C173 No Life Patriarch(2)

Just moments ago, Bing'er and the others shared some crucial information with Woo Zhengyang: the No Life Patriarch is notorious for his bloodthirsty nature. However, he seems to have grown weary of it over time, preferring to toy with his victims before ultimately torturing them to death.

Anyone attempting to enter No Life City must first endure an illusion. If you enter with others, those around you might not be who they seem. They won't kill you outright, but when you least expect it, they might betray you, leaving you with a painful lesson in treachery.

Initially, Woo Zhengyang wasn't sure if the illusion Bing'er and the others mentioned was real, so he decided to test Loong Zhiwu. The moment his fingers touched her throat, he knew this wasn't the real Loong Zhiwu. With his skills, there's no way he could have gotten this close; the real Loong Zhiwu would have easily thrown him aside with her Vital Spirit Giant Hand.

The illusion array was incredibly powerful, capable of mimicking Loong Zhiwu's every move and word so convincingly that even Woo Zhengyang couldn't tell the difference. However, since the illusion couldn't replicate Loong Zhiwu's abilities unless she acted first, Woo Zhengyang was able to find a flaw.

After defeating the fake Loong Zhiwu, Woo Zhengyang felt no triumph, only increased worry. He feared that the real Loong Zhiwu might also be trapped with a simulated version of himself. He couldn't be sure if she would notice the deception in time to avoid getting hurt.

Woo Zhengyang and his companions, including Bing'er, had only heard rumors about the No Life City. How to leave was something Zhengyang had to figure out on his own.

As he continued forward, Zhengyang reached a small bridge within the city. The moment he stepped onto it, a chill ran down his spine, as if he had entered an ice cave. Below the bridge, the river wasn't filled with water but with flowing blood and scattered bones.

Even though it was an illusion, everything felt disturbingly real, making Zhengyang's heart race. He forced himself not to look and pressed on, finally reaching the end of the street.

Here, Zhengyang saw something different—five jade-colored stone platforms. On each platform lay a weapon: a knife, a sword, a spear, a large hammer, and a bow with seven arrows. All five weapons were entirely jet black, seemingly ordinary at first glance, but as he got closer, he could sense the deadly aura they emitted.

"If Bing'er hadn't warned me, and if I hadn't seen through it early, this might have been where Loong Zhiwu and I finally parted ways," Zhengyang thought. He could imagine the conflict over the weapons, and even if he didn't fight for them, betrayal would still be a possibility.

Since it was all an illusion, Zhengyang had no interest in taking the weapons. However, as he looked around, he realized there was no way forward...

Woo Zhengyang took out the Array Origin Bead, ready to study the illusion array. Beneath the bead, as he delved deeper, Zhengyang quickly noticed something unusual. The five weapons weren't illusions; they were real and present within the array!

"What's going on?" Zhengyang was a bit surprised.

An illusion array hiding reality—what a concept! Zhengyang had never encountered an array that made real objects so obvious, as the presence of real items often held the key to breaking the illusion. After a moment's thought, Zhengyang understood. These five real objects were indeed the key to unraveling the illusion.

The No Life Patriarch created this illusion as a mere trick for those who ventured here, never intending to prevent anyone from entering the true No Life City. After all, where's the fun in that?

With a plan in mind, Zhengyang approached the stone platform holding the black longsword. On the sword's hilt, ancient letters spelled out: "No Life Sword!" He glanced around and saw the other weapons were similarly inscribed: "No Life Blade, No Life Spear, No Life Hammer, No Life Bow!"

"The No Life Patriarch sure loved that name," Zhengyang muttered to himself. "In the end, he became 'No Life' himself, yet still schemed against others. What a villain!" With that, he reached out and grasped the sword's hilt.

In an instant, an image of a figure howling at the sky appeared in Zhengyang's mind—it was the very same No Life Patriarch from the statue.

The No Life Patriarch stood at the gates of No Life City, holding the black No Life Sword. Below the city gates, hundreds of wounded men and women, though exhausted, continued to fight fiercely.

"When the sword is drawn, the winds stir; when it rises, all are amazed; when it sings, I alone laugh; beneath it, none survive!"

Suddenly, the No Life Patriarch let out a wild laugh and swung the black No Life Sword. Just as he proclaimed, the world seemed to change with the sword's emergence. When the dust settled, only a field of broken bodies remained beneath the city, with no one left standing.

"The No Life Sword, none survive beneath it!" the No Life Patriarch declared, slashing the sword toward Woo Zhengyang. A beam of light descended from the sky, growing larger in Woo Zhengyang's eyes.

Woo Zhengyang didn't dodge, knowing it was an illusion. Even if it weren't, he couldn't evade it. As the light reached him, it dispersed, and all illusions faded away, returning Woo Zhengyang to the moment he held the No Life Sword.

Then, Woo Zhengyang felt an immense pull emanating from the black longsword, and without any resistance, he was transported to another world...
