C9 Flashback
Gwen's pov
Flashback…
I was so devastated when I woke up , I could hardly remember a thing . My head hurt like crazy. My brows creased in pain as I held my head . I squinted my eyes to help ease the stinging pain in my head .
I sat up on the bed , the blankets rolled off my body . I realized I was partly naked , my dress was off my body .
I was only in my undergarments . In shock , I grabbed the sheets and covered myself up quickly .
I was confused, I panicked. Did it happen again? Has someone taken advantage of me? I asked myself. My vision became blurry, tears had welled up in my eyes against my will.
I recalled how I got here .
I had dared to believe Ava , I had dared to pity Ava . I had dared to try to see good in Ava . She had tricked me .
Why ? I asked myself . What happened to me the previous night?
I brainstormed my head for an answer.
Just then , Ava walked into the room with a triumphant smile plastered on her face.
My brows creased in a frown as I folded my fist in anger . She snickered as she '
walked close to the bed .
" I asked you to accompany me to watch a fight , and you left in the arms of a stranger . "
" To warm his bed Probably ...
"Too bad you didn't get to see me win."
I was puzzled....
"What stranger?, "I was drugged, I would never
do such a thing !"
" No whore admits she's one sister."
"You go around sleeping with every unmated male wolf in Dycan."
.
"Mind your
words ! "
I growled. " The truth hurts
right ? "
she chuckled . That was it . Not minding I was only in my under garment , I rushed to where she stood snickering and pranced on her . I gripped her neck in tears.
"What did I ever do to you ? "
"Why would you do this to me ? "
I cried, tightening my grip on her neck . I wanted her dead. I had accepted reality , we could never be sisters .
She grinned , her grin turned to a sinister smile. I slowly loosened my grip on her neck in confusion . She broke into a long shrill laughter that reverberated around the whole inn. Her pupils turned black , releasing her claws , she slashed my arm.
I held my bleeding arm in pain as she pushed me away from her body like a piece of rag. I landed at the corner of the room. She had shifted , she was soon on all fours , baring her canines at me . I knew I had to run...
I was no match for her, I was just a mutt .
I had underestimated Ava a lot of times , She had killed someone , she could do it again. Cosmas had died this same way, he had followed Ava. The same fate awaits me if I don't run .
She rushed to where I laid and threw me to the door. I came plummeting to the ground with a loud thud.
I had to escape, or I was going to die.
Summoning strength, I launched a chair crouched up by the corner of the room at her. I began to throw anything I could lay my hands on, so it could give me enough time to make a dash for the door.
Thankfully, it worked!."
Standing up, I threw the doors open and ran out like I was crazy.
Ava wanted me dead.
She was best at cooking up stories, everyone was going to believe her.
All she had to do was act, and was going to be a memory in a couple of months.
The cruel servants and the inn owner didn't try to stop Ava as I ran for my life. They only gave way for us and watched me cry and scream for help.
In the midst of my tears, I realized why I had lived up to this moment.
I was always in the castle, locked up like Rapunzel. Shield away from the eyes of the world, always under father's protection. Ava couldn't harm me.
I knew it was pointless running, Ava had incredible speed, agitated smell sense and a very sharp vision. But I ran either ways, that was all I could do at the moment.
Barefoot, I ran into the woods. It was always dark, even by the day. No one dared to cross it. The clouds were foggy, the grounds were strewn with morning dew, they were wet.
I caught my foot in thorns, my feet got pierced in blisters. I needed a place to hide, I was bleeding. I could hear Ava snarling and growling in the distance. I cried, I was scared. Ava could catch me if she wants to, she probably wanted to tease me before I breathe my last.
I ran until I was exhausted. Finally, there was a cave in sight. Panting, I made my way toward it. The sounds and gnarling had ceased, she was far off. I heaved a sigh of relief as I made to advance towards the cave. It was probably a lair owned by a dangerous wolf. A rouge maybe. But I didn't care at this point, safety first. I froze when I saw two glowing green eyes peering at me from the cave. I stopped dead on my track. I was beside myself with curiosity. But it was short lived….
Someone tapped my shoulder from behind thereby startling me. I turned to see who it was when she landed me a huge blow on my face. I grunted and fell to the ground, my face covered in dirt. She was back to her normal form.
"It's pointless ending your life anyways." She said squatting beside me. "You'll be going to Lycester anyways." "You've shamed our family enough."
I was thrown into confusion. Why would I go to Lycester? I thought to myself.
She knelt over me, and brought her lips close to my ear.
"Go pack your stuff."
She whispered.
Getting on her feet, she left; leaving me on the ground.
I was dirty, cold, scared, tired and hungry as I shuddered in tears.
