C201 Three Possibilities!(2)

Not long after, the four of them reached the end of the main street in the City of No Life. In the illusionary version of this city, this was where they chose their weapons. Now, only five stone platforms remained.

"Boss, why'd you bring us here? The city is surrounded by barriers that are tougher to break than the gates!" Hammer Man questioned.

"Something's off here," Woo Zhengyang said, holding the Array Origin Bead and sensing carefully.

As Hammer Man mentioned, the city was indeed fortified with barriers that even Soul Energy couldn't penetrate. This should have been the end of the line. Yet, Woo Zhengyang sensed unusual fluctuations in the Heaven and Earth Vital Energy. It wasn't like a barrier but more like there was something hidden at the end of the main road.

Despite his efforts, Woo Zhengyang couldn't find any clues.

While the four were at a loss, Loong Zhiwu suddenly approached one of the stone platforms. Woo Zhengyang remembered it as the spot where the bow used to be. Loong Zhiwu placed his bow on the platform.

In the next moment, both Loong Zhiwu and the bow vanished...

"What the...?" Blade Man and Hammer Man were startled and looked to Woo Zhengyang for guidance.

Woo Zhengyang was equally baffled by Loong Zhiwu's disappearance. It seemed curiosity got the better of him, accidentally triggering something.

"I'm going to give it a shot. You all decide your own paths!"

"I'm sticking with the boss!"

"Me too!"

Woo Zhengyang nodded silently and placed his No Life Sword on the central stone platform. In the next moment, he felt a familiar pull emanating from the sword...

When he opened his eyes again, Woo Zhengyang saw Loong Zhiwu looking around in confusion, clearly at a loss.

"Oh my... you scared me!" Loong Zhiwu exclaimed happily upon seeing Woo Zhengyang.

"Where are we?"

"How should I know? I just placed it down without thinking..." Loong Zhiwu replied, feeling wronged.

Soon after, Blade Man and Hammer Man appeared as well.

Woo Zhengyang glanced around and realized they were in a small courtyard, simpler than any in No Life City. Besides a modest training ground, there was just a low stone house.

"Let's check inside!" Woo Zhengyang said, leading the way to the stone house.

The path was uneventful, and the four of them smoothly entered the stone house. However, as soon as they stepped inside, they were all startled.

The interior was quite empty, with only a transparent crystal coffin in the center. For those accustomed to life-and-death battles, a coffin wasn't frightening. What startled them was the person lying inside.

Dressed in a robe with gold and silver threads, hair and beard white as snow—who else could it be but the No Life Patriarch!

"Why is there another No Life Patriarch?" Loong Zhiwu gently patted her chest, trying to calm herself.

"This one might be the real No Life Patriarch," Woo Zhengyang speculated, unable to explain why he felt that way.

Loong Zhiwu's eyes lit up with a sudden thought. "What do you think would happen if we destroyed the body of this No Life Patriarch? How would the one outside react?"

Woo Zhengyang chuckled wryly. She had just been scared out of her wits, yet here she was, already plotting about the Patriarch's body.

"There are three possibilities. First, nothing happens. Second, the No Life Patriarch outside depends on this body to exist, so destroying it could cause him to die or weaken."

"And the third possibility?" she pressed.

"The third possibility is where it gets interesting. The No Life Patriarch outside might have no connection to this body but could sense what we're doing here. Then he'd come charging in to kill us."

Loong Zhiwu pursed her lips, saying nothing more, but Woo Zhengyang knew her well enough to realize she wouldn't easily abandon the idea.

He didn't have time to persuade her otherwise, hoping she'd consider the bigger picture.

"Let's search the stone house. Maybe the way out is here!" Woo Zhengyang instructed.

With that, the four of them began scouring the stone house, inside and out, hoping to find a way to escape.

Meanwhile, the battle at the city gate raged on, with thunderous sounds echoing intermittently.

In this small courtyard, the four people could occasionally feel the tremors of the earth. This indicated that the courtyard and the City of No Life were in the same space, just at opposite ends. The courtyard was deliberately hidden, and the fact that the No Life Patriarch placed his body here suggested there was something extraordinary about it. However, after searching for half a day, the four found nothing remarkable except for the crystal coffin of the No Life Patriarch. Ultimately, their focus had to shift to the crystal coffin itself.
