C7 Chapter 7

Jenna looked at the two men that were sitting across from her. Clay had black hair and green eyes. Yale was blonde with blue eyes. She stared at them both blankly as Clay told Yale what happened. “ So she’s from a different timeline is what she claims.” Clay said. Yale looked at Jenna with amusement, “ Oh really? Can she even prove that?” Jenna looked at Yale, “ I’m not sure how you would like me to prove it. Everything I had back from my timeline was left there when I came here.” Yale looked at her with mystery. “ Oh yeah? Like what?” Jenna answered, “ Like my phone and clothing.” Both men stared at her what's a foone.” Clay asked. “ Jenna laughed, “It's like a rectangular device that you use to talk to people on.” Both men look bewildered. “ I don’t understand what you mean.” Said, Yale. Jenna nodded, “ Exactly, each thing I would even tell you about you wouldn’t believe. In my time bathrooms have working toilets that flush your waste down into pipes. “ Both men looked at their bathroom. “ we have a fancy bucket” grinned, Clay. Jenna laughed, “ Yeah, I noticed, and when your done doing your thing in it, what do you do?” Yale nodded, “ Well if it's just number 1 we have the saying, If it's yellow let it mellow but if it’s a big crap” Jenna scrunched her eyebrows, “ We dump it over the mountain.” Jenna laughed, “ Yeah, in my time, the big craps (she makes quotations) just go down into pipes. No dumping needed.” Yale looked at her, “ Hmm..that sounds too good to be true. And what was the thing you did with your hands when you said that.” Jenna laughed, “ That’s called quotation marks. It's sarcasm with your fingers.” Yale smirked, “ Interesting. I’m not saying I Believe you but I can go with it for now.” Jenna smirked and her stomach grumbled, “ Both men looked at her.” Was that your stomach or do you need to use the bucket?” asked Clay. Jenna burst into laughter, “ That was my hungry growl.” Yale grinned, “ Thank god. By the way, you can dump your own poop from the bucket.” Jenna laughed, “ I can do that.”

Clay stood up, “ well I’m going to go hunt. For dinner, I’ll be back in a few.” Jenna watched him exit the cave and she heard his wings take off from the edge. She looked at Yale, now a little uneasy. “ Soo..” she began, “ can you tell me more about the war that’s going on?” Yale looked down and then back at her. “ The war has been going on for 6 years. It started after the king married queen Angela. Legend has it she's also from a different timeline.” Jenna nodded, “ The clock keeper told me the story.” Yale tapped his fingers on his leg, “ for centuries, all supernaturals have lived in harmony in and surrounding the castle. When the king married Angela, she made him agree to get rid of us. It started as a secret plan and everyone who wasn’t human that remained in the castle was slaughtered.” Jenna’s mouth opened wide, “ Why did she decide to do that?” Yale looked at Jenna, “ Honestly, no one is sure. We think in her timeline, something happened and so by going back and marrying the king, she could stop it.” Jenna nodded, “ In my timeline, there are no supernaturals. At least none that I’ve seen. They are in books and movies.” Yale looked puzzled, “ What are movies?” he asked. Jenna laughed, sometimes she forgot that he had no idea what she was talking about. “ A movie is a moving picture that tells a story. It has people in it who play other characters. It's like a book but live.” Yale smiled, “ That sounds super fancy.” Jenna nodded, “ It is and I’m beginning to realize all the things I took for granted in my timeline. Like a movie, toilet, or even a stove.” As she glanced in the kitchen. She looked at Yale before he could even ask she answered, “ A stove is a machine that cooks your food. It doesn’t even need fire.” Yale again looked shocked.

He looked at the kitchen, “ well fire sure makes things tasty anyway.” Jenna laughed, yeah it’ll be like camping.” Yale again looked confused. “ Camping is when you stay in the woods with tents and cook your food over a fire, In my timeline, almost everyone has a fancy house. Camping is something people do for fun.” Yale smirked, “ So our life that we live now is fun for you?” Jenna nodded, “ Yes..I guess with all the things we have now, simple things make life worth living. Children don’t play outside as much anymore. They watch movies a lot. Adults' work and school are mandatory. It's not just a privilege.” Yale smiled, “ That sounds boring.” Jenna laughed, “ I guess it is.”

They could hear wings outside and knew that Clay had returned. He had brought a big buck back with him for dinner. Jenna marveled at the giant creature. “ I’ve never eaten deer before.” She said. Both men looked at her, “ Really?” She nodded, “ Really. “ Clay smiled, “ well, in that case, you can come outside and help me clean this.” Jenna made a disgusted face, “ Ewww. Do I have to?” Clay stared at her, “ What, you don’t cut your own meat?” Jenna shook her head, “ No it comes packaged.” Both men again looked at her with confusion. “ I’m sorry, but your timeline seems awful.” Said, Yale.

Jenna laughed as Clay led her out the ledge of the cave. She watched him cut the deer and take out all the organs. Her face was green by the time he was done. They brought the meat inside and cooked it over the fire. Jena devoured her food, “ Oh my god, this is amazing.” She said with a mouthful. Clay laughed, “ Slow down, you’ll choke.” Jenna smiled as she wiped her mouth on her arm. Both men laughed, “ You aren’t very ladylike either.” Jenna grinned at them both. “I usually have manners but today has been crazy and I’m so hungry. “ she said and took another bite.

Yale laughed as he looked at Clay, “ so what do we do with this human that has no manners?” Clay smiled slyly, “ We use her to change our destiny.”
