C226 Dragons Have Reverse Scales(1)
In the quaint town nestled at the base of the Profound Heaven Sect, a young man in a purple robe with black hair, carrying a sword, made his way into town. This young man was none other than Woo Zhengyang.
Upon entering, Woo Zhengyang hurried toward Uncle Fu's courtyard. However, as soon as the courtyard came into view, his brow furrowed with concern. A dense crowd had gathered outside, and it took considerable effort for Woo Zhengyang to push through.
At the center of the commotion, two groups stood in a tense standoff. One group, numbering over twenty, wore plain clothes with no distinguishing marks, suggesting they weren't affiliated with any sect. They all seemed to be at least at the Martial Master Stage.
The other group consisted of just three individuals. Woo Zhengyang recognized them immediately: Elder Ye, who had witnessed his life-and-death duel with Liu Tianli; Elder Zhou Changtai, who had led the expedition to the Mystic Trace Realm; and Lee Yunsheng, the only other disciple from the Profound Heaven Sect to emerge from the Mystic Trace Realm alongside Woo Zhengyang.
Lee Yunsheng was half-kneeling on the ground, and it was only then that Woo Zhengyang noticed another person, mostly obscured by Lee Yunsheng, lying on the ground, covered in blood. It was Uncle Fu.
Seeing Uncle Fu in such a dire state ignited a fierce anger within Woo Zhengyang, and he clenched his fists tightly.
"Are you guys from the Profound Heaven Sect really going to meddle in personal disputes?" a middle-aged man asked Elder Ye and Elder Zhou.
"What personal dispute? This elder is a family member of one of our disciples from the Profound Heaven Sect. You're making an enemy of us!" Zhou Changtai retorted hotly.
"Family member? Then where's your disciple? Let him come out and prove it! And Zhou Changtai, you should be aware of your own status. Being expelled from our Zhou family and making it to an elder in a sect is no small feat. Don't ruin your future over someone irrelevant!" another person sneered.
"You... I have nothing to do with your Zhou family anymore!" Zhou Changtai shouted angrily.
The connection between Zhou Changtai and this person was unexpected for Woo Zhengyang, but it was clear the relationship was strained.
Ignoring Zhou Changtai's anger, the man continued, "And another thing, don't forget, you two are just outer sect elders of the Profound Heaven Sect. You can't represent the sect. If the heads of our twenty-five families are involved, and your sect really wants to interfere, at least an inner sect elder should show up!"
"Everyone, please calm down. I've already reported this to the sect, and someone will be here soon to resolve the matter," Elder Ye said.
"Hmph! You're fooling yourselves. My uncle, Zhou Lianshan, is an inner sect elder of the Profound Heaven Sect, and he's made it clear that the sect won't get involved with Woo Zhengyang's affairs. Even if Woo Zhengyang returns, he'll be expelled for tarnishing the sect's reputation!"
"That's right, everyone knows our goal. Once Woo Zhengyang shows up, everything will be resolved!"
With over twenty people chiming in, Elder Ye and Zhou Changtai couldn't possibly outtalk them.
"If you two don't step aside and let us take that old man, don't blame us for being rude. I believe even if this reaches the Profound Heaven Sect, they won't oppose our twenty-five families over this!" The speaker was the head of the Zhou family, clearly the leader among the twenty-five families, with Zhou Lianshan backing him.
"Hah... Twenty-five families, what a spectacle, how embarrassing!" A discordant voice suddenly emerged from the crowd.
"Who?"
"The person you're looking for!" With that, Woo Zhengyang stepped through the crowd and appeared before everyone.
"Woo Zhengyang!"
"Is that Woo Zhengyang? This guy really dared to show up?"
"Hmph! If he didn't show up, that old man would die. It seems he was hiding, afraid to face Moh Lunhui, but now he has no choice but to come out."
The heads of the twenty-five families clearly didn't recognize Woo Zhengyang. As he appeared, they began discussing among themselves.
Woo Zhengyang ignored them and walked straight to Uncle Fu.
At this moment, Uncle Fu was covered in blood, his face as pale as paper. His already cloudy eyes were even more lifeless, but seeing Woo Zhengyang brought a bit of spirit back to him. In a weak voice, he sighed, "Oh... foolish child, you shouldn't have come back, let alone shown yourself!"
"Uncle Fu, stop talking and focus on healing. Leave this to me!" Woo Zhengyang said as he pulled out several jade bottles from his Hidden Heaven Bag.
Opening one of the bottles, the fragrance of the medicine filled the air, detectable even by a family head several yards away, who exclaimed, "Vitality Pill!"
The Vitality Pill, a mid-grade spirit pill, is known for its remarkable healing properties. It was the same pill Loong Zhiwu had given Woo Zhengyang that day.
"Such a valuable item shouldn't be wasted on me," Uncle Fu protested, advising Woo Zhengyang to keep it for himself.
"Don't worry, Uncle Fu. We'll have plenty of these pills in the future!"
"Such bold claims!" a family head chuckled, though his eyes betrayed a deep desire for the Vitality Pill, a sentiment shared by others around him.
