C6 Chapter 6

A third point of view

Pink was there in her room, only in her bed. Thinking for a long time, she indeed started to get confused and worried. She thought she got rid of her elder brother Derek a long time ago. She thought he became a better person. She didn’t know much about him for years. She even thought he died or something. She didn’t care to collect information about him after the death of her mate, King Valdo. Even so, Derek was Alpha and ruled one of the most robust packs, but she thought being away from him was a better decision. She cut the strings with him even after forgiving him. He was obsessed with her for a long time, mostly that she was only his adopted sister.

But fears came to her heart again. She hoped that he wasn’t him. That might lead to disaster.

She re-read the last note several times again. He wanted to make her immortal and be his queen and forget about her packs, her past. She couldn’t swallow the idea.

She was ready to sacrifice to keep her son and her daughters safe and her people; she even thought of giving birth to that mysterious King child to let her go but allowing him to transfer her to immortality that was a big no.

So, Pink picked one of the dresses in front of her, all of the dresses white. As if wedding dresses. She wore one and opened the door calling for anyone out there.

“I need to send a message immediately to the King,” she said in a cold tone.

One of the men bowed, “sure, your highness.”

She walked to the small desk by the window, searched for the paper and pen, and wrote [I loved Valdo, I loved my mate. I’d instead choose to die and envr accept to let anyone be my mate. That's my last answer… I refuse you as my mate. I refused to be your queen. Kill me if you dare.]

She tied the paper and walked to the man by the door who was waiting; she handed him the paper, “give it to your King.”

And then she slammed the door.

On the other side, next to her room, was the King waiting for any message from Pink. He knew her very well. He was only testing her loyalty.

To the vampires and rogues and even the new unique creatures, all of them knew what’s happening, but they didn’t dare to reveal the truth to the queen. No one dared to break the King’s orders, or he might be sent to the dungeon and sentenced to death.

The King waited until his men came to his door, knocking and waiting for permission to get inside. The King allowed them to “come in. Give me the good news.”

One of the men handed the King the queen’s note. The King read it even loudly, excited. A big smile crept over his face. He sighed in happiness, talking to himself and his wolf, “then Pink is still in love with Valdo. That's good news.”

The King wrote the last note because he was ready to meet her in person. It was the right time.

He wrote down and gave the note to his soldier, “give it to the queen now. Make sure she’s ready in less than an hour.”

And Pink received the last note, she hoped for a good answer, [ wear any dress and come down, I will meet you. We need to talk. And you’re free to choose either me or go back to your kingdom safe. I am not gonna force you.]

Pink realized something weird was happening, some sort of secret, and she hoped he’s not Derek after all.

She was ready, wearing a white dress, she wore glittering silver high heels and checked her hair.

She blew a deep breath away before stepping out of her room.

Only one man was waiting to guide her. Although servants were on both sides and soldiers all around. She didn’t give them a glance. But with every step downstairs, they bowed in respect royally for her.

Until she reached the ballroom, they opened the huge golden gates for her. The music stopped playing. There was no one except the pianist and violinist. And some sparkle spotlights on the middle above a table filled with fruits and food of all the colors and kinds. And two huge gold chairs facing each other.

She stopped there. Looking around, searching by her eyes for the King. She was boiling already in a rage.

Until they announced, “the King.”

She turned her body slowly to see him. Once her eyes met his eyes, she trembled. And fainted. Because he was nothing except King Valdo— her mate!

But how?

Before she could fall and hit her head to the marble floor, King Valdo’s big hand-held her tight. He wrapped his arms around her waist, looking at her winsome features. Looking at his mate that he missed. He kept watching her from a far distance, but he missed being so close to her. He missed her breath, her scent. Even so, he impregnated her for the last two days, but she wasn’t in her full consciousness. As much as he was powerful, he knew she didn’t fall in love or even make love after his death, but he was scared to death that she might refuse him if she knew the whole truth.
