C5 It Smells so Good

Amanda pouted. She knew that she and Naomi would never be able to reach an agreement on this topic. She stopped talking. She took out two movie tickets from her pocket and placed them in Naomi's hands. She said, "Hey, these two tickets were something I got with great difficulty. Originally, I was going to... Ah, let's not talk about it. Anyway, I don't have time to watch it. I'll give it to you!"

Naomi lowered her head and looked at the movie ticket in her hand without saying a word.

When Amanda saw her reaction, she widened her eyes and approached her. "Big sister, you wouldn't tell me that you haven't even seen a movie with Clifton, right?"

Naomi frowned. Although she didn't want to admit it, the truth was that it was true.

Amanda opened her mouth and paused for a moment before saying, "That's right. Clifton is a special person. You and him are not like ordinary couples." She filled the blanket with water. "Anyway, the ticket is for you. If you don't want to go, just give it to someone else." With that, she walked away.

The sound of water coming from the water dispenser could be heard. Naomi lowered her head to look at the movie ticket in her hand and struggled in her heart.

Should she go or not? It was a question.

She suddenly felt that she had lived a very sullen life!

Other people could go shopping, eat a meal, watch a movie, and do everything together. What about her? When she was with Clifton, the only places she went were her house and the car. Occasionally, she would meet him outside, but she still had to pretend that she didn't know him.

However, who could she blame? She was the one who took the initiative to reject the idea of the relationship. Clifton only nodded in agreement.

Naomi sighed. It took her a while to drive away the chaotic thoughts in her mind and focus on her work.

At 11:55 in the afternoon, Naomi's phone rang.

She picked it up and looked at the word "royalty" on the screen. She pursed her lips and answered the call. "Hello?"

"Are you eating?" Clifton's voice was as low and pleasant as always.

"Yes, I'm eating." Naomi thought about the movie tickets and asked, "Are you busy today? Are you coming back tonight?"

"What's the matter?" On the other end of the phone, Clifton raised his head from his documents and smiled. "Could it be that we are connected by fate? You want to tell me that you want to cook something delicious for me tonight?"

Naomi rolled her eyes. This man was so beautiful! She suddenly thought of something and agreed to it.

After hanging up the phone, Naomi thought for a while and a plan slowly formed in her mind.

At 5:03 in the afternoon, Clifton called again.

Naomi smiled and answered the call. "It's just a meal. Why are you so afraid that I won't pay? Why did you call to ask me to come back?" As she spoke, she had already walked out of the magazine company.

Today, she was wearing a yellow dress and a pair of white high heels. It was simple and fashionable, and she looked elegant as she walked on the street.

On the other side of the road, Clifton caught a few gazes of adoration on Naomi. He narrowed his eyes dangerously and said, "I am at the same place."

Naomi was stunned. She looked up at the coffee shop across the road and saw a black Bentley in front of her.

The corner of her mouth curled up. She put away the phone and saw that no one was paying attention to her. She quickly crossed the road and got into the car.

The car started.

When they passed by the supermarket, Naomi got out of the car. When she came back, she had two big plastic bags in her hands.

Clifton glanced at the things in the bags. Other than vegetables and fish, there was even seafood. He raised his eyebrows in surprise. "Are you going to show off your culinary skills?"

Naomi smiled. "You think it's too much? Then we'll divide these things into a few portions and keep some for ourselves."

Clifton glanced at her and shook his head. "These things are so good. If they are left for too long, they won't be fresh anymore. So, in order to present them to the table in the most delicious and fresh way, I will try my best to eat more."

Naomi curled her lips. This man was really good at talking. After all, it was all for one thing - to eat!

She didn't want to argue with him. Naomi made her own plans in her heart and didn't say anything else. However, the usually talkative person suddenly became quiet, which made people suspicious.

Clifton glanced at her. "What's wrong? Is your job not going well?"

"Ah? No... No." Naomi blinked and giggled.

Just then, the car stopped.

Naomi grabbed the plastic bag and got out of the car, running into the building.

When Clifton walked in, he heard a sound from the kitchen. He walked closer and looked at the busy figure in the kitchen. His eyebrows raised. He turned around and sat on the sofa in the living room. He turned on the TV.

A dozen minutes later, a strong fragrance wafted out of the kitchen. Clifton raised his head and looked in the direction of the kitchen. He got up and walked in.

Naomi had already changed into a gray cotton dress. Her waist-length hair was tied up loosely behind her head. She was currently lowering her head and stir-frying the dishes in the pot. Her expression was focused and serious, and she had a unique beauty.

Clifton's heart skipped a beat. He went up and wrapped his arms around Naomi's waist. He buried his head in her neck and sighed. "It's so fragrant!"

Naomi's face turned red. She tilted her head and avoided him. "Don't mess around!" Her heart was beating fast. She didn't know if he was talking about the fragrance of the food or something else.

Clifton was only teasing her. He kissed her on the cheek and left.

Half an hour later, all the food was served on the table.

Naomi was originally afraid that her cooking skills would be bad, but it was obvious that she was overthinking it.

Seeing that Clifton had added another bowl of rice, she did not reject the food she picked. Naomi bit her chopsticks and thought about how to tell him about the movie tickets.

Clifton saw her fluttering expression, but he did not say anything. He only put down his chopsticks after he was full and looked up at her. "Tell me! What exactly is it?"

Naomi exclaimed and shook her head. "I... I'm fine."

Clifton did not say anything. He just stared at her with a deep gaze.

How could Naomi bear this? Her chest was pounding and her eyes were fluttering. She quickly explained herself.

She took out the two movie tickets from her bag and looked at him pitifully. "My colleague gave them to me. I want you to accompany me to watch it."

Clifton was a little surprised. He raised his eyebrows and looked at her with a calm expression.

He reached out to take the movie tickets. He saw that there were some young faces on the ticket, but he did not even look at the names. He had already made a judgment in his heart.

It was something a child would do.

However, when he looked up at Naomi's expectant eyes, he remained calm. "Come here."

Naomi felt uneasy. She got up and walked around the table. She sat in his arms and looked up at him expectantly.

"Do you really want to go?" Clifton raised his eyebrows.

When she met his dark and deep eyes, Naomi pursed her lips habitually and then nodded.

In the next moment, Clifton suddenly stood up and hugged her. He looked up at the clock on the wall and said, "There are still 40 minutes until the movie starts. It seems like we have to hurry."

Naomi immediately smiled brightly and kissed his face. "You are so good!"
