C116 He Was the One Who Killed!(1)
What exactly happened in the Mystic Trace Realm that led to the complete downfall of the once-mighty Heavenly Martial Academy? Everyone was eager to find out.
While Wang Haiyue and Zhou Changtai were locked in a heated argument, the other three sects learned the truth from their disciples. They looked at Woo Zhengyang in disbelief, unable to tear their eyes away even as Wang Haiyue and Zhou Changtai were on the brink of a fight.
The idea that one person could take down more than ten others was simply staggering. They couldn't have imagined it. Initially, they dismissed the so-called "Outer Sect Number One Madman" of the Profound Heaven Sect, but now they had to take him seriously. Even though Woo Zhengyang wasn't the top of the Profound Heaven Sect's outer ranks, his actions were something not even the best of the Heavenly Martial Academy could likely achieve.
If he were allowed to grow...
The elders leading the Qingyun Sect and Iron Cloud Sect were deep in thought, but they didn't act rashly. However, the elder from the Wind Howl Sect couldn't sit still. He was already troubled by the absence of his disciple, Gongyang Qiusheng, and after learning of Woo Zhengyang's formidable power, he began to understand why Gongyang Qiusheng hadn't returned.
Woo Zhengyang was the prime suspect, without a doubt. Yet, unlike Wang Haiyue, he didn't have the confidence to directly confront the Profound Heaven Sect. Initially, he had planned to watch from the sidelines.
Zhou Changtai and Wang Haiyue were locked in a stalemate, and it seemed likely that Zhou Changtai might just drag things out, which was the last thing he wanted. If Woo Zhengyang was taken back to the sect, the Profound Heaven Sect would undoubtedly protect him with all their might, and then the Heavenly Martial Academy might not be able to do anything about it.
He needed to break this deadlock. The best way was to reveal the truth, even if it meant slightly offending the Profound Heaven Sect. It wouldn't matter much because they would be facing a more formidable enemy. As long as Woo Zhengyang was dealt with, he could return to the sect with a clear conscience.
Suddenly, the elder leading the Wind Howl Sect interjected, drawing the attention of both Wang Haiyue and Zhou Changtai. Zhou looked puzzled, while Wang was visibly furious.
"Shang Qianqiu, what do you mean? Just because someone from your Wind Howl Sect is also dead, I shouldn't pursue this matter?" Wang Haiyue vented his anger at the Wind Howl Sect elder, Shang Qianqiu, with a sharp glare.
Shang Qianqiu nearly choked with frustration, feeling like Wang Haiyue was attacking everyone indiscriminately without even hearing him out. Cursing Wang under his breath, Shang Qianqiu continued, "Elder Wang, you've misunderstood. What I want to tell everyone is that the real reason Lyi Huamei, the second disciple of the Profound Heaven Sect, didn't make it out is actually..."
"I'm not interested in how their disciples died!" Although Shang Qianqiu's attitude was relatively polite, Wang Haiyue still interrupted him rudely.
In his heart, he already had a suspicion. If his entire sect was wiped out, wouldn't it be normal to take a few down with them? If Lyi Huamei's death was linked to the people from the Martial Academy, his anger would be even harder to contain.
Just as he was about to get to the main point, Shang Qianqiu was cut off, leaving him fuming and wishing he could give Wang Haiyue a piece of his mind.
The situation had completely turned around, and it was even in his favor, yet he was being interrupted repeatedly. If it weren't such a serious matter, Shang Qianqiu might have just stopped talking altogether or even sided with the Profound Heaven Sect.
"Oh? Elder Shang, please tell us how my disciple Lyi Huamei died!" Zhou Changtai's attitude was the opposite. His suspicions were similar to Wang Haiyue's, convinced that the Martial Academy was involved. He was quite grateful for Shang Qianqiu's willingness to speak up.
Shang Qianqiu was frustrated beyond belief. What a mess!
Turning away from Zhou Changtai's grateful gaze, Shang Qianqiu finally said with resentment, "Lyi Huamei was killed by Woo Zhengyang!"
"What?"
"What?"
Wang Haiyue and Zhou Changtai exclaimed in unison, though Wang Haiyue's tone had a hint of delight, while Zhou Changtai was utterly shocked.
"Shang Qianqiu, don't go spreading lies!" Zhou Changtai snapped back, furious. This guy wasn't supporting the Profound Heaven Sect; he was here to stir up trouble.
"I'm too old to be making up stories. He admitted it himself in the Mystic Trace Realm, and all the disciples from other sects heard it too. As for Bu Qianshan and the other eleven from the Heavenly Martial Academy, plus your three disciples from the Profound Heaven Sect, he killed them all right in front of everyone!"
"Bu Qianshan and the eleven others, plus my three disciples from the Profound Heaven Sect? You must be overestimating my disciples!" Zhou Changtai's first reaction was disbelief.
But as Zhou Changtai looked around at the other sects, he noticed they weren't surprised by Shang Qianqiu's words. Doubt crept into his mind.
Could it really be true?
