C339 A Family of Three

Ruth was acutely aware of the awkwardness that came with meeting a boy alone. Throughout the day, she avoided speaking to Lin Mo, and as soon as the final bell rang, she was quick to get up and leave. Lin Mo, in a rush, reached out to stop her, inadvertently catching her hand.

"What's up?" Ruth's voice was a whisper, barely louder than a mosquito's buzz
