C1 Chapter 1

Pink pov

It was the memorial day of Valdo's death. Even after twenty years, I kept visiting his grave not only once a year but every week. I couldn’t forget him. I couldn’t erase our memories, and I didn’t open my heart to anyone but him.

Even my son and my daughters asked me to give any other man a chance; they wanted to see me happy. They thought being in the arms of another man could fulfill my life and make me smile again.

Unfortunately, that was a no. It wasn’t that easy for me. Valdo was my real mate, my true love, and my everything. The day he died, I died. I was breathing, but my heart wasn’t there.

I only lived for my kids. For our pack and our Kingdom because I promised him. But if it were for me, I’d have ended my life the day he was killed in front of my eyes.

I still blame myself for his death. All troubles came to his life because of me. Even with all my powers, I couldn’t have the chance to save his life.

But instead of grieving and mourning and whimpering in his grave that day, I only reminded myself of the happy days we have lived together. That was more than enough for me to keep me alive For my children and soon for my grandchildren.

I grabbed some sand in my hands and sniffed it, “I can smell you, Valdo. I wish you were here. I miss you so much, my King.”

I sighed, a tear rolling down my cheeks.

And I heard Beta announcing that my son the Alpha is coming.

I tried to stand up, not to show any weakness. My son placed his hands on my shoulders, “dear mother. By looking at you, I see a young girl. But by looking into your eyes, I can see an old lady. Please try to live. You’re still 39-year- old.” his tone contained a lot of sadness. I knew he was sad about loosing his father that early when he was a newly born pup. But I lost my soul-mate. It was harder for me.

I tapped his hands and his cheek, “son. I am so proud of you. I am just living for you and your sisters. But once my time comes, I will be so happy to go and meet your fathers. It’s more than enough for me to be buried in the same grave with him.”

“Mother! My Queen. Please stop. You're still so young.”

I raised my head, looking to the sky, placing my hand on my chest next to my heart, “but I still feel that Valdo can see me and hear me. I don’t know why. I think I am losing my sane.”

The Beta coughed, “your highness, my Queen. Can we talk, please?”

I turned my head to him; he looked so concerned, “what is it? Talk here. He is the Alpha now. He needs to know everything about the Kingdom.”

The Beta nodded and started speaking, “well, I’ve some bad news.”

My son, the Alpha stared darkly; the way he looked reminded me of my King, “talk now.” he commanded the Beta.

The Beta looked at me, waiting for my permission, it was confirmed that I handed the throne to my son, and he became the Alpha, but in werewolves rules, since I was still alive, I am still the one in charge. The higher in rank. So, I allowed him, “you can talk now.”

The Beta spoke, “first, you know that we have been safe from rogues and vampires for too long, and we even don’t know the real reason behind this…” he sighed.

Then he trailed off his words, “but the only thing we know that the King of vampires killed the King of rogues, and the King of vampires ruled rogues and vampires. And thankfully, nothing happened since then. But… here’s the bad thing…” the Beta stopped, then handed me a letter, looking royally with the stamp.

I took the letter and read it slowly, in front of my son and the Beta, and even some ministers who were there to visit the grave of KingValdo and show gratitude to his honor.

“Either marry me or say goodbye to your pack because I am gonna start killing them one by one the second you reject my proposal.”

And signed by ‘Your King.’

His letter was direct- threatening, and he was so confident that he even signed with my King.

I crippled the letter in my hand, angrily. My son growled, “how dare he threaten the Queen of werewolves? We’re so ready to start a bloody war with him.”

Ministries growled, agreeing with my son the Alpha, “yes. Let’s kill them.”

I raised my hand, stopping them, “no. Stop.”

My son looked at me, “what mother? Don’t tell me that you’re afraid of him? He is just trash! We can destroy his packs and kill him!”

I didn’t reply to my son. I only asked my Beta, “where’s the messenger man? The one who came with the letter?”

The Beta bowed his head, “he’s waiting over there.” he mentioned in the back to him. My son yelled, taking off his sword, “I am gonna kill him now.”

“No,” I said sternly.

Repeating, “NO.”

I made it clear to everyone. I’d no time to think about anything. The letter was straightforward and clear to the blind. Whoever was that King, he didn’t touch us or get into a war for years, so the only god knows how powerful his packs could be. He has vampires and werewolves rogues, so he definitely was more vital than us.

I beckoned my fingers to the messenger to come close. He bowed his head in respect to me, “tell your King that Pink is ready to marry him. But he should keep his promise and never kill anyone.”

The messenger bowed and replied, “our King knew that his proposal would get a yes as a response. That's why he asked me to guide you to his castle. The King refuses to come here. And he also asks you not to let anyone else come with you. Or he will make the sea red and the sky cry with bloody tears.” he said his King’s words. He was the messenger, after all.

My son yelled, “how the hell he could treat the Queen of all werewolves in a humiliating way! I am not letting you go, mother.”

I blew a deep breath away, I wanted to refuse, but by looking at my son and my mate’s grave, I knew that it was my duty to keep my words to him. I want to sacrifice one last time as he sacrificed for us years ago.

“Wait for me,I am coming.”

“your highness, one last thing.” the messenger said; I turned my head to him. He handed me one more letter, saying, “wear your Pink wedding dress. The one you wore when you got mated to KingValdo twenty-one years ago.”

I rounded my fist angrily. I kept this dress in my closet for years. How could I wear the same dress to marry that horrible King! It was made for my mate, not for a killer forcing me to marry him for a hidden reason!

What came to my mind at that moment was that he was KingValdo's enemy, and he wanted to make me his. I really couldn’t find a reason behind this even after all those years! Valdo was killed years ago; why now?!

“Okay. Could you wait for me? Here.” I said in a saddening voice. And walked back to my castle… dragging my feet but trying to show no weakness, no sadness. But my heart was bleeding. It was the day I‘d lost my dear mate! It was an important day for me.

My son barged into my room, “mom. Please. What are you doing? Why are you so weak all of a sudden? I can kill him and make him kneel down your feet.”

And then I heard my two daughters crying, “mother, please. We can’t risk your life. Please don’t do this.”

I pulled the dress from my closet and said, “please get out all of you. I need to get ready.”

“Mother.”

“Stop.”

“No one can force me. I need to know what he wants and why now. So keep calm all of you. I need to get ready and don’t send your men behind me. We don’t know him yet. We don’t even know his name.” I said to them, then I faced my son the Alpha and cupped his cheeks, “we made a huge mistake. We didn’t follow your father’s instruction in ruling the Kingdom. He used to say, ‘if you don’t know your enemy and whom you’re dealing with, then don’t face him.’” I kissed my son’s forehead and hugged my daughters.

“Please get out now. I need to stay for a few minutes alone.”

I waited until they left and closed the door.

I looked at my Pink dress going back with memories of my ceremony day and pulling a small letter from a hidden pocket in the dress. KingValdo wrote this letter to me. On the same day, he took my virginity. [ you’re mine, Pink. You’ll always be.]

I smiled, cried, and shivered at the thought that I would give myself to another man. But as much as I was not weak, as much as I wanted to go and face my enemy. Maybe I could use my powers to kill him. Or maybe change his mind. I couldn’t make a plan until I met him in person.

So, I did. I took a shower, a long one as a bride, Cleaning my body and every inch without the help of servants and combing my long- black hair that reached my waist—wearing some light-makeup that shows my thick-lashes and my wide blue eyes. I hesitantly wore the dress that shows me as a cute girl, not a Queen, as if years had gone back to the past.

I looked at my diamond ring in my hand, and the necklace on my neck hesitated to take it off. It was a gift from Valdo. After thinking, I kept them. If the King of vampires wants to marry me, then he should accept me the way I am.

I raised my head and walked confidently. My son and my daughters were waiting by the door, “mother, please.”

I faked a smile and twirled my body, “I wore this dress when I got mated to KingValdo. I think I am happy. Yes. I still love him, and this is enough for me. I am keeping this Kingdom as I promised him. Is that clear?”

They looked desperately at me. But I walked downstairs without saying goodbyes. Because I was sure, I would come back soon. And even if it didn’t happen, then they should know I didn’t die easily. They should learn to fight —To die with dignity.

The messenger was waiting for me in a limo, “are we going to the city?”

He didn’t give me a direct answer, “it’s a near Kingdom. Closer to here. I mean close to Iceland. We will take a limo then a private jet to the castle. Don’t worry, your highness, it's not a village; it's a Kingdom like here.”

I nodded, “okay. Let’s go then.”

I was kidnapped, obviously, but willingly.

Let’s see who dared to threaten me.
