong didn't mean to hurt anyone. Could we possibly release him for now? If there are any medical bills, I'm willing to cover them."

Officer Liu, caught between speaking out and holding back, finally turned to the female officer named Ye with an embarrassed look. He was not in a position to call the shots at that moment.

"Bring Zhang Xiaolong and Yang Jingjing back to the station, and do the same with the two assassins. No one is to question them; I'll handle it myself later." The commanding female officer seemed oblivious to the conversation happening before her, issuing her orders with crisp authority.

"Officer Ye, I am..." Lee Donghua recognized there was an issue and quickly reached for his business card to present to Officer Ye.

She, however, was unimpressed, not even sparing a glance at the card: "I know who you are, but it's in your best interest to act as if you're unaware of the prior events."

"What do you mean by that, Officer Ye?" Lee Donghua asked, his brow furrowed. "As a citizen, I'm within my rights to report what I've witnessed. Should Zhang Xiaolong suffer any injustice, I won't just stand by."

Officer Ye gave Lee Donghua a second look, her tone slightly milder: "I have no intention of abusing my authority to harm anyone, but for your own good, treat certain sensitive matters as if you've never seen them."

Lee Donghua paused, momentarily interrupted by a phone call inquiring about his whereabouts. After a brief exchange, he ended the call and offered his business card to Zhang Xiaolong: "I never expected to encounter Qingyang City's finest here. Should you need assistance in the future, feel free to reach out to me."

"Thank you." Zhang Xiaolong wasn't sure of Lee Donghua's identity, but it was clear he was no ordinary individual. He was also the only one in the car who had been willing to advocate for him, leaving a positive impression.

The female officer was keen to cut their conversation short. After instructing two other officers, she drove off with Zhang Xiaolong and Yang Jingjing.

...

In the interrogation room, Officer Ye leaned forward on the table, her gaze fixed intently on Zhang Xiaolong. Unbeknownst to her, the stance she assumed suggested a tension in her attire, a sight that would stir any onlooker.

Even though Zhang Xiaolong made a concerted effort not to look at her, he could still sense his blood racing. He couldn't help but wonder, 'Could this woman be the mythical fairy from the legends?'

But on second thought, he had nothing to fear. He was, after all, the recipient of the Shennong Inheritance, a divine power. Surely, he had no reason to fear any demon!

Comforted by this thought, he dared to lift his head, only to feel a blush creep onto his cheeks at the sight of the woman's alluring figure. Reluctantly, he averted his gaze once more.

"Do you know who the two individuals you threw out of the car are?" inquired the female police officer.

Zhang Xiaolong shook his head in confusion, "I was merely trying to prevent a murder. Beyond that, I know nothing about them."

"Are you certain you know nothing?" Her eyes pierced through him, as if she could see into his very soul, emanating an odd sense of pressure.

Zhang Xiaolong's brow furrowed slightly. Instinctively, he looked up again, but this time, he was unaffected, meeting her gaze directly. "Yes, I truly know nothing."

"You're lying!" the female police officer exclaimed sharply.

With no apparent effort, the table that had been under her palm split with a sharp crack.

Simultaneously, her fist shot out like a gust of wind, aiming straight for Zhang Xiaolong.
