FL is really naive while ML is easily manipulated. They are both victims of evil people but ML is worser. He treats her bad and humiliates her all under the belief she killed his loved one.

The Emperor is just plain cruel. FL is his sister and he doesn’t defend her when she’s accused of murder. Obviously because the murdered victim is with him.
