C27 Iron Forest

In an instant, all the students and teachers aboard the helicopter were shocked into silence by the unexpected turn of events. Hai Yunxing was the first to snap out of it, urgently cautioning, "Han Xiao, please, don't do anything rash!"

Reacting swiftly, Han Xiao yanked Lee Kaiyuan back and tossed him aside with a look of indifference. "I don't want to hear another peep out of you," Han Xiao warned icily.

Lee Kaiyuan, still visibly shaken, slumped to the ground. Regaining his composure, he dusted himself off and silently made his way back to his seat. He cast a resentful glance at Feng Yixiu and the others but refrained from making any further snide remarks.

Half an hour later, the group finally reached the outskirts of the Iron Forest. As soon as the helicopter touched down, Lee Kaiyuan was the first to leap out. He looked back, a mix of defiance and resentment in his eyes, and sneered, "You'll regret crossing me!"

Han Xiao made a move to chase after him, which sent Lee Kaiyuan sprinting away in fright, quickly vanishing from sight.

"He's nothing but a jumping jack," Feng Yixiu remarked, holding Han Xiao back. "Let's not stoop to his level."

"I was only trying to scare him a bit. Do you have some history with him?" Han Xiao asked, his smile tinged with confusion.

"It's not really a grudge, just a minor disagreement. I might have made him run naked through our middle school once, which he probably hasn't forgotten," Feng Yixiu admitted sheepishly, scratching his head.

Han Xiao was taken aback.

You call that a minor disagreement?

"Students, we've arrived at the Iron Forest. Please, follow me down," Hai Yunxing announced.

The students then followed their teacher, disembarking from the helicopter. "So this is why it's called the Iron Forest—it's absolutely magnificent!" exclaimed the first student to jump out.

Before them lay a vast forest, encircled by an enormous metal net that set it apart from any ordinary woodland. The Iron Forest was expansive, and occasionally, strange roars could be heard emanating from within.

"This Iron Forest has been cordoned off by the Battle Companion Alliance. It's a large forest designed to contain the magic beasts and prevent them from endangering society. That's why there's a special metallic electric net around it. You may now enter, but remember to make the most of your time," Hai Yunxing instructed after a quick headcount.

All the students quickly began to form their own groups. Feng Yixiu naturally teamed up with Shen Ruyu and Han Xiao.

The other candidates were also actively seeking out strong teammates. Since Feng Yixiu's trio were all from Class D, nobody came forward to join their group.

"Everyone ready? Let's head out!" Hai Yunxing called out.

At once, the crowd scattered, heading towards the Iron Forest entrance with excitement.

As Feng Yixiu and his team were about to set off, Hai Yunxing stopped them. "Once inside, be wary of the magic beasts, but also keep an eye on the other examinees. Good luck!"

"Thank you for the heads-up, Teacher. We'll be cautious," Feng Yixiu replied with a grateful smile.

He fully grasped the teacher's implication: they should be on guard against other examinees who might try to seize their Dark Companion cards. After all, Mr. Lee hadn't forbidden such actions.

Hai Yunxing's specific warning made Feng Yixiu suspect that the teacher had noticed his tension with Lee Kaiyuan and was advising him to be particularly wary of him.
