C215 Scarlet Flame's Fury(2)

Woo Zhengyang didn't respond further, knowing it would be pointless and a waste of words.

Seeing Woo Zhengyang's silence, Liu Yunyun bit her lower lip, then seriously addressed one of the martial artists, "Uncle, it's a matter of life and death for our family. Please, go and ask the elder to come out of seclusion."

The martial artist pondered for a moment, his expression grave, before heading toward the back of the Liu family estate.

Everyone was eager to see how Woo Zhengyang would handle the situation.

At that moment, Woo Zhengyang spoke up, "You might not realize it, but by making this decision, you're pushing your father toward his demise!"

With that, Woo Zhengyang moved swiftly, pursuing Patriarch Liu, who was wildly swinging a broken blade.

To others, Patriarch Liu's frantic movements with the blade seemed ridiculous, yet they offered him some protection, which is why Woo Zhengyang hadn't acted sooner.

However, in Woo Zhengyang's eyes, Patriarch Liu was already as good as dead. He had spared him only to use him as bait to weaken the Liu family's other martial artists, avoiding a situation he couldn't recover from.

Now that his goal was achieved and the elder was about to arrive, Patriarch Liu was no longer of any use.

"You dare... don't... let's talk... if you let my father go, we can negotiate anything..." Liu Yunyun was horrified by Woo Zhengyang's actions and, in a desperate attempt, tried to rush into the formation.

Woo Zhengyang was not someone who could be stopped by just a few words. In just a few strides, he had already caught up to the Liu family patriarch. The patriarch, trapped within the formation, was exhausted and desperate. He had tried every possible way to escape but was still tormented by the relentless flames.

Suddenly, the patriarch's vision cleared as the fire tongues receded. For the first time, he saw something other than the sea of flames—a room filled with tables, chairs, and people with various expressions. Was this his own residence? Had he broken free from the formation, or had someone rescued him and defeated Woo Zhengyang?

With these thoughts, the patriarch began searching for Woo Zhengyang, his hand pausing mid-swing with the broken blade. "Father, watch out..." a cry of alarm reached him. He saw his daughter, Liu Yunyun, anxiously watching him from the side. A chill ran through him as he recalled a similar scene before the deaths of two martial masters.

The patriarch tried to turn quickly to defend himself, but his body moved without his head following. A sword gently sliced under his chin—the very sword Han Shanyuan had given to Woo Zhengyang. Outside the formation, the onlookers saw the patriarch suddenly halt, a brief look of joy on his face, which swiftly turned to terror.

In just a fleeting moment, he realized what had happened and responded accordingly. Unfortunately, that brief instant was all it took for Woo Zhengyang to sever his head. Patriarch Liu was dead.

Everyone present had witnessed death before, their hands stained with blood. Yet, seeing the brutal end of Patriarch Liu stirred a sense of shared fate among them. Not long ago, he was hosting a grand banquet, full of life and vigor, and now he was gone. All because he crossed a young man who seemed no older than sixteen or seventeen.

This incident was a wake-up call for many. They had held high positions in the city for so long that they had forgotten the feeling of having their lives controlled by someone else. They knew the world was vast, with always someone stronger, but they had grown complacent, used to holding others' lives in their hands.

After tonight, the Liu family would no longer be one of the city's four great families, even if they weren't completely wiped out. Not even the presence of their elder could change that unless he reached the Shape Gathering Stage. A family of such stature couldn't be upheld by just a Peak Martial Master. Despite any sympathy, the Liu family was destined to fall, pushed aside by the masses.

As the crowd marveled at the events, Woo Zhengyang approached Liu Yunyun.

The Autumn Water Sword was pressed against Liu Yunyun's throat, a thin line of red already appearing. Staring at the sword originally meant for her protection, now poised to take her life, Liu Yunyun felt not only despair but also bitterness.

Even Martial Masters couldn't stand against Woo Zhengyang, so how could Liu Yunyun, merely an Eight-star Martial Disciple, hope to escape his grasp? All she could do was wait.

However, after a long pause, Liu Yunyun noticed that Woo Zhengyang's sword hadn't struck. Confused, she glanced at Woo Zhengyang, who was looking elsewhere.

In that direction, Han Shanyuan stood up nervously, his hand unknowingly crushing a wine glass, blood dripping down his arm unnoticed.
