C9 MATILDA'S SADDENED LIFE

The Jones family were very delighted about Mr. Henry and his wife’s kindness towards them. It’s the family’s first time to eat in a fancy restaurant.

“Oh how I wish Matilda and Kiesha would be here.”, said Juliet.

They looked at each other and continuously eating the delicious foods served on their plates.

“Thank you for this Ma’am Elizabeth, Sir Henry.”, said Alexa.

“Oh, you’re welcome dear. Take your time. This is also a way of apologizing because our daughter hurt your feelings and made Kiesha embarrassed. We hope the kids will give themselves a second chance to love each other and no more hate.”, replied Juliet.

“I don’t know why Matilda was like that to Kiesha. We gave this kid everything. We gave her the money she needs, the resources she needs in school, great books, great house, she has a lot of friends and came to the house partying sometimes, we even let her have a boyfriend because she thinks that she is independent already. God gave her a complete family. But why?”, replied Juliet with teary eyes.

Both of the families finished their dinner at the restaurant in a very late night. The couple decided to drive the family home in order for them to be safe from the streets since it was raining so hard.

“Don’t worry I think your daughter is at home already.”, said Henry.

“Here, take these foods. You can also go at the counter if you wish to add foods in the meal corner. Go, just get some Alexa.”, said Juliet.

“Oh Alexa, that’s enough dear. We brought a lot. Please.”, replied Elizabeth.

“So are we all set? Can we go now?”, asked Henry.

“Ahm, we can go by ourselves Ma’am Juliet, Sir Henry.”, said Elizabeth.

“What? No. The streets are all wet. You can certainly meet strangers at this hour and will surely grab your foods.”, replied Juliet.

“We would like to drive you home safely.”, replied Edmund.

The families get into the car and drive home.

Meanwhile, Kiesha got home already. The heavy rains won’t stop. She then parked her bicycle in front of their house and tied it with a rope.

“Mother? Father? Alexa? Are you home?”, shouted Kiesha.

As she opened the door, no one was there.

“Oh my. They aren’t still here. Where are they?”, she asked herself.

“Oh God. Please protect my family. I thought I am only worried about my brother, I didn’t expect this. What have I done to experience this kind of situation?”, she asked herself.

As Kiesha opened the window, she can see from afar that it’s her family. Her smile was wide because she saw them at last.

Her family went inside as they bid goodbye and thankful to the Watsons family.

“Hey mother, father, Alexa, where did you go? I was looking for you and even reached the police station just to search for you.”, said Kiesha.

Actually we promised you yesterday to continuously look for your brother but it seems that we went to all the police stations in the city just to find ways to be able to see John. Then, we waited for his wife to arrive from the supermarket. They decided to treat us to a fancy restaurant dear.”, replied Elizabeth.

“Is Matilda with you?”, asked Kiesha.

“Actually our families have both problems dear.”, replied Elizabeth.

“Matilda was missing. She did not come back home after she was embarrassed in front of your classmates, teachers and the principal.”, replied Alexa.

“Really?”, asked Kiesha.

“Just wait. How can that happen? I thought she’s brave enough to face everything.”, replied Kiesha.

“I bet she would not be included in the final list of 4th year graduating students.”, replied Alexa.

“Oh, I hope not. I know Matilda will return as soonest.”, replied Kiesha.

“Wait, why are you being pity towards her? Don’t tell me, you already forgave her.”, asked Alexa.

“Okay, that’s enough girls. We should be thankful because Matilda’s family is very kind and generous to us.”, replied Elizabeth.

“I’m worried about Matilda mother.”, replied Kiesha.

“A buttered shrimp, corn soup, lasagna, spaghetti and macaroni salad.”, replied Alexa.

“Wow! You’re lucky because you ate in a fancy restaurant. Thanks to Mr. Henry and Mrs. Juliet’s kindness.”, replied Kiesha.

On the other story, Matilda Watsons did not still want to go home. Instead, she leaved in a condominium with Maria, her longtime best friend. Maria has very rich parents. But she only lived alone since her parents were working in other country and also were both entrepreneurs who owned a furniture company in Texas. But Maria’s lifestyle changed when she started to develop a bad influence from her other friends. She started drinking, smoking and even had relationships for more than one guy. She started bringing guys at her condominium. Until one day, someone called her from nowhere. This was the scene in which Matilda remembered last time as she was asking help from her naughty best friend.

“Hello? Maria?”, called Matilda.

Matilda packed up her things. She paid all the bills to the rental owner before she leaves. The money she used was her extra money for school purposes in which it was given by her parents. But since she did not already attending school, she decided to live in a small apartment in town near a supermarket. But she could not take it anymore. She wants to live in a night life. She wants to quit school but she still loves Justin. How could she do that? She was really confused. About her life, about how people mocked at her, how do her parents feel after the embarrassment and most especially to Kiesha who made things to ruin her life.

“I will certainly cut your life Kiesha.”, she whispered.

After an hour, a car beeped in front of her apartment. As she looked into the window, she saw her best friend waving back at her.

“Oh, Maria!”, she shouted with joy.

Matilda then grabbed her bag and went immediately to the car.

“Oh hey! How are you? It’s been a while best!”, greeted Maria excitedly.

“OMG! It’s you!! Haha.”, replied Matilda happily.

“So what’s the problem, now tell me?”, replied Maria.

“Oh, it’s a very long story indeed. Can we just go now?”, replied Matilda.

“So where do you want to go? Have you eaten your dinner already?”, asked Maria.

“Nope. Not yet.”, replied Matilda.

“Then we should go in the resto bar named “The Dream Girl’s Bar.” I know you will love it soon.”, replied Maria.

They drove on the roadside until they arrived at the resto bar.

“This is a nice place uh.”, said Matilda.

“I told ya!”, replied Maria.

“Go inside and order whatever you like.”, said Maria.

“How about you?”, asked Matilda.

“Don’t worry about me. I’m full already. I ate my dinner at home. Plus the hotness of the latest guy I have you know, whom I interacted this afternoon. Damn! So yummy! I also manage the bar by the way.”, replied Maria.

“Wait, what? Really! No wonder because I know your parents gave this to you.”, replied Matilda.

As they came in, the hostess greeted the two.

The girls seated around the corner and ordered some delicious foods.

“I like the grilled pork and barbecue.”, said Matilda.

“Okay we’ll take this and a can of beer as well. I’m sure you’ll love it. Excuse me waiter, please take this order from us. Thank you. ”, said Maria as the waiter nodded and went to the kitchen.

“So, going back to the issue, what’s the problem?”, asked Maria.

“Okay ahm… I quit school already. Next month will be our graduation day but the school kicked me off. I was totally embarrassed in front of my classmates, schoolmates, to my teachers, to the principal, to my parents and most of all to my one and only boyfriend Justin.”, explained Matilda.

“Alright but why? Have you done a crime or what?”, asked Maria.

“Yes. I made one of my classmates a cheater but the truth is it is because I’m the one who did the whole problem.”, explained Matilda.

“I stole one of our testpapers from the teacher’s office that night not knowing there’s hidden cameras behind doors and ceilings. Tomorrow after the scene, during the breaktime when no one is around, I placed it inside the bag of my classmate.”, explained Matilda.

“Oh that’s terrible. I salute of your bravery huh.”, replied Maria.

“Here’s your order Ma’am. Thank you.”, said the waiter.

“Alright thanks!”, replied Maria.

“Then? What happened next?”, she added.
