C217 Burning a Thousand Miles(2)

Woo Zhengyang stood firm, showing no intention of retreating, clearly waiting for the arrival of Patriarch Liu. Everyone around him felt a growing confidence in Zhengyang. His willingness to wait here indicated he was sure he could handle the patriarch.

Witnessing this, a chilling thought crossed their minds. If this young man could defeat Patriarch Liu, he could single-handedly uproot the entire Liu family. If he could do this to the Lius, he could certainly take on the other three major families, not to mention the smaller ones beneath them.

The idea of a mere youth dominating all the powers in the city was something they never dared to imagine before.

"Who dares to intrude on the Liu family?" A commanding voice echoed as two figures landed in the courtyard. One was the martial artist sent to fetch the patriarch, and the other was an elderly man with white hair—none other than Patriarch Liu himself.

As soon as they landed and took in the scene, Patriarch Liu's eyes widened in fury. He had been roused from his seclusion, knowing that the family wouldn't disturb him unless faced with a dire crisis. Yet, he never expected to find the family head and all the martial artists lying lifeless on the ground.

In the clearing stood a young man in a blue robe.

"Is this the one who dared to challenge my family?" the Liu family patriarch demanded, pulling aside the martial artist who had just arrived.

"Yes... it's him. But when I went to get you, the head of the family was only trapped in the formation, not yet..."

"Enough!" the patriarch interrupted, glaring at Woo Zhengyang. "Young man, what grudge do you have against my family to resort to such measures?"

"What difference does it make to know the reason? We're already at a point of no return. Let's just settle this," Woo Zhengyang replied, raising his sword.

Though Zhengyang remained silent, the patriarch glanced at Liu Yunyun and the martial artist, who both lowered their heads. Everyone present understood the situation clearly; they couldn't lie, but telling the truth wouldn't favor the Liu family.

Seeing this, the patriarch realized the truth and scoffed, "Useless fools, all of you deserve this!"

He then scanned the guests at the banquet. By now, the attendees were no longer worried about the patriarch. With over a dozen martial artists present, if the patriarch dared to act, it wouldn't end well for him. Besides, his real adversary was Woo Zhengyang.

The guests began to chatter, revealing the Liu family's actions, which only fueled the patriarch's anger.

At this point, he had no way out. He pulled a fiery red long knife from his Hidden Heaven Bag and strode toward Woo Zhengyang.

"The Crimson Flame Blade, a top-tier spiritual weapon, is the Liu family's treasured heirloom."

"Combined with the Liu family's 'Crimson Flame Blade Technique,' its power is extraordinary. It seems the Liu family patriarch has mastered this technique to its peak!"

"A peak martial master, peak martial skills, and a top-tier weapon—I can't imagine how Woo Zhengyang will handle this!"

"Neither can I, but that guy is truly something else. Who knows what other surprises he has in store? Let's wait and see!"

The crowd buzzed with speculation.

As the Liu family patriarch appeared, Woo Zhengyang had already returned to the center of the formation. Seeing the patriarch approaching with such intensity, he tightened his grip on his Autumn Water Sword.

He chose to face the Liu family patriarch not only because of his nature, which disliked retreating, but also to avoid future troubles for himself.

However, confronting a peak martial master, Woo Zhengyang wasn't overly confident. He did have a trump card left—the Ice Crystal Fire Hall—but it was only a last resort for self-preservation, not for defeating the patriarch.

"Kid, you're strong, leaving no way out for my Liu family. But I wonder, have you left a way out for yourself?" the patriarch said, suddenly leaping forward with a powerful step.

In mid-air, the Patriarch wielded his long sword, now infused with powerful energy. Originally a deep crimson, the blade seemed to blaze with fire, its intensity far surpassing the fiery fists of Woo Zhengyang.

"Blazing Fury, scorch the land!" the Patriarch roared, unleashing a technique that transformed his sword into hundreds of fiery arcs. Each arc carried the force of a blazing inferno, painting the night sky red as if dawn had arrived early.

As the arcs descended, they scattered radiant light everywhere. Despite being within his protective array, Woo Zhengyang could feel the searing heat approaching.

"Crack... Crack... Crack..." The sound of breaking echoed as seven array flags before Woo Zhengyang shattered in succession. With the loss of these flags, his protective array was now broken...
