The strange bird descended lower and lower until it finally reached the treetops.
Seizing the moment, Lin Mo manipulated the flames, swiftly engulfing them.
The flames instantly enveloped the two strange birds, their wing membranes quickly burning through with a series of crackling pops.
"Quack! Quack! Quack!"
In agony, the birds screeched, desperately flapping their wings in a futile attempt to snuff out the fire.
Their struggles diminished until, before long, they were reduced to blackened ash.

Incredibly, the two strange birds had delivered a total of 200 empirical points to him!
Lin Mo's heart swelled with joy. Clearly, the quickest path to evolution and leveling up was to relentlessly set ablaze both foes and all that lay before him.
Without hesitation, Lin Mo decided to claim the territory of the fallen avians for himself.
The blaze grew fiercer, consuming everything in its path—from the tender blades of grass to the rugged bark of centennial trees.
The entire mountaintop was ablaze, countless insects and wild beasts unable to escape, their demise fueling Lin Mo's empirical and burning values.
The conflagration raged for a full day and night before it finally subsided.
Lin Mo had intentionally kept the flames in check, aware that the continent was a battleground for the gods.
Any undue attention from a powerful deity could snuff out his covert leveling in its infancy.
Once the fire had completely died down, Lin Mo, now a fist-sized fireball, nestled beneath the ashes.
Filled with exhilaration, he accessed his attribute panel:

He had leaped from the rank of a lowly fire spirit to that of a fire essence, now possessing the freedom to move at will and having unlocked two abilities.
Compressed Flame Lv 1: This skill compresses the flame, instantly doubling the flame's temperature. At the current level, the flame's temperature is twice its normal heat.
Brutal Burn Lv 1: This skill accelerates the flame's spread, doubling the rate at which it engulfs its surroundings.
Lin Mo felt a rush of excitement. His peak temperature was 2000 degrees, but with the Compressed Flame ability, it would surge to 4000 degrees in an instant!
Paired with Brutal Burn, he figured flattening a mountain would now be a matter of mere hours.
Crack, crack, crack...
As Lin Mo was reveling in his newfound power, a series of rapid footsteps echoed from the distant woods.
His expression hardened as he edged closer to the source of the noise.
The footsteps grew louder. Lin Mo carefully dimmed his fiery glow and concealed himself, silently watching.
Before him was a group of creatures resembling humans, but with two pointed cat ears atop their heads and curved cat tails trailing behind.
Cat-men?
Lin Mo instantly identified them. These unexpected visitors were indeed one of the Orc races from Chaosland.
